I corrected somebody at work today and after I corrected them I said "So sorry 7up" They didn't know what the hell I was talking about. I had to explain it to them and then they said "Oh yeaaahhh I remember that"
yo i was born in 82 and I don't ever remember seeing cans shaped like that, unless they were on tv. I do remember when they had 12 and 16 oz glass soda bottles, and the 2lite had this think black plastic peice on the bottom..
Longer than just a minute, lol , I remember when I was a kid all the 90s sprite commercials were targeted at black people... Always had a hip hop theme, rap artists or NBA stars sponsoring, and slogans like "Quench Yo Thirst"...
Can you imagine what would happen these days if a rap artist actually took the time to school viewers like Kurtis did -- in an endorsement for a soft drink!? I give him major props!
Oh, so that's why I can't find Slice anywhere these days! Well, can you still get orange Slice? Or wait, did they make Orange slice? Because maybe I'm thinking of Orange Crush....
@StreetballAttitude church he left rap i know why...cuz they were askin for something called a soul many rappers have left the game cuz of that but rappers dont do that now at days
@OneRyt Yeah I guess there are those who humiliate themselves for $ such as Soulja Boy. Although Kanye claims he's getting "harder," so getting bad attention at first might get a lot of people to respect him later.
@wdsftygt So are peace, education, medicine, etc. played out and geeky? Multiculturalism is a permanent and essential thing just like the former 3 institutions.
I still remember this song by heart after all these years. I love jingles. I'm a jingle geek.
Just discovered this today. Sprite has always held down hip hop. And they continue to do so after all these years.
Ive been saying SORRY 7-UP! for 28 years now ever since I saw this as a weeee lad
Ken Hupp me too 😂😂 I was 7 when this came out.. And that's the only line that ever stuck out in my head 😭
I Love This Sprite With Kurtis Blow Video Commercial From May 1986, Forever.
Can we just take a second to give sprite their flowers for always supporting the culture 💪🏽
I saw this back in 86 when I was 7 years old. Because of this commercial, Sprite is my favorite drink.

Happy Birthday Kurtis Blow.
I'm pretty sure they still make Orange Slice. The other Slices from the 80's-early 90's like cherry, apple, and Dr. Slice are gone though.
Whatever it is Kurtis is taking because he was right on here.
