im in medschool and its finals week which means that my brain hurts. whenever i get a notification that sorted has uploaded a new video, my heart is overjoyed, i sing a little "YAAAAAAAAAS" and my brain hurts less. you. bring. me. joy. - and also fantastic recipes! thank you for keeping me sane & getting me through medschool. please keep doing what you do xoxoxo from Malaysia
I made this tonight with a few alterations because I'm a skint uni student and only had the money to buy a few of the ingredients. That meant substituting stuff in from other recipes I was making this week or using things I already had in the cupboard. I didn't add the wine or the balsalmic vinegar and forgot peas so instead I roasted of a red pepper (left over from a stir fry earlier in the week) diced it and added it to the sauce for flavour along with a small glug of Worcestershire sauce and a teaspoon of red pesto. Instead of peas I used some shredded red cabbage also left over from the stir fry. This turned out absolutely delicious and I'm definitely going to add it into the rotation of dishes I know I can make well and relatively cheaply. And the best part is that there is more than enough left over for tomorrow as well.
This looks so good, and perfect for making a few portions at once and freezing! My 20 minute meal (which I've done in the past when I'm too impatient to wait for the oven to heat up to do fish fingers and potato wedges!) is a really simple curry. I start by sweating some red onion, then adding curry powder, ground ginger, smoky paprika, and garlic purée. And if I'm using meat, it generally goes in here - otherwise cubes of potato and carrot are added at this point too. After ten minutes or so, I add a can of chopped tomatoes, and start cooking the rice in a separate pan. Best served with a dollop of yoghurt.
Zoiuowm Writing nice comments on people's videos is called being supportive. That's all there is to it. You don't have to watch his videos if you don't want. You don't have to be rude about it either.
Sonali Manka Singh I have a different opinion about what's support and what's pure advertisement. In case he is advertising I am not rude but helpful because I give him a hint that what he is doing is not helping him! As I said I am not watching his videos :)
Spare 20 minute? I'm making this! I live in Spain, and I've tried things like this but you guys at SORTED always have so many flavoursome recipes that I know this will be the best! Lunch tomorrow is, SORTED! X
I just got back from Barcelona and ate potatoes bravas like every other day!! so good! I love this version! I must try it now...although my favorite potatoes bravas we ate had a garlic sauce and a tomato sauce on it
My go to fast-but-nice meal is a skillet pasta. Cooked pappardelle (I start from dry, and prep everything else while it's boiling), bell peppers (I used roasted out of a jar), spinach, and feta cheese (I use cubed, in brine) in a skillet and tossed around until the spinach wilts and the cheese melts. Top with shaved parmesan. If you have anything else on hand that you feel like throwing in your pasta, that works too.
I’ve just discovered your RUclips channel. Couple of questions. English to American. 1. Are Broad beans the same as Lima beans and butter beans? And is that the same as Fava beans? 2. Field mushrooms are what’s we call Portabella mushrooms? And here we call the young, small Portabellas are crimini mushrooms or baby Bella’s. 3. To us Coriander is the seed. Cilantro is the fresh leaf. But I can follow what you mean when you say “fresh coriander”. 4. Just a question about onions. Size? You’ll say one onion and I have never seen a dry onion (red or yellow) that small. Maybe you can add clarification as to the amount. Like, 1/2 cup diced? 1/4 cup? 2 cup? I love your shows. They are so much fun! 😊😊😊😊
SORTED Food mouthwatering as always! This is definitely a super comfort food for me. Give me a bowl of this, in front of Game of Thrones and I'm the happiest man in the world.
Why did I decide to watch this video when I was already hungry? Looks so yummy... I'm not sure if the food my roomate is kindly cooking right now can compete with it...
Made this tonight for dinner ~ huge hit! Used Andouille sausage instead of chorizo b/c that's what I had, and rocket b/c I forgot to get parsley. I like rocket better anyway... Anyway ~ the fam loved it, and it was indeed super quick and easy. Thanks again!!!
:O Did you see that? Mike just cooked a whole dish with neary a help from Ben save passing the herbs, onions, and other foods to him. [A whole crowd behind me cheers.] Well done Mike! ;)
For me, in 20 minutes, I'd cook up a bit of salmon in the oven - wrapped up n parchment paper with salt, pepper and maybe a little white wine - and then in a pan just cook up some cubed sweet potato and cubed brussle sprouts. So tasty!
When I need a quick meal I usually go for stroganoff. I use ground beef instead of stew meat or I whip up some katsudon ( Japanese fried pork with rice and onions) so good and so quick.
It's a little over 20 minutes with prep time but super easy. Stuff a chicken breast with goat cheese and spinach then sear to get colour. Chop onion, peppers and mushroom and slightly sauté. Add chicken, 3/4 can of beer and veg to a casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes at 400F. Any left over spinach added with veg make for a nice warm salad and the chicken is super juicy.
Another recipe (one that I've made several times) that's really good is Chorizo and Sweet potatoes with onion, chicken, and grated orange zest over the entire thing and bake!
I think it's important to point out that the chorizo you're using is Spanish-style chorizo. Here in California, it's hard to find anything other than Mexican-style chorizo which is wildly different (the main difference being that it is raw instead of cured).
Ben is perfectly pronouncing chorizo, that's how we say it in Spanish. Well done Ben! Now, that dish has nothing to do with patatas bravas... It's similar to patatas a la riojana, actually. Check that recipe out guys :)
My version of easy: pop chorizo and potatoes in oven with a few slices of lemon, garlic (still in peel), oil, salt and pepper in a 400 degree F oven for 30-40 minutes and then you're done! No fuss on the stove :D
Ben often starts with "First things first" and I can't help but complete the line with "I'm the realest!" in my head! How about make a Sorted version of Fancy by Iggy Azalea, and call it Hungrumpy? :)
Ayob Aleko Grape juice would be a bad option since it contains alot of sugar and red wine without the alcohol does not taste like grape juice... The redwine vinegar with some water is a great option though.
As Coraline Duval says, the alcohol will evaporate as it cooks. But you could try about 100ml of water, 50ml of tomato juice (fresh or tinned), and a shot of red wine vinegar (it's non alcoholic, don't worry).
I wouldn't call this a traditional Spanish dish, but you're the only British cooking show who don't make nonsense dishes and call them "Spanish inspired", I love that :_) (Check out Gordon Ramsay's hot gazpacho recipe to see what I'm talking about, if you would).

"while you're waiting on something, you can always move onto others", classic heartbreaker.

That's great! One of the best parts of cooking is trying out new ways to make recipes suit you. 👍
"This recipe is just like an ice cream sandwich. Just take away the ice cream and the sandwich" -Mike 2015.
Lol the intro. This looks so wonderful. I love chorizo and potatoes

Love this!
Donal Skehan the more I see you commenting on every cooking video I watch the less I want to visit your channel
Rude. His channel is awesome and he's awesome for supporting other channels.
Sonali Manka Singh he is not supporting others but advertise his channel. Btw it's not rude

Ben knows how to properly pronounce chorizo: chor-eeth-oh . I am from Spain and I approve.
Très belle recette, merci et bonjour depuis Paris !..

i've been living in Spain this whole year and that looks better than anything i've eaten so far!! :D so yum!
For me, in 20 minutes, I'd cook up a bit of salmon in the oven - wrapped up n parchment paper with salt, pepper and maybe a little white wine - and then in a pan just cook up some cubed sweet potato and cubed brussle sprouts. So tasty!
sorted food makes my day better, I am not entirely sure why.
Because we love food
alex edmonds because they truly have a passion to share their expertise and ideas with us. Also they always look like they are having so much fun! 😊

Haha loved the intro with the ice cream sandwich :-D I love chorizo wiht new potatoes.. such a rich and yet simple dish!
Chorizo is the sooo goood !! i'm in love with that sausage!
I have several recipes that are under 20mins to prepare, & one of my favorites is Spaghetti Aglio e Olio! Fast, easy and delicious. :)
I actually thought Ben was going to drink that red wine for a second XD
Loving the quick recipes!

Sorted Eats Spain! I'd love a tapas playlist
Oh I almost forgot - great background music :D
Great recipe. have you guys ever done videos on recipes for diabetics?
Looks so tasty and beautiful plate!! Thanks!
Another recipe (one that I've made several times) that's really good is Chorizo and Sweet potatoes with onion, chicken, and grated orange zest over the entire thing and bake!
Intro had me laughing! Great video guys!
Ben you once said that to boil root vegetables we need cold water to start off with - why are you using boiling water here? Love this recipe!
Love this simple and delicious recipe!
Life saver trying this out tonight!
I think it's important to point out that the chorizo you're using is Spanish-style chorizo. Here in California, it's hard to find anything other than Mexican-style chorizo which is wildly different (the main difference being that it is raw instead of cured).
Yeah, I just figured that out after butchering 2 different dishes that call for chorizo here in Houston.
I really like the music in this recipe :)
That sauce looks good, im gonna try it with spaghetti and meat :D should work as well
Why on earth will I want an alternative to ice cream for dinner?
Melissa Flaquer Who knows? But in case you do, this will be here waiting :)
LOL!! MIKE'S INTRO!!
#brilliant
Love the new background music!
This recipe is amazing!! What cameras do you use?
Love it! Going to make it using vegan chorizo! Yumm!
So many good things in one dish! Yummmm!
That looks amazing! I miss Spanish chorizo so much!
This looks great i'm going to have to try this one soon
Usually I'm only making sweet treats for my brothers to have while revising, so in 20 minutes, I think I'd just make a little brick of rocky road :)
TheArg17 Good choice!
Ben what's the difference between your "glug of oil" and "shot of oil"? 😋
Elizabeth JJ Hey! There's really no difference, just mixing up the way we say things! About a tbsp should work!
wanna make this soo badly, looks soooo yummy!!
If I had twenty minutes spare in the kitchen I would probably make tuna fish salad. It takes less than twenty minutes and tastes amazing.
I love your chorizo and feta couscous dish with some grilled shrimp! It's delicious! :)
My go-to 20 min dish (especially during high-stress weeks) is pasta carbonara. Ultimate comfy food.
Ben is perfectly pronouncing chorizo, that's how we say it in Spanish. Well done Ben! Now, that dish has nothing to do with patatas bravas... It's similar to patatas a la riojana, actually. Check that recipe out guys :)

do you have an alternitive for the red wine?
If I had 20 minutes in the kitchen I would cook ramen noodles, three times... I love ramen noodles
With 20 spare minutes, I would make a fish finger sandwich. Unbeatable.
Is there a substitute for wine in the tomato sauce recipe?
Ben often starts with "First things first" and I can't help but complete the line with "I'm the realest!" in my head! How about make a Sorted version of Fancy by Iggy Azalea, and call it Hungrumpy? :)
Plz don't D:
Tatobun! Get out
I can't believe there was a time when Sorted was a trio and we went "plz more Mike in the videos!" Ha. We were SO right.
Looks amazing lads, gotta try it!!!
Is there a substitute for the red wine?
If you worry about the alcohol, you have nothing to worry about, because it is cooked, the alcohol is evaporating in the air so no more alcohol:)
Farhana Aktar grape juice and/or redwine vinegar and some water/ stock
Ayob Aleko Grape juice would be a bad option since it contains alot of sugar and red wine without the alcohol does not taste like grape juice... The redwine vinegar with some water is a great option though.
As Coraline Duval says, the alcohol will evaporate as it cooks. But you could try about 100ml of water, 50ml of tomato juice (fresh or tinned), and a shot of red wine vinegar (it's non alcoholic, don't worry).
Debby Custers i doesnt really know about the grape juice one, i just heard it, i dont know the taste of wine, im 17 and not drinking alcohol either.
I would spend it watching sorted videos, then have that ice cream sandwich you were talking about earlier ;)
Looks delicious!
Looks super good guys! Btw when is ur sanfran stuff going to be uploaded? Safe travels!
Would this taste the right with sweet potato? I assume you would cook the same way.. Thoughts?
How many does this serve? Thanks
I wouldn't call this a traditional Spanish dish, but you're the only British cooking show who don't make nonsense dishes and call them "Spanish inspired", I love that :_)
(Check out Gordon Ramsay's hot gazpacho recipe to see what I'm talking about, if you would).
Is there an alternative for the wine?
what can i use instead of wine?
This looked so good! gonna have to try this (:
what is the best comfort food?
Is there anything I could use to substitute the tomatoes with?
***** wow thanks, that sounds really nice actually :)
Nice sweater Mike!
Also, you should come to Seoul. SEOUL. Our eating culture has been thriving recently :)
Can I buy that sorted spoon?
There are jo halal chirizo available in canada , so what can I replace it with
I totally want to see you guys do a ice cream sandwich recipe :')
im 13 and i live in pain so i loove chorizo but what could i use instead of red wine
I've seen Barry saying the same thing in the Croissant recipe video, what does patty poi mean?
Gruia Cimpean Petit pois = small peas
I think it would be really helpful if during the video, you were able to suggest some veggie friendly alternatives!
Colleen Owen smoked paprika on some roast peppers for flavor, with chestnut mushrooms for texture, might do the trick :3
Is the recipe on the website? Keep clicking the link and it redirects me to the home page.
the link is not working for me at all! Help! (for the full recipe I mean)
THANK YOU FOR NOT SAYING CHORITSO.
I think it is WAY better to use seseo than a pronunciation that doesn't exist.
Is it possible to use grape juice instead of wine?
no. Use vinegar instead if you dont have wine.
Maybe edamame beans would be a great substitute for the broad beans. :)
Great recipe - I will give this definitely a try ;)
Risotto ai Funghi, my favourite 20ish minute meal.
Are they using Mexican chorizo (cooking chorizo) or the cured type here?
grimTales1 cured
Thank you :)
That moment when you're actually having an ice cream sandwich for dinner. O.o
Simple spaghetti dish will be my choice :D
Классный рецепт!
What happened to so many of the older videos? They are all privated D:
Thank you
The recipe link doesn't work or exist =/
Ashley Feawen Should be fixed now!
