    Good day doc, what is the difference between cephalopelvic and fetopelvic disproportion?

    • @inairabon9528
      @inairabon9528  3 года назад +2

      usually cpd would mean that there is a contracted pelvis...we use the term fetopelvic disproportion more for cases where the baby is too large

    Doc, thank you for the explanation. This really helps, I'd just like to ask what does expectant mean in the preferred treatment for protraction disorders?

    • @inairabon9528
      @inairabon9528  4 года назад +5

      Byron Ray hi expectant management basically means that you dont do any active management like starting or increasing oxytocin infusion (to make contractions stronger or more frequent) or doing a cesarean delivery. with expectant management, you just observe and continue monitoring the progress of labor while monotorjng also the fetal heart rate pattern while the px is hooked to a cardiotocogram... the opposite of expectant management is ACTIVE MANAGEMENT (oxytocin, cs delivery, etc)
