Caslav Norisavljevic A bun is a bread roll. The joke being that the elephants are always interested in him because he’s with a friend who has bread on him.
It's because in children's books, cartoons, etc in the UK elephants like buns (a type of bready cake with currants in), in some countries like the US they have a similar thing, but it's peanuts instead.
David's 'bun seller' reply is absolute genius. It's very much Lee Mack's style of punchline and you can see the genuine response he gives of laughter and respect at the same time. I'm certain the laughter went on for longer and was edited out as they have all instantly calmed down for the answer. Watching live must have been lethally funny. Especially as this episode also had Lee's 'teabag darts' part in it. Love this show to bits. :)
@ For some unknown reason British people seem to jokingly think that elephants favourite food is sugary buns. I seem to remember this motif featured in cartoons when I was little!
The amount of times I've watched this clip over the years is pretty staggering. "Kevin the bun seller" & Miles Jupp's laugh are pure blasts of serotonin. So awesome.

The great thing about this one is that the building up is so hilarious and memorable that I keep forgetting if it was true or false in the end, so I keep rewatching it over and over.
So great for so many reasons: Miles losing it, Emilia Fox being Emilia Fox, Lee doing his Bruce 'Correlation is not causation' cacthphrase followed by his elephant impersonation, then the killer "Kevin..." line.
“Kevin the Bun Seller” has to be near the top of the best jokes on Wilty that’s gotten the biggest most honest laughs out of the panel. I haven’t seen Lee laugh that hard since “How much notice did you get?”
@@hibm413The joke is that the elephants aren’t running up to David, at all; they’re running up to Kevin because they smell sweet buns or rolls and are hoping for a tasty treat.
My pick for biggest laugh would actually be Rory from the 'This cat followed me from 100 miles away' clip. It wasn't really a quality joke that did it, but just how David set him off so hard that he could barely talk, the audience was loving it.
There have been some great WILTY highlights. The Lee Mack key story, Kevin the bun seller, Kevin Bridges buying a horse, any Bob Mortimer story, Micky Flanagan stripping, David's bell, door, and hats, Dara's head swivel... I'm surely missing a lot of great moments.
It's hilarious how everybody in the comments sounds like a well read 54 year old english gentleman who loves poetic language just because this is an english talk show and it makes you feel classy after watching half an hour of failarmy

'Kevin the Bun seller' Beautifully timed! haha
As hilarious as David Mitchell was in this, I got such a kick out of watching Miles Jupp trying not to die suppressing his laughter!
Yes, I always love how much enjoyment Miles gets from listening to the others tell their stories.
Every time he is on 😊
Doesn't sound like he was trying to suppress anything to me lol
I think there’s a video of Miles laughing and losing his mind haha
Miles cracking up is gold.
He's one of the best liars too. Smart guy, very generous with the laughs
Only just found the other week, The News Quiz which he hosts on Radio 4, and it is bloody hilarious. He's very funny, his timing is first rate.
his laugh is so contagious
I love it when a joke kills all the other panelists. Kevin the bun-seller is solid gold.
Emilia has the most adorable laugh

I dunno why, but every time Miles Jupp is on any show and starts to laugh, I start to cry with laughter also!
I had to watch this video twice, the first time I was too busy laughing at Miles' laugh to actually listen to David's story
