The tactical switch during set piece from Arsenal shows you what they are building is scary.
They're so well drilled in all aspects - signs of a top quality team 👏
@@StatmanDave Excellent breakdown bro 👏👏
Another reason why we want Rice taking it is for the counter. Martinelli and saka are on the edge of the box to help prevent counters with their pace. We saw that issue against Liverpool at anfield and haven't seen it since.
Ben White and his shithousery is legendary, I love it!!!
Remember when he wanted everyone to refer to him as Benjamin. The lads a world class troll. 😂😂😂
Arteta showing how much he’s learnt from last season to prepare and strengthen the team. 🔥🔥🔥
Instead of breaking down low blocks Arteta is going over them and I'm here for it.
They'll try to give themselves the physical and aerial mismatch in their favour, if they can't get that - they'll create an overload in the zones they want, if they can't get that - they'll position themselves to get a running start on their defender. The defence needs a virtually perfect setup to avoid conceding or otherwise pray the delivery is poor. Even if they can organise a defence to account for all that they can use it as a decoy and work it from a short corner into an out of shape defensive structure. How do you stop that? Arsenal are already a top side in open play but improving to where wide players can swing a cross into the box, cut to the byline or earn a corner and all being equally as dangerous
Thank you that was a fantastic analysis. Well done
Amazing wow great content. You are on another level not only in understanding but communicating.
The Brentford scored by blocking our players and the ref allows it… it opened a can of worms.
There is nothing wrong in blocking, Brentford held Bernd leno in our case
Hey Dave! Haven't seen you in a long time.
Could you tell me what software you use when showing the tactical analysis, with the players and positionings and everything, or an alternative?
Thank you
Great video Dave, really enjoy your work mate!!! COYG'S!!!!
Fantastic inside info bout Jover, especially his Richy time an how it contributed t their '19/20 setpiece overhaul.
Interesting.
😊😊😊
Your content is elite, thanks for putting them together!
Great video bro 👍🏾✊🏾
Thanks man 👊
Don't give our secrets away, man!
The stats does not tell the whole story. It does not account for second and third phase of set piece. I bet those numbers are impressive as well
Honestly stats for set pieces are almost as bad as they are for pressing. Loads of providers have different numbers and barely any break them down into free kicks & corners let alone 2nd & 3rd phases
Excellent breakdown and here i am trying to replicate this setpiece routines in fm 😂
Great analysis. Its the little things that separate champions from the rest. Kudos for Arteta's attention for details
Surprised the rules don’t protect the keeper during corners.
This is Gold!
Statman i got a question right, if u were a manager what type of football would you want to play Or implement and why? Nice vid btw❤🔥🔥
A Vertical tiki taka style.
Gegenpress to create.
Solid defensive structure.
Flexibility.
@@StatmanDave 🤔 how fascinating
Loving the video and the new setup, Dave! Where did you get the United art on the wall behind you? I'm focused on the Old Trafford and 07/08 lineup ones
Ooh had them a few years now. Let me have a look and I'll see if I can find more information for you
@@StatmanDave What a guy! Thank you very much. I’ll be finishing school soon and want to treat myself
Good sides are good at everything and set pieces often get overlooked so fair play to them
great video but at 16:00 it shows burnley beating arsenal 5-0 which it should be the other way round and sheffield
I remembered the vid you did on why arsenal need rice an u said he would be a good 8 ur ball knowledge is top tier mate 💯💯🤞🏾
Great, informative content.
The doubters said Arteta would do nothing with Arsenal due to his lack of experience. 4 years on he's giving well-seasoned managers in Klopp and Pep major headaches. The trophies will come whilst the haters keep hoping he fails
Hey Dave could you make a video on whether or not INEOS should stick with ten hag next season?
No doubt other teams will be working hard to counter Arsenal tactics so the specialist coach needs to continually evolve his instructions
Vídeo incrível!
Hi Dave, could you do a deep dive into the Arsenal vs Villa game?
Another banger 🎉
Dude is lowkey exposing Arsenal's tactical secret.
Lord Kai
Loving the return to form of Havertz - brilliant to see him playing with confidence again.
Dave, admit it - you are a closet gooner 😊😅😅
Blocking, overloading zones, decoy runs, release packages, timing - the Premier League is finally learning from the NFL where every play is a set piece
I believe Arteta spent some time around Sean McVay last summer. MA has definitely taken a few of the set piece aspects from the NFL.
Make a video of who Manchester United should sign as a new set piece coach as we have been terrible at it both attacking and defending.
small note - saliba wears no 2 not 12 now
Porto is the team that tought arsenal how to defend, it's was good we meet Porto at that time
@statmandave This is snitching for me 😮 please delete 😂 I wanna see an arsenal title parade before I die I beg
Do you seriously think that actual professional coaches don't already know this, or can't see it from film study?
@@bryangan2224 I don’t think anyone at Sheffield Utd has this capability nah 😅
Any manager that’s a “Spaniard” is usually a barque or pep
Great to see Arsenal being street smart for once.
so where was this set piece mastery against Fulham ,West Ham in the other game and Porto?
It's all Jover now
😂😂😂
Set piece goals are going to be key to winning when facing City and if Arsenal go deeper into CL.
Watch it closely and you’ll see two players grip opposition players in head locks. Usually White and Havertz. You won’t hear a word said about it tho unless it’s against City.
If its a secret why you telling everyone you snitch 😡😡😡😂
Our set peice almost like Penalty
Mate your giving it away 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ great video lad
i know....😢 Hopefully they dont watch RUclips.
Wonder if Jover watches NBA?
I need to watch more NBA.
I feel like this is more like NFL play design.
In NFL it's all about scheming your receivers open, by getting separation (the exact word Dave uses in the video more than once). It's also from a static start, in the same way set pieces are.
The obstacles to overcome are similar: zone versus man defence. There are zone-beater plays and man-beater plays. Each can be called, based on how the defence lines up.
The uses of offensive players are similar: decoy runners/blockers. Players can get separation through play design or simply physical mismatches.
Interesting point. I don’t watch NFL. I do watch NBA and though with players using screens I seen the similarities. Cheers for you input 👍
@@rld1982pretty sure Statman Dave said "in motion" too which is fairly common when talking about offensive plays in NFL
@@mjwoodroff8446good point.
saliba # 2
Force of habit from last season 😂
Remember when crappy Stoke City and Pulis terrirized Arsenal with set pieces!
Arsenal are the new Stoke.
@@MegaMicraman
The new Stoke? In league 1?
it seems arsenal need goal scoring free kicker. not a striker.
All of last year we had Martin muffing it. Hope him or Declan looks to have the killer foot.
my guy PLEASE invest in a pop filter
Please delete this
You need a pop shield mate
I'm worried Pep will see this.....🤭
That bald fraud won't do nothing
hahaha wtf@@StatmanDave
For the UK Viewers, who I hope is your biggest viewership
92kg = 14st5lbs
73kg = 11st5lbs
Cheers lad. 👍
Dude you need a pop filter
Wtf is this video
I know you are loving what you’re seeing from Arsenal, Liverpool and City cause I am as well but doesn’t it hurt you inside that you don’t know when you’ll ever be able to do this for United🥲 as a United Fan as well?
Man ...these videos only education for the other teams take it down
