if the sport is water resistant (probably is) and sound just as good and lighter and $200 cheaper then nobody is going to buy this one. So I am pretty sure the sound quality will definitely worse on the sport version.
They don't look bulky and they look very stylish. They really look like a luxury fashion wear item. There is a temptation to go to the nearest clothes store and try out some matching colour clothes that look cool with the headset. The consumer really feels like a consumer, not like some machine-looking human. The Apple's AirPods Max makes the consumer feel like the attention of gaze is directed at his handsome face not at the thingy on the head. The Apple's AirPods Max amplifies the good looks of the consumer.

Most apple coverage these days seems to follow this pattern. Titles like. “Is it actually BAD??” and the video says “nah it’s super good actually.” People respond more to negativity than positivity. Literally clickbait.

These videos are made for people worldwide, not just Americans. It is absolutely crucial to speak in a way so all people from all ages and all levels of education can understand what's going on. What may sound stupid to you may not sound stupid to a young kid from a developing country who's finding out what us entitled Americans have in our country. The least we can do is to make sure we speak in a way that they can understand too with their lack of proficiency in English. I learned the importance of this in practicing medicine as I have to teach my patients in a language that makes you feel stupid, but not someone who does not know enough English :)

I’m about to return mine because of their pressure. My head is about to explode after 2 hours of wearing. UPD: I’ve changed them to another color and it’s perfectly fine now. Clamping power is not that strong
Same…I Googled the issue..a dude on Reddit shows the solution to reduce the clamping pressure by stretching them for 30 seconds. Worked for me tremendously well.
You guys should really try to think about How often you use “shocking” and “honest review”. It’s becomming a bit tidious. I really like your channels but it’s becoming a bit much. Should a review not alway be honest? Whats The alternative.. a dishonest review??
They do it because of the views it gets. That is the only thing these folks care about and that is why they keep doing it. They obviously don’t care what it looks like to returning viewers, it’s all about growing the channel.
But that doesn't change the quality of the actual review. If it helps them get more views, grow their channel and be more successful I don't see what the problem is. If I'm interested in the review or am a fan of their channel and their videos, I would watch them no matter what the title is.

I got my AirPods Max on 12/15 with no intention to return them. I used them extensively (flight too) and they were great. They definitely sounded high quality and everything was great until I compared them to AirPod Pros. I might not have the best ear for distinguishing sound but I honestly couldn’t see much difference in the sound between the two except APM having deeper/more cinematic bass than APP (APP by no means a slouch), and maybe slightly fuller sound. As for noise cancelling the APM were great but varied based on your head movement. APP are consistent and in some cases even blocked out more sound (specifically with an air vent). For these reasons, I returned the APM yesterday. They sound great and don’t fail to deliver in any way except for the fact that I don’t see a $400 improvement (got APP for $180 on Black Friday) over APP. Their build is super premium I’ll give them that, but I wasn’t blown away by the sound over the APP to justify the price. As for condensation I didn’t experience it yet but I mostly used indoors (70 F) only.
Im getting these cause i loved everything about the Air Pods Pro, except that i don't like in ear Earbuds. APP most comfortable by far but i just cant do it for longer than 30 mins. Grabbing these so i can have all the Upsides of the Apple eco system and paying extra for comfort.
I had NO problem returning my AirPods Max. The condensation issue with the ear cups has become widespread and the battery issue loses about 32% in the Smart Case after being stored for 20 hours. You do too much click bait and all your videos do are kiss up to Apple. These things have HUGE flaws including the clanking of the ear cups if you don't take them out carefully from the Smart Case. I took them out on cup at a time and then swiveled them to their side so I can take out the other cup, swiveled it and there was no clanking. That can cause long term damage to the aluminum. The engineers failed with this device. SOOOO much potential, but the condensation and battery issues can cause users to suffer electrical shocks. Stop kissing up to Apple, please. Talk about BOTH the good and the bad in FULL detail. Your videos do not feel genuine at all.
You don’t know what you are talking about! Condensation is not new with headphones this category. And you don’t know better than apple engineers! People are noticing the condensation because it’s easy to remove the ear cups. Even xm4s have condensation! I own APM, I’ve had condensation multiples times now but no issues with battery. You talking about electrical shocks is the dumbest thing you can say😀
I used the AirPds Max refund to get the Sony XM4 and BeyerDynamic Amiron Wireless headphones to pair with my Sony NW-WM1Z wirelessly using LDAC or aptX HD. The 10-band EQ on the WM1Z Walkman adds more customization to the audio. Whatever people decide is their best way, that is what matters and I hope everyone enjoys their audio gear. I’ve had my Airpods Max for a couple of weeks (upgrade from XM3) and I absolutely love them! The build quality is fantastic, noticeably better sound quality than the XM3, and the ease of use is outstanding for what I use them for. Note I have a pair of Focal Clear audiophile headphones so these are not in that realm but that’s not what they’re supposed to be.

I had the opposite in terms of comfort; they're tight around my ears and give me headaches. And that fabric is scratchy. Plus I hate the way they shift when you move on your head because of the weight. Methinks they're going back to Apple in the next couple of days... thank goodness for their 15 day return policy.
I've loved these headphone reviews Max.For me, I feel that the AirPods Pro take a hell of a lot of beating as all round awesome earphones. The do everything really nicely and the £50 price drop (John Lewis) makes then even better. The AirPods Pro seem to fit into my lifestyle really well :) And I love the Spacial Audio for film watching :)
I would buy them if Apple: - Add a possibility to turn them off manually w/o this dumbass case. - By the way, the case should be designed with the purpose to protect headphones during transportation, otherwise, it is a burdening, useless piece of garbage - The headphones should be lighter: this is the reason why I am waiting for the sports version. Hope that Apple will be able to add at least some of these features.
I don’t know why people compare the AirPods max with the airpod pros. They are two entirely different categories of headphones and complementary in my view. I decided to buy a Max a whole year later even though I have a XM4 because a) they are significantly down in price b) they will pair better with my Apple ecosystem, I have two iPads, an iPhone and a Mac mini, the xm4 can only connect to two of them

Our customers are mostly business professionals looking for high end business grade headsets that can also be used for pleasure. An issue we've seen with some models is the call quality and connection consistency on applications like Zoom and Ringcentral are not the best. Mine just came in yesterday and I returned my sandy white Sennheiser M3s today. I couldn’t justify keeping both because I feel like I would never use the M3s. I like how the APM cups are bigger and just just overall more comfortable. I thought they sounded better than the M3s as well.
Max, I have to comment on this review. Once again in the course of your review you don’t seem to focus on what is important in headphones of this type. This is a high fidelity headphone. In this category audiophiles will typically pay $500-$2000 for a pair of headphones. These headphones are in that category. The most important thing about a pair of headphones is how good they sound. Not if they are as convenient as a pair of AirPod pros or what their case looks like. The point is high-quality audio. I also noticed in your video that you were streaming Spotify. Spotify does not stream in Hi-Rez. That’s why I stopped using it along time ago. You cannot get optimal sound quality from a source that is mediocre to begin with. Apple Music now offers lossless audio as well as Dolby Atmos. When you’re paying over $500 for a pair of headphones, the point is audio perfection. That’s what these headphones are for. Also these types of reviews tend to bait you with the idea of you don’t think they’re good enough but then you wind up saying they are in fact excellent. Kind of silly. If you want convenient mediocre headphones, there are plenty of those. If you want high definition high end headphones, these are a reasonably priced option. I have never heard such impressive sub bass in a pair of headphones before. The sound stage in these headphones is remarkable as is the separation and detailing. That is what matters most in a device of this sort. Perhaps that should be the headline of this video. Cheers.
You can actually break the max down with sim ejection tool under the removable covers. There’s a tiny hole next to the headband stems. Little bit fidgety but can be done ✅

All on ear headphones have condensation. For information, mine have died and got a replacement unit just yesterday... with Apple Care you will be covered, it took 3 days only to ship and deliver with a reusable box to send the faulty ones back. So there’s that peace of mind... I panicked yesterday too after seeing all the condensation threads but that makes no sense, in the 3 years plus in the making they must have though of that and besides 99% of on ear headphones have that and they are fine, we just can’t see it as easily because they don’t have that magnetic easy-plug earmuffs to get closer to the insides. I think mines were just a lemon.

I'm not gonna deny that the APM have a good sound quality. But you still have to remember that the sound you are hearing from them are going via Bluetooth. And in Apple's case, it's 256 kbps AAC. That's the best sound you will ever be able to hear with the APM without a cable. So the good sound you are hearing is most likely upscaled sound, which is not the real deal when it comes to listening to high-end audio. And here it doesn't matter how good you think the sound might be as cabled sound doesn't have that limitation Bluetooth have. Cabled sound will always be able to sound better no matter what. And not to mention that anything that is able to deliver better sound than what Spotify and Apple Music is capable of, is waste of money as the Bluetooth will just downconvert anything to 256 kbps AAC that is anything better than that. So TIDAL with either FLAC / MQA or Deezer with FLAC is a complete waste. Now, that 35 dollar Lightning to 3.5mm minijack adapter does still have it's own DAC in the cable. And as far as i know, that DAC is not very good. Not only that, but even if you are using that Lightning to 3.5mm minijack adapter, you will still use the APM's battery, which is stupid in my eyes. And lastly, the 24 hours of playback time you are getting is actually not that great when the Beoplay H95 from Bang & Olufsen can put out 38 hours with ANC on. And the fact that you had your volume at 90% for that time period says me that the volume is low on the APM as others also have pointed out.
$600 and then you have to pay for a new battery in a couple years. They’re disposable compared to my sony MDR 7506 I bought 40 years ago for $80 and still sound great.

I returned mine the very next day, the biggest reason, they just didn't loud enough. Now, I've been spoiled with a pair of Sennheiser HD 600s, connected to a BTR5 BI-DAC via the 2.5 balanced input
I tried them and got rid of them. There was only one reason also. That reason was clamping power. I don’t know if it’s just me or what. But these suckers are tight. I kept trying to justify them for days and couldn’t do it. I could only wear them for so long and my head would just hurt.
I had them for 3 weeks and just decided to return them. Loved them but 3 key reasons I returned 1. condensation after 2 hours of use just sitting at my desk. Not as bad as the Twitter guys, but definitely noticeable and even looks like it went through the holes inside the drivers. The ring around the drivers also are semi-red (if you shine a iPhone torch into it). My guess is it’s a moisture ring or some sort of material that detects it and turns color. Certainly wasn’t red when in new condition. 2. The aluminium cups scratch super easy, and the silicone like headband will degrade pretty fast, as they do with my Apple silicon iPhone case 3. Travelling, just not practical. Especially travelling to tropical locations like Bali. Again condensation will be a huge problem I put in an order for the XM4s. Hoping 2nd generation AirPods max will be better

Have the XM4, good ANC,bass is boomy like u said, but reduce the clear bass on the app about -3 and it sounds amazing. The crispness of that treble was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Personally, the things that I really found the Sony lacking compared to the Apple is the soundstage and the ANC(if it really best the sony as it have ANC optimizer so experiences may vary for everyone). Sound quality are subjective but the mids on the XM4 are unbeatable.
I got these headphones on Christmas. DAY 1 I used them non stop in an attempt to kill the battery so I could get my initial charge out the way. it took 2 days and multiple hour sessions but in between taking the ear cups out no condensation. I live in Buffalo NY nothing but cold weather here I've tried so many scenarios and listening sessions, so I assume my pair must doesn't suffer from these cases of condensation being reported. Far as the overall experience with these, there excellent and i prefer listening to music with these as oppose to my airpod pros.
I have almost a whole bunch of all airpods models, including Max. I just want to say, I love them, but using rarely. Most of the time I prefer pro because they’re compact. The quality and noise cancellation of Max are superb, I enjoy each time I wear it ❤
Polk speakers are somewhat lower end stuff just saying lol. Try things like Focal, Bowers & Wilkins, Martin Logan, or KEF for the nicer things in the audio world. Klipsch would be an upgrade but they’re upper mid range with their best stuff.

Totally agree. Just sold my Sony WH1000XM3 after trying these by Apple. I admit they’re way too expensive, but the comfort, sound, and OMG the NC and transparency mode…amazing.
As someone who uses a pair of sennheiser HD660S, 800S and also a pair of Focal Clear Professional hooked up to about 5 different DACs in all price ranges...no... just no... they DO NOT provide the same quality, not even close. I kept my Airpods Max just to have a throwaway pair for outside use.
I have bought them last night. Should get them Friday. Just hope I love them because I am planning on using them over the Bose 700s that I’ve had for several years now.
The Max’s are on my radar. I won’t do in ear buds anymore, and my Bose QC35s aren’t loud enough anymore. But $550 blows.. god that’s a lot of money for a gen 1 product but here I am.

I’ve spent more time enjoying the hell out of my Max’s, and less time complaining or worrying about - ooh, mid tone quality, weight, price of an apple, eco-system, condensation, bracase - or any other made-up reason people try to convince themselves there is, so they can justify something they want isn’t worth it. But it is.
@Reharmonized Cup something ANYWHERE on your body for 12 hours - and guess what - it’ll probably get wet. I ain’t gonna be wearing these for that stretch of time - so I’m good. Real good.
@Reharmonized that’s why you invest 56.00 in apple care and let er rip. If there’s gonna be any kind of problem going forward you’ll be covered. I think it’s a cold climate with a very hot head, coupled with extended wear times. For the most part.
@Reharmonized I understand, I also think this situation could be extreme cases. Very possible the same issues are happening in other headphones, not known cause the cups don’t come off easily. I do see your point however and I’m not an employee of Apple. I will see for myself, I live in Florida and will be receiving mine tomorrow. @Reharmonized This is a thing, however it’s not unique to these headphones. Look around the web and you’ll find condensation issues with all closed-back over-ear headphones. It’s not hard to find discussions of this topic that have nothing to do with APM. Whether the problem is worse with APM, I don’t know, but it is definitely not unique, nor uncommon. I know I haven’t seen any signs of this with my own, but then I almost never sweat.
I returned mine within one hour of opening them up and putting them on my head. The clamping pressure gave me a headache within 10 minutes. They sounded awesome. They could have been comfortable. I really wanted to love them, but they where waaaaaaay too tight.
I had loved to use the Sony MDR-1000X only for a month and then my ears got sweating and headband pain came: I can not wear it for more than 1-2 hours. And then headbands started breaking after 2 months. No service was available in S. Korea for the buyer from Amazon US. This bad experience has permanently stopped me to purchase any item from Sony. And I may give the AirPods Max the try soon.
I bought a pair in silver, very impressed with sound, battery, quality of materials, seamless integration with my iPhone and iPad. I too think could have a little more bass but yes compared with Sony sometimes it’s not all about bass. Yes spatial sound and ear shaking was cool and impressive. Yes this headset is a recommended item to buy.
Have purchased 1 1/2 weeks ago and used extensively. I have worn them for 4-5 hours straight, many times, with no problems. I do not notice the weight at all. The top band is noticeably more comfy than the Sony XM4s. The ear cups got slightly warm after an hour or so but not uncomfortable at all. Clamping pressure is not a problem for me and I have a big melon. Again, after an hour or so, a slight readjust without removing them was all it took. Expensive? Yes, no question. Worth it? Depends on what you want. I went from the new Sony XM4s and in some instances, I do not notice a lot of difference in sound quality. In other instances, its very much better with the APM's. Transparency and noise cancellation are far better than the Sonys. The case, well, yes its a POS. I will get an aftermarket case once they become available. The Sony XM4 case is very good and too bad Apple couldn't have made the APM foldable as the Sonys are. But as all my flights (when I can fly) are long haul, these are not big issues. Comparing the Sony and APM side by side, the build quality is so much better on the APMs. Each to his own, your mileage will vary.
I am standing my ground. You should keep your AirPods Max. I received mine yesterday. After setting them up, I did other activities such as paying bills. Instead of turning my Sonos speakers on, I kept the headphones on. I currently, I have been wearing them for over five hours. After finishing my work, I wanted to watch some RUclips videos, such as yours, but not until I paired my AirPods Max with my laptop. As you can probably tell I find my pair of AirPods Max to be very comfortable.
I really want to get them now. I would like to be sitting down in the living room looking at my 82 inch TV and watch my shows and movies and just block out all the other sounds that tiger Chen makes.
@max tech you recommend getting apple care if you're worried about the condensation issue. But would Apple even cover that? They generally never cover water damage. Have they added water damage coverage?
I don't think I can go back from automatic device switching or spatial audio, so if they ever decide to make these available to buy, I will probably end up with them over the 700s or XM4s, both of which, I agree, are excellent and superior values.
Well ive been using them for only 3 weeks and problems started today - Strange sound on the right speaker (like a base heartbeat that grows stronger and stronger even without music on) also no sound, headphones are showing connected on my iphone but the sound comes out of the iphone speakers, not the headphones, I had to reset every time. forget it. not worth it. I loved them when they worked, but after only 3 weeks and all these problems already who wants to deal with that? Apple offered a replacement but I think I'm going to go to the store tomorrow for a refund.
You may not be able to use your Air Pods Max in all situations. That is why the Air Pods Pro would be a suitable standby for those situations when space saving is an issue. However, when the situation comes that you are able to accommodate the Pros you do enjoy them. I have a pair of both Max and Pros on order. My suggestion to you is to keep your Air Pod Max.
I was lucky enough to get these for my bday and they sounded great, but the weight of them seriously was just too much. I didn’t notice it the first few days but I started getting strain in my neck and I realized it was because of the weight of wearing the headphones and I thought why would I bother with that when I can just use earbuds that sound nearly as good Edit: And I thought why would I spend 550 dollars on something that makes me uncomfortable
I'm pretty easily satisfied with headphones. Got a free set of Beats Studio3 Wireless with my MacBook Pro in 2019. They click loud with the couple of buttons, but they're fine to me.
Should I buy them too? I wanted to get the AirPods 3 after my pros broke but I just couldn’t justify spending about as much for headphones that do less. Plus I could lose them. @@imstuff205 I would get the pros if you haven’t done anything yet. The pros give you noise cancellation that the airpods 3 doesn’t give you and they’ll be better for travel or anything else like that. Although I can’t lie, the audio quality on the airpods max is insanely good.

You should change your channel to apple tech bruh, you made almost 60-80 videos regarding apple products in the last 3 months. It's upto you, this is just my opinion.
The transparency mode is good, but not as good as my AirPods Pro. I didn’t break in the mic’s that *well* but honestly, with all this hype, I feel like my product may be defective.
When it comes to headphones it can be rather subjective. The AirPods Max in sound quality definitely out preform the Sony MX4 but not in noise cancelation, the MX4 is king. Putting them against the Bose 700, B&O H9i and the B&O H95, the AirPods Max falls short of the B&O line but sorry Bose the AirPods are better in all areas. Sound quality in the H9i is slightly better but against the H95 they are way out of there league. At $550 would I purchase them, no, they are over priced and lack in areas that do not justify the price. Lower the price to $350 and you have a winner.
Hmm, you covered all the major points. I’m middling-impressed with APM but still on the fence. Please do updates as you use them more! The Over Ear design with aluminum cups is unfortunate, condensation wise. My main concern is weight. I’m prone to neck pain - especially when I’m looking down at an iPhone watching RUclips, drat. (As the world’s literally lowest-priority problem, COVID-19 is preventing my usual massages.🙄) And APM don’t seem to be the best fit for glasses, which I wear half the time. I accept I’m an Apple fangirl (not exclusively, I use other tech too). The interconnectivity sounds SO sweet! Kind of want to wait for Gen Two’s improvements, or at least for when I go back to commuting more and they’d be more helpful.
You can find better sound quality headphones the only good thing is the features like the noise cancellation changing option and the open back better off getting dt 880s hd 6xxs or cal se’s

I see the same thing as well. Sitting at my office desk, after about an hour of work with temp at 20 degrees celsius, I see small amounts of condensation. In the basement (where it’s cooler at about 18.5) I see more of it. Still gonna keep ‘em for the reasons Max mentions in the video.
@@MaxTechOfficial I have this condensation issue to... just after 1,5h of using them just sitting on my couch with 20 degrees celsius and 55% humidity. When I put them off my ears feel a bit damp/humid. I also have the Sony XM4 but no problem there. I also let my girlfriend test the airpods max for 2.5h while gaming and surprise... no condensation... they was dry. so it must be some body specific thing also. so not everyone will have this condensation issiue.
Having MAJOR battery issues with my AirPods Max. Mine were delivered Thursday 01/07/2021 around 8:30pm. I unboxed them, put them on and they were at around 65% battery. I listened to music, talked on the phone, watched a few minutes of some shows that utilize Dolby so I could test Spatial audio, went through the different modes, adjusted the sound in the accessibility settings…you know the works. After about 2-3 hours of use, I plugged them up to the charger (out of the case). Stayed up a bit doing some work and decided to get some sleep around 2:00am on Friday, 01/08/2021. Before going to sleep I picked up the headphones to see how much charge they had and they were fully charged to 100%. I then placed them into the case so they could go into low power mode and went to bed. Friday, 01/08/2021 around 8:30am I woke up to go about my day. Around 2:30pm a friend of mine called, so I grabbed my AirPods Max so I wouldn’t have to hold the phone and because I was now in the mood for music while I worked. The AirPods Max were at 20%!!!! They drain 80% in 12 hours IN THE CASE. I opened a case with Apple and they scheduled a call with me to talk about the issue and figure out next steps. Long story short from that call, they put a profile on my phone to monitor Bluetooth usage because they think that it’s possible the AirPods Max weren’t in the case properly or somehow weren’t disconnected from my phone and therefore burned through battery. They also had me enable Assistive Touch so we could enable a quick button to save the logs and data in a file for them to analyze on Tuesday 01/12/2021 at 8:00am (since we talked Friday and the person I was talking to wouldn’t be working again until Tuesday). I also agreed to take screenshots and notate every action: when I put them on the charger, take them off of the charger, when I put them down to stop using them or right before I put them in the case for low power mode. I already questioned the idea of it being connected burning that much battery because even if it were connected, my phone goes into DND at 1:00am automatically. So no calls, no text alerts, etc. I also don’t listen to music while I sleep so my phone was literally doing NOTHING while I was sleeping. So although it isn’t the case because they weren’t connected, to drain 80% in 12 hours from simply being connected would still unacceptable. Today, Saturday, 01/09/2021 I had the SAME drain issue. From my screenshots and notes I used the for the first time after charging them again (keep in mind I put them on the charger while I was on the phone with Apple for about an hour) and after my call with Apple yesterday, Friday, 01/08/2021. Here is my usage. - 4:29pm to took a call. - 100% - 4:42pm Finished the call - 100% - 4:44pm placed in the low power case - 100% - 5:53pm removed from the case to use with my MacBookPro and iPhone 12 Pro Max to play/test them out more - 100% - 6:37pm back in the case while not in use and verified that they were in fact properly in the case by looking on the battery widget on the iPhone 12 Pro Max to see if they were connected AND looking at my Bluetooth settings on my MacBook Pro. - 100% - Today, Saturday, 01/09/2021 at 10:22am I removed them from the case for the first time since putting them in the case at 6:37pm last night. - 20% This is a HUGE issue that they need to solve. Not only do I feel these are about $100 overpriced due to the lack of Water Resistance when taking note of those who are having that weird condensation/moisture issue, but they don’t hold a candle to my NuraPhone in terms of battery life. I wear those for a 4-5 hour flight from Georgia to California and back, use them to listen to an album and then don’t use them for a few weeks or even a month and when I put them on…battery at 80% LOL. They are AWESOME. The battery issue, if as wide spread as it seems, makes the AirPods Max overpriced by $200 in my opinion.

I need Overear Headphones because when i use in-ear headphones my ears get painfully infected due to the pressure from the inside of the ear. And Yes i already tried the normal and the Airpods Pro , and it was the same thing sadly.

I've got an pair of MX2 and the Airpods Max, I do love bass heavy headphones where the MAX aren't in that league (but bass is really good as Max Tech mentions, just different). BUT I bought these primary for work machine for meetings and music, so my solutions has been a mixture of Airpods Max combinded with Boom3D EQ, which really can make the Airpods Max go bass heavy like the Sony - which makes them now ideal for me and I dont' miss the Sony at all.
I love mine and have no issues with them whatsoever. I fly for a living and have them on board watching movies (nothing comes close to the noise cancelling) and of course in the hotel when isolating. The battery last longer that the claimed 20 hours that apple states. I have watched 2 movies in a row and no discomfort. No condensation to report of, however I can’t really make a call on that as i basically use them on a plane and hotel room. I will say this though... i have actually banged them a few times accidentally and had them go flying to the ground when we hit some rough turbulence with not a scratch. They are built really well and will cop a bit of abuse. I am so relieved as the last thing i wanted to do was baby $550 headsets.

if the sport is water resistant (probably is) and sound just as good and lighter and $200 cheaper then nobody is going to buy this one. So I am pretty sure the sound quality will definitely worse on the sport version.

These videos are made for people worldwide, not just Americans. It is absolutely crucial to speak in a way so all people from all ages and all levels of education can understand what's going on. What may sound stupid to you may not sound stupid to a young kid from a developing country who's finding out what us entitled Americans have in our country. The least we can do is to make sure we speak in a way that they can understand too with their lack of proficiency in English. I learned the importance of this in practicing medicine as I have to teach my patients in a language that makes you feel stupid, but not someone who does not know enough English :)

Same…I Googled the issue..a dude on Reddit shows the solution to reduce the clamping pressure by stretching them for 30 seconds. Worked for me tremendously well.

Yeah a number of channels are wearing me down with the clickbaity titles. It gets views, but it cheapens the content.
They do it because of the views it gets. That is the only thing these folks care about and that is why they keep doing it. They obviously don’t care what it looks like to returning viewers, it’s all about growing the channel.

I got my AirPods Max on 12/15 with no intention to return them. I used them extensively (flight too) and they were great. They definitely sounded high quality and everything was great until I compared them to AirPod Pros. I might not have the best ear for distinguishing sound but I honestly couldn’t see much difference in the sound between the two except APM having deeper/more cinematic bass than APP (APP by no means a slouch), and maybe slightly fuller sound. As for noise cancelling the APM were great but varied based on your head movement. APP are consistent and in some cases even blocked out more sound (specifically with an air vent). For these reasons, I returned the APM yesterday. They sound great and don’t fail to deliver in any way except for the fact that I don’t see a $400 improvement (got APP for $180 on Black Friday) over APP. Their build is super premium I’ll give them that, but I wasn’t blown away by the sound over the APP to justify the price. As for condensation I didn’t experience it yet but I mostly used indoors (70 F) only.
Im getting these cause i loved everything about the Air Pods Pro, except that i don't like in ear Earbuds. APP most comfortable by far but i just cant do it for longer than 30 mins. Grabbing these so i can have all the Upsides of the Apple eco system and paying extra for comfort.

I had NO problem returning my AirPods Max. The condensation issue with the ear cups has become widespread and the battery issue loses about 32% in the Smart Case after being stored for 20 hours. You do too much click bait and all your videos do are kiss up to Apple. These things have HUGE flaws including the clanking of the ear cups if you don't take them out carefully from the Smart Case. I took them out on cup at a time and then swiveled them to their side so I can take out the other cup, swiveled it and there was no clanking. That can cause long term damage to the aluminum. The engineers failed with this device. SOOOO much potential, but the condensation and battery issues can cause users to suffer electrical shocks. Stop kissing up to Apple, please. Talk about BOTH the good and the bad in FULL detail. Your videos do not feel genuine at all.

People are noticing the condensation because it’s easy to remove the ear cups. Even xm4s have condensation! I own APM, I’ve had condensation multiples times now but no issues with battery. You talking about electrical shocks is the dumbest thing you can say😀
Had mine for a month, NO CONDENSATION EVER….battery issue fixed with a reset and now fixed via Apple update.
I used the AirPds Max refund to get the Sony XM4 and BeyerDynamic Amiron Wireless headphones to pair with my Sony NW-WM1Z wirelessly using LDAC or aptX HD. The 10-band EQ on the WM1Z Walkman adds more customization to the audio. Whatever people decide is their best way, that is what matters and I hope everyone enjoys their audio gear. I’ve had my Airpods Max for a couple of weeks (upgrade from XM3) and I absolutely love them! The build quality is fantastic, noticeably better sound quality than the XM3, and the ease of use is outstanding for what I use them for. Note I have a pair of Focal Clear audiophile headphones so these are not in that realm but that’s not what they’re supposed to be.
Your Focal Clears are a fantastic Headphone, enjoy your music and keep safe. I have a Aeon 2 at present. Have you seen the new Falcon Pro by Noble Audio, it’s a Hybrid TWS.
I had the opposite in terms of comfort; they're tight around my ears and give me headaches. And that fabric is scratchy. Plus I hate the way they shift when you move on your head because of the weight. Methinks they're going back to Apple in the next couple of days... thank goodness for their 15 day return policy.
I've loved these headphone reviews Max.For me, I feel that the AirPods Pro take a hell of a lot of beating as all round awesome earphones. The do everything really nicely and the £50 price drop (John Lewis) makes then even better. The AirPods Pro seem to fit into my lifestyle really well :) And I love the Spacial Audio for film watching :)

- Add a possibility to turn them off manually w/o this dumbass case.
- By the way, the case should be designed with the purpose to protect headphones during transportation, otherwise, it is a burdening, useless piece of garbage
- The headphones should be lighter: this is the reason why I am waiting for the sports version. Hope that Apple will be able to add at least some of these features.
I don’t know why people compare the AirPods max with the airpod pros. They are two entirely different categories of headphones and complementary in my view. I decided to buy a Max a whole year later even though I have a XM4 because a) they are significantly down in price b) they will pair better with my Apple ecosystem, I have two iPads, an iPhone and a Mac mini, the xm4 can only connect to two of them

Can't wait to try these out. There are so many great headsets in this space lately. Our customers are mostly business professionals looking for high end business grade headsets that can also be used for pleasure. An issue we've seen with some models is the call quality and connection consistency on applications like Zoom and Ringcentral are not the best. Hopefully these will test well for business applications.

Max, I have to comment on this review. Once again in the course of your review you don’t seem to focus on what is important in headphones of this type. This is a high fidelity headphone. In this category audiophiles will typically pay $500-$2000 for a pair of headphones. These headphones are in that category. The most important thing about a pair of headphones is how good they sound. Not if they are as convenient as a pair of AirPod pros or what their case looks like. The point is high-quality audio. I also noticed in your video that you were streaming Spotify. Spotify does not stream in Hi-Rez. That’s why I stopped using it along time ago. You cannot get optimal sound quality from a source that is mediocre to begin with. Apple Music now offers lossless audio as well as Dolby Atmos. When you’re paying over $500 for a pair of headphones, the point is audio perfection. That’s what these headphones are for. Also these types of reviews tend to bait you with the idea of you don’t think they’re good enough but then you wind up saying they are in fact excellent. Kind of silly. If you want convenient mediocre headphones, there are plenty of those. If you want high definition high end headphones, these are a reasonably priced option. I have never heard such impressive sub bass in a pair of headphones before. The sound stage in these headphones is remarkable as is the separation and detailing. That is what matters most in a device of this sort. Perhaps that should be the headline of this video. Cheers.
You can actually break the max down with sim ejection tool under the removable covers. There’s a tiny hole next to the headband stems. Little bit fidgety but can be done ✅

For information, mine have died and got a replacement unit just yesterday... with Apple Care you will be covered, it took 3 days only to ship and deliver with a reusable box to send the faulty ones back. So there’s that peace of mind...
I panicked yesterday too after seeing all the condensation threads but that makes no sense, in the 3 years plus in the making they must have though of that and besides 99% of on ear headphones have that and they are fine, we just can’t see it as easily because they don’t have that magnetic easy-plug earmuffs to get closer to the insides. I think mines were just a lemon.

I'm not gonna deny that the APM have a good sound quality. But you still have to remember that the sound you are hearing from them are going via Bluetooth. And in Apple's case, it's 256 kbps AAC. That's the best sound you will ever be able to hear with the APM without a cable. So the good sound you are hearing is most likely upscaled sound, which is not the real deal when it comes to listening to high-end audio.
And here it doesn't matter how good you think the sound might be as cabled sound doesn't have that limitation Bluetooth have. Cabled sound will always be able to sound better no matter what.
And not to mention that anything that is able to deliver better sound than what Spotify and Apple Music is capable of, is waste of money as the Bluetooth will just downconvert anything to 256 kbps AAC that is anything better than that.
So TIDAL with either FLAC / MQA or Deezer with FLAC is a complete waste.
Now, that 35 dollar Lightning to 3.5mm minijack adapter does still have it's own DAC in the cable. And as far as i know, that DAC is not very good. Not only that, but even if you are using that Lightning to 3.5mm minijack adapter, you will still use the APM's battery, which is stupid in my eyes.
And lastly, the 24 hours of playback time you are getting is actually not that great when the Beoplay H95 from Bang & Olufsen can put out 38 hours with ANC on. And the fact that you had your volume at 90% for that time period says me that the volume is low on the APM as others also have pointed out.
$600 and then you have to pay for a new battery in a couple years. They’re disposable compared to my sony MDR 7506 I bought 40 years ago for $80 and still sound great.

I tried them and got rid of them. There was only one reason also. That reason was clamping power. I don’t know if it’s just me or what. But these suckers are tight. I kept trying to justify them for days and couldn’t do it. I could only wear them for so long and my head would just hurt.
If the rumored sport model sounds just as good for $350, they’re an insta-buy.

If the max continues selling well, I don’t think the sports model will be coming anytime soon

I had them for 3 weeks and just decided to return them. Loved them but 3 key reasons I returned
1. condensation after 2 hours of use just sitting at my desk. Not as bad as the Twitter guys, but definitely noticeable and even looks like it went through the holes inside the drivers. The ring around the drivers also are semi-red (if you shine a iPhone torch into it). My guess is it’s a moisture ring or some sort of material that detects it and turns color. Certainly wasn’t red when in new condition.
2. The aluminium cups scratch super easy, and the silicone like headband will degrade pretty fast, as they do with my Apple silicon iPhone case
3. Travelling, just not practical. Especially travelling to tropical locations like Bali. Again condensation will be a huge problem

Have the XM4, good ANC,bass is boomy like u said, but reduce the clear bass on the app about -3 and it sounds amazing. The crispness of that treble was unlike anything I've ever experienced. Personally, the things that I really found the Sony lacking compared to the Apple is the soundstage and the ANC(if it really best the sony as it have ANC optimizer so experiences may vary for everyone). Sound quality are subjective but the mids on the XM4 are unbeatable.

I got these headphones on Christmas. DAY 1 I used them non stop in an attempt to kill the battery so I could get my initial charge out the way. it took 2 days and multiple hour sessions but in between taking the ear cups out no condensation. I live in Buffalo NY nothing but cold weather here I've tried so many scenarios and listening sessions, so I assume my pair must doesn't suffer from these cases of condensation being reported. Far as the overall experience with these, there excellent and i prefer listening to music with these as oppose to my airpod pros.

I have almost a whole bunch of all airpods models, including Max. I just want to say, I love them, but using rarely. Most of the time I prefer pro because they’re compact. The quality and noise cancellation of Max are superb, I enjoy each time I wear it ❤

Polk speakers are somewhat lower end stuff just saying lol. Try things like Focal, Bowers & Wilkins, Martin Logan, or KEF for the nicer things in the audio world. Klipsch would be an upgrade but they’re upper mid range with their best stuff.

I bought a cheaper pair of beats for working out. I trashed the last pair of headphones after a couple of years working out. The AirPods Max are staying in the studio.
At that price point, I think the shortcomings it has are inexcusable especially the condensation for headphones that aren’t water resistant

Totally agree. Just sold my Sony WH1000XM3 after trying these by Apple. I admit they’re way too expensive, but the comfort, sound, and OMG the NC and transparency mode…amazing.
As someone who uses a pair of sennheiser HD660S, 800S and also a pair of Focal Clear Professional hooked up to about 5 different DACs in all price ranges...no... just no... they DO NOT provide the same quality, not even close. I kept my Airpods Max just to have a throwaway pair for outside use.
I have bought them last night. Should get them Friday. Just hope I love them because I am planning on using them over the Bose 700s that I’ve had for several years now.

I’ve spent more time enjoying the hell out of my Max’s, and less time complaining or worrying about - ooh, mid tone quality, weight, price of an apple, eco-system, condensation, bracase - or any other made-up reason people try to convince themselves there is, so they can justify something they want isn’t worth it. @Reharmonized that’s why you invest 56.00 in apple care and let er rip. If there’s gonna be any kind of problem going forward you’ll be covered. I think it’s a cold climate with a very hot head, coupled with extended wear times. For the most part.

@Reharmonized This is a thing, however it’s not unique to these headphones. Look around the web and you’ll find condensation issues with all closed-back over-ear headphones. It’s not hard to find discussions of this topic that have nothing to do with APM. Whether the problem is worse with APM, I don’t know, but it is definitely not unique, nor uncommon. I know I haven’t seen any signs of this with my own, but then I almost never sweat.

How’s the sound compared to the M50’s?
I returned mine within one hour of opening them up and putting them on my head. The clamping pressure gave me a headache within 10 minutes. They sounded awesome. They could have been comfortable. I really wanted to love them, but they where waaaaaaay too tight.
I had loved to use the Sony MDR-1000X only for a month and then my ears got sweating and headband pain came: I can not wear it for more than 1-2 hours. And then headbands started breaking after 2 months. No service was available in S. Korea for the buyer from Amazon US. This bad experience has permanently stopped me to purchase any item from Sony. And I may give the AirPods Max the try soon.
I bought a pair in silver, very impressed with sound, battery, quality of materials, seamless integration with my iPhone and iPad. I too think could have a little more bass but yes compared with Sony sometimes it’s not all about bass. Yes spatial sound and ear shaking was cool and impressive. Yes this headset is a recommended item to buy.

Have purchased 1 1/2 weeks ago and used extensively. I have worn them for 4-5 hours straight, many times, with no problems. I do not notice the weight at all. The top band is noticeably more comfy than the Sony XM4s. The ear cups got slightly warm after an hour or so but not uncomfortable at all. Clamping pressure is not a problem for me and I have a big melon. Again, after an hour or so, a slight readjust without removing them was all it took. Expensive? Yes, no question. Worth it? Depends on what you want. I went from the new Sony XM4s and in some instances, I do not notice a lot of difference in sound quality. In other instances, its very much better with the APM's. Transparency and noise cancellation are far better than the Sonys. The case, well, yes its a POS. I will get an aftermarket case once they become available. The Sony XM4 case is very good and too bad Apple couldn't have made the APM foldable as the Sonys are. But as all my flights (when I can fly) are long haul, these are not big issues. Comparing the Sony and APM side by side, the build quality is so much better on the APMs. Each to his own, your mileage will vary.
I can't wear mine during the summer months. It gets quite uncomfortable for me
I am standing my ground. You should keep your AirPods Max. I received mine yesterday. After setting them up, I did other activities such as paying bills. Instead of turning my Sonos speakers on, I kept the headphones on. I currently, I have been wearing them for over five hours. After finishing my work, I wanted to watch some RUclips videos, such as yours, but not until I paired my AirPods Max with my laptop. As you can probably tell I find my pair of AirPods Max to be very comfortable.

@max tech you recommend getting apple care if you're worried about the condensation issue. But would Apple even cover that? They generally never cover water damage. Have they added water damage coverage?
Well, damages like that is what Apple care is meant to cover; damages that you are responsible for, it’s more like an insurance than a warranty
I don't think I can go back from automatic device switching or spatial audio, so if they ever decide to make these available to buy, I will probably end up with them over the 700s or XM4s, both of which, I agree, are excellent and superior values.
Well ive been using them for only 3 weeks and problems started today - Strange sound on the right speaker (like a base heartbeat that grows stronger and stronger even without music on) also no sound, headphones are showing connected on my iphone but the sound comes out of the iphone speakers, not the headphones, I had to reset every time. forget it. not worth it. I loved them when they worked, but after only 3 weeks and all these problems already who wants to deal with that? Apple offered a replacement but I think I'm going to go to the store tomorrow for a refund.

You may not be able to use your Air Pods Max in all situations. That is why the Air Pods Pro would be a suitable standby for those situations when space saving is an issue. However, when the situation comes that you are able to accommodate the Pros you do enjoy them. I have a pair of both Max and Pros on order. My suggestion to you is to keep your Air Pod Max.
I bought the XM3s and the band broke and wasnt easy to fix. I like the band on the Apple Airpods Max
I was lucky enough to get these for my bday and they sounded great, but the weight of them seriously was just too much. I didn’t notice it the first few days but I started getting strain in my neck and I realized it was because of the weight of wearing the headphones and I thought why would I bother with that when I can just use earbuds that sound nearly as good

I'm pretty easily satisfied with headphones. Got a free set of Beats Studio3 Wireless with my MacBook Pro in 2019. They click loud with the couple of buttons, but they're fine to me.
I bought mine Mine about a month ago. Have only used my Audio Technica's with dragonfly cobalt DAC 2 or 3 times since.

@@imstuff205 I would get the pros if you haven’t done anything yet. The pros give you noise cancellation that the airpods 3 doesn’t give you and they’ll be better for travel or anything else like that. Although I can’t lie, the audio quality on the airpods max is insanely good.

The transparency mode is good, but not as good as my AirPods Pro. I didn’t break in the mic’s that *well* but honestly, with all this hype, I feel like my product may be defective.
When it comes to headphones it can be rather subjective. The AirPods Max in sound quality definitely out preform the Sony MX4 but not in noise cancelation, the MX4 is king. Putting them against the Bose 700, B&O H9i and the B&O H95, the AirPods Max falls short of the B&O line but sorry Bose the AirPods are better in all areas. Sound quality in the H9i is slightly better but against the H95 they are way out of there league. At $550 would I purchase them, no, they are over priced and lack in areas that do not justify the price. Lower the price to $350 and you have a winner.
Hmm, you covered all the major points. I’m middling-impressed with APM but still on the fence. Please do updates as you use them more! The Over Ear design with aluminum cups is unfortunate, condensation wise. My main concern is weight. I’m prone to neck pain - especially when I’m looking down at an iPhone watching RUclips, drat. (As the world’s literally lowest-priority problem, COVID-19 is preventing my usual massages.🙄) And APM don’t seem to be the best fit for glasses, which I wear half the time. I accept I’m an Apple fangirl (not exclusively, I use other tech too). The interconnectivity sounds SO sweet! Kind of want to wait for Gen Two’s improvements, or at least for when I go back to commuting more and they’d be more helpful.

@@MaxTechOfficial yes, I contacted Apple support and their advice was to wipe the condensation regularly 🤷🏻♂️ that doesn’t really solves the issue. This is really frustrating, I love the look and sound of the AirPods Max 😭
I see the same thing as well. Sitting at my office desk, after about an hour of work with temp at 20 degrees celsius, I see small amounts of condensation. In the basement (where it’s cooler at about 18.5) I see more of it. Still gonna keep ‘em for the reasons Max mentions in the video.
@@MaxTechOfficial I have this condensation issue to... just after 1,5h of using them just sitting on my couch with 20 degrees celsius and 55% humidity.
When I put them off my ears feel a bit damp/humid.
I also have the Sony XM4 but no problem there.
I also let my girlfriend test the airpods max for 2.5h while gaming and surprise... no condensation... they was dry.
so it must be some body specific thing also. so not everyone will have this condensation issiue.
Having MAJOR battery issues with my AirPods Max. Mine were delivered Thursday 01/07/2021 around 8:30pm. I unboxed them, put them on and they were at around 65% battery. I listened to music, talked on the phone, watched a few minutes of some shows that utilize Dolby so I could test Spatial audio, went through the different modes, adjusted the sound in the accessibility settings…you know the works. After about 2-3 hours of use, I plugged them up to the charger (out of the case). Stayed up a bit doing some work and decided to get some sleep around 2:00am on Friday, 01/08/2021. Before going to sleep I picked up the headphones to see how much charge they had and they were fully charged to 100%. I then placed them into the case so they could go into low power mode and went to bed.
Friday, 01/08/2021 around 8:30am I woke up to go about my day. Around 2:30pm a friend of mine called, so I grabbed my AirPods Max so I wouldn’t have to hold the phone and because I was now in the mood for music while I worked. The AirPods Max were at 20%!!!! They drain 80% in 12 hours IN THE CASE.
I opened a case with Apple and they scheduled a call with me to talk about the issue and figure out next steps. Long story short from that call, they put a profile on my phone to monitor Bluetooth usage because they think that it’s possible the AirPods Max weren’t in the case properly or somehow weren’t disconnected from my phone and therefore burned through battery. They also had me enable Assistive Touch so we could enable a quick button to save the logs and data in a file for them to analyze on Tuesday 01/12/2021 at 8:00am (since we talked Friday and the person I was talking to wouldn’t be working again until Tuesday). I also agreed to take screenshots and notate every action: when I put them on the charger, take them off of the charger, when I put them down to stop using them or right before I put them in the case for low power mode.
I already questioned the idea of it being connected burning that much battery because even if it were connected, my phone goes into DND at 1:00am automatically. So no calls, no text alerts, etc. I also don’t listen to music while I sleep so my phone was literally doing NOTHING while I was sleeping. So although it isn’t the case because they weren’t connected, to drain 80% in 12 hours from simply being connected would still unacceptable.
Today, Saturday, 01/09/2021 I had the SAME drain issue. From my screenshots and notes I used the for the first time after charging them again (keep in mind I put them on the charger while I was on the phone with Apple for about an hour) and after my call with Apple yesterday, Friday, 01/08/2021. Here is my usage.
- 4:29pm to took a call. - 100%
- 4:42pm Finished the call - 100%
- 4:44pm placed in the low power case - 100%
- 5:53pm removed from the case to use with my MacBookPro and iPhone 12 Pro Max to play/test them out more - 100%
- 6:37pm back in the case while not in use and verified that they were in fact properly in the case by looking on the battery widget on the iPhone 12 Pro Max to see if they were connected AND looking at my Bluetooth settings on my MacBook Pro. - 100%
- Today, Saturday, 01/09/2021 at 10:22am I removed them from the case for the first time since putting them in the case at 6:37pm last night. - 20%
This is a HUGE issue that they need to solve. Not only do I feel these are about $100 overpriced due to the lack of Water Resistance when taking note of those who are having that weird condensation/moisture issue, but they don’t hold a candle to my NuraPhone in terms of battery life. I wear those for a 4-5 hour flight from Georgia to California and back, use them to listen to an album and then don’t use them for a few weeks or even a month and when I put them on…battery at 80% LOL. They are AWESOME. The battery issue, if as wide spread as it seems, makes the AirPods Max overpriced by $200 in my opinion.

I need Overear Headphones because when i use in-ear headphones my ears get painfully infected due to the pressure from the inside of the ear. And Yes i already tried the normal and the Airpods Pro , and it was the same thing sadly.

Ordered a pair today
I've got an pair of MX2 and the Airpods Max, I do love bass heavy headphones where the MAX aren't in that league (but bass is really good as Max Tech mentions, just different). BUT I bought these primary for work machine for meetings and music, so my solutions has been a mixture of Airpods Max combinded with Boom3D EQ, which really can make the Airpods Max go bass heavy like the Sony - which makes them now ideal for me and I dont' miss the Sony at all.
I can't wait until mine will arrive in February.
I love mine and have no issues with them whatsoever. I fly for a living and have them on board watching movies (nothing comes close to the noise cancelling) and of course in the hotel when isolating. The battery last longer that the claimed 20 hours that apple states. I have watched 2 movies in a row and no discomfort. No condensation to report of, however I can’t really make a call on that as i basically use them on a plane and hotel room. I will say this though... i have actually banged them a few times accidentally and had them go flying to the ground when we hit some rough turbulence with not a scratch. They are built really well and will cop a bit of abuse. I am so relieved as the last thing i wanted to do was baby $550 headsets.
