This was my fourth time reaching the top of Croagh Patrick, but the first time to experience any sort of view. This makes up for that, weather looked promising all week & only for having the time off work was it possible.
Wow!! That is something else, simply jaw dropping footage, and great music to accompany it. I'll have to put this on my places to visit when I'm back over later in the year.
@@donnavansenior Croagh Patrick is a good one to see for sure, and the nearby town of Westport has a great vibe if you’re staying there.. You wouldn’t be far from Achill island then too.. you can drive onto that one so no sea sickness to worry about. Croagh Patrick gets very busy during the day, a sunrise hike is the best if you have the weather for it. Allow 2 hours for the climb to be safe.
@@Mountain-Mac I drove past it when I was over Ireland last year and it looked magnificent! But I'd put my back out, so wasn't capable of any hiking for a full week. I also drove through Westport, but I'm not one for stopping in towns or villages unless I need to resupply, but it was a lovely colourful town. I visited Achill as well for few days - a night at Keem Beach, then a night near the white cliffs of Ashleam. Sadly couldn't explore too much because of my back, but I know where to head to next time, so it was a good recce mission :)

I get a sense of spiritual awe just looking at this video . Can only imagine the effect it has when you’re actually there.
