Thanks for this. I'm about to buy one of these kits for my new house. I'll be sure to use the affiliate link in the dibly-doo. Also, genius idea teaching the kid how to pickpocket. In this economy, you can never have too many streams of income.
I appreciated the entire video and the straightforward way you presented it. But my favorite part was the beautiful interaction with your children. You seem to be a wonderful family & amazing parents.

This is the best DIY murphy bed video I have seen. I have zero experience with wood or building, and this video caters to people like me. Thank you so much. Can`t wait to build my own murphy for my home office!
I just watched your DIY on how to make a Murphy bed. I feel confident that I can do this project in the near future. Thank for your video an clear explanatory and visual viewing of this project. You and your wife did amazing with this project.
I think this is a great video. DIY, you kept it pretty direct and simple. I think we will be doing the same but changing a few things. Not much. We would like shelves on the front, to hold the decorative pillows and blankets, and act as the legs when we lower the bed for use. Great job!!
Thanks to your video I was able to get enough courage to build murphy bed. Took me about 2 weeks of working on it for couple of hours almost every day. Did few mistakes here and there but was able to fix the issues. It was really good experience and even thinking of building matching cabinets (I decorated the front face of the bed).
Thank you so much. I've watched several RUclips videos on Murphy beds and I found this one the most comprehensive. The only annoying part was that I had to pause your video several times in order to convert your imperial measurements to the metric system.
I’m watching to get ideas to make a simple diy low profile couch that is backdropped with a murphy bed that utilizes going inside the studs of the wall with soundproofing and a pillow headrest. 😉😉👉👉 who am I kidding. I’m dreaming. I don’t have this guy’s time and ambition. Bravo.
Thanks for sharing! Definitely helped while I built mine. Does the top of your mattress rub the wall and headboard slightly when rotating to open/close? I noticed mine does that with a thicker mattress. The cabinet closes properly though
Great video! I’m about to build this myself. Quick question. Did you use any solid wood in your build or did you just stick with plywood the whole way? The instructions say to use solid wood on the inner bed frame part. I’d hate to buy extra wood if I don’t need it. Thanks again.
Enjoyed the video, nice job. You made it look fairly simple. I'm assuming the hardware kit has all the plywood and bed dimensions, correct? How would you rate it as far a difficulty level?
Did you remove the baseboard wall trim before installing the Murphy bed to the wall or leave it installed? If you left it installed did you have to notch out the wall baseboard trim shape from the bed cabinet side uprights? Thanks
I also wondered this or if you used trim width wood which was put behind where the anchors at the top . I also like the locking idea for children's safety. It looked nicely done.
The link to your blog goes to some spam. Are the legs substantial enough to hold two adults and a kid jumping on the bed? Also seems like it may dig onto the hardwood floors.
Hi!! I saw that you have a link to the hardware kit and saw there’s one for horizontal queen beds! Just wanted to ask if you know if the Horizontal queen bed from Lori wall beds would work well with the kit? It’s just too heavy for me to lift down on my own everyday and need a spring mechanism to help me
Thanks Zach! I would say it took around 18 hours. However, we were only to work in small chunks of time so if you had a dedicated time to spend I could see you getting this done as a weekend project easily. Enjoy!
hey, beautiful idea! very good kit! is it possible to have the exact measurements of the individual pieces to be cut to make the bed in the video??;) thank you
Unfortunately, the instructions are too extensive to lay them out and I wouldn't want to violate any copyright of the Easy DIY Murphy Bed company. There are plenty of other Murphy Bed resources on RUclips if you are interested in finding some plans. Thanks for stopping by!
There are a lot of variables in the price. Premium plywoods and paints will increase your cost significantly. I would say that you could spend anywhere from $400 - $600. We were somewhere in the middle. Thanks for watching!
I have a request that can be strange to you, i am very fond of my old permaflex bed net, so, i would like to use that One, i need only the hardware to adapt It. Because the metal Is very very strong and heavy i was thinking to drill It and use a long metal line to lift It. Or can i buy only hardware not idraulic?
Your local Hardware/lumber store can't and won't be able to cut these pieces. They don't have the equipment, and they can't guarantee that the cuts will be accurate. Their employees don't really care either, so having them do it is a horrible idea.

I love how you are letting your children be with you on the project. So awesome

Did you build it? How did it go. I have ZERO experience with woodworking and I'm really intimidated. Let me know!

Awesome, i personally dont want the mechanism but would love to get the plans... would you sell them to me?
Anton- can you post your finished bed? How has it held up?
@@nikellerosier3366 ruclips.net/video/4BDm1vUlEUs/видео.html
It was used every single day for a period of 9 months. It is great no complains.
@@polouefn you still need the plans?
This came out so professional looking and well made! Thanks for this video, will be attempting this project soon 😊
Please make more videos like this of multifunctional furniture! This is such a cool idea I love it!!! :D
Solid work! I'm going to pick up the lumber tomorrow to start my build. Appreciate the video!
Greetings friend. Thank you for taking your valuable time to teach us how to make the wall bed. greetings from Puerto Rico
You are very welcome!
Great project info, your children are delightful.
Very inspiring! Thank you for the detailed steps and the footages!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You two and your babies are so darn cute. Good job on the bed.
Thank you!! 😊
Really great video. Thank you for the tutorial, keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!
Great video thank you. Now I’m off to build mine.
10:41 "Dad! You did it! You made the bed.....right?" lmao too cute!

Very nice bed, great team work... loved that little cheerleader at the end.
2 additional locking mechanism might be a good idea, (1 in each side), in case a child decides to hang off the handles.
I can see that happening.
Well done! Thanks for sharing

This was awesome, I loved watching this!
Thanks Michael! It was a fun project.
Beautiful job! Thanks for the tutorial
Good project! I need this in my bedroom
Good job, im impressed.
at 5:25 the mattress support should be flushed with the foot of the bed and the quarter inch gap should be at the head of the bed.
Thanks for sharing! Definitely helped while I built mine. Does the top of your mattress rub the wall and headboard slightly when rotating to open/close? I noticed mine does that with a thicker mattress. The cabinet closes properly though
Can I just hire you? You seem very precise and thorough doing the Murphy bed.
Great project!
Very nice! I wish I was handy!

Have you ever made a video ors have a plan for a double horizontal murphy bed please thanks
Well done!! 👍
good job I love it
Nice job!
I cant wait for my amp to get here so I can finish mine.
I would use slats instead of a flat piece of plywood for the mattress, might lighten the weight and allows the mattress to breathe.
I personally wouldn’t advise that, we did that and the both of us together weigh way under 300lbs. We were fine; not any bowing
How much would you say you spend on lumber?
Look for free lumber left over from projects people have done or construction sites
What did you use to attach the bed frame to the wall studs?
Good video
I just found your channel and I love it! However, why only one video? Have you quit RUclips for good? I sure hope not!
Bonjour
Pouvez-vous svp me dire la longueur et la puissance des piston a gaz?

Great video it’s going to help a lot what is the overall height?
What color is that? Love it.
What kind of wood is? Btw looks profesional 10/10
Hi there! where can we buy the DIY mechanisn online? Thanks for the response. Cheers!

Thank for sharing this great video! Can you please tell us the total estimated cost to build the entire bed. Thanks in advance 😊.
I am finishing mine. Approximately 900$ ( Canadian)

Hello how thick is your mattress?
I was wondering the same thing
What’s the weight capacity? I have a king size bed that ways over 200 lbs by itself

Well done thanks for sharing details. Is that a memory foam mattress?
Yes, it is
what should be the newton strength of the gas spring for a queen size matress ?

ok, exact measurements and instructions are included in the kit,is that correct?
Yes Gennaro, Every step of the instructions are included in the kit. Including the dimensions necessary to build the bed. Thanks!
thickness of the plywood front panels? 1/4"?
3/4" plywood on the front panels. The mattress support assembly used 1/4"
@@athome3585 Thank You.
What it is made of?plzzz
plywood!
Do you feel like the instructions are strait-forward enough that a beginner DIY’er could accomplish?
YES!!!!
I would have used slats so mattress could breathe.
You said the hardware kit is $250.00, including the wood, paint etc. Just ballpark, how much was this whole project?
There are a lot of variables in the price. Premium plywoods and paints will increase your cost significantly. I would say that you could spend anywhere from $400 - $600. We were somewhere in the middle. Thanks for watching!
@@athome3585 - I just spent $600 on a Sofa/Futon hybrid that’s no where near as good as this beauty!

This is NOT DIY if you buy hardware. Sorry
I agree the hardware makes it easier but there is a ton of DIYing going on!
Sure it is. Do you make your own nuts and bolts?
Guy DIY Creators make it from skrach without Murphy mechanizam.
Did yu have a lot of material waste waste?
Nice job!
