- Welcome to my all new 'How To' series, focused on a tutorial based video setup, all new for 2022! In this video, I'll be showing you how simple it is to make a standard Scenario for Train Simulator 2022 and includes the following:
Setting up the Scenario (Weather/Time of Day/Description)
Adding a Player Train and setting this up with route
Adding AI passenger traffic and setting up their route(s)
Adding 'Blockers' to simulate being held at Signals
Adding people into the scenario to enhance the realism
Lots, if not most, of what you need to know is covered in this helpful guide! Do let me know if you do have any other queries though.

Thanks for this mate. I know it’s an older video but I’ll give it a try. As I only got into TSC last year I’m way behind and want to buy more AP stuff but have never been sure how to use it. Cheers
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was really confused when trying to make a scenario, this helps everything! Now I can get to my Pretendolino scenario.
You are most welcome, glad my video could be of some assistance! 😄
This helped me a lot but how do you know the destination code for your service so example Paddgtion
Absolutely Amazing. Awesome tutorial. Thank you so very much for your time and effort here!
Quick question. Where do I find the "invisible engine"? Thanking you in advance for your help here!
Hiya! I have responded to your comment on another one of my videos pal.
thank you for making this video, It helps me A LOT
You are most welcome. happy to help!
Thank You Very Much ,This Was Very Useful.
nice video mate now i am working on a bunch of fun but realistic trains on routes now
Awesome, do give me a link once finished if they get uploaded and I'll happily give them a whirl!
@@lmsimulation413 i will but i do need to sort one service out though on a ecml south scenario
Thank you so much!!! You helped me so much!!!!!!!
You are most welcome!
You didn't say how to place a scenario marker 😅
There is always something you miss! No worries, will be doing a more in depth video at a later date.
This is great!
I want to make a train run ahead of me, but it gives me error saying they share same line.
Then I tried putting AI train ahead, in the next signal block, it runs, but if I want to stop it (just to simulate red signal for us to show how busy it is), it gives error. Any lua script or anything by which I can do it?
There isn’t a script you can buy unfortunately. TS has its limitations with AI and it isn’t prototypical like real life unfortunately. In order to show a red, I often use a ‘Invisible Blocker’ loco rather than a train and this will occupy a platform until a certain time to simulate the red signal being shown to the driver outside the station. In terms of following trains, if you set your priority to ‘Stopping Passenger’ and the AI you are following to ‘Express Passenger’ it should work then, although that is not a perfect system. Best of luck.
@@lmsimulation413 Thank you soo much for the reply! I'll try this out!
thank you very much! sincerely, your 170 subscriber
Welcome! I hope you enjoy the channel!
Hi , how do you get the settings thing to edit the scenario I cant seem to find it
The game doesnt allow me clicking the Player Consist button. Please help
if i wanted to make a shunting scenario, where i build a train with cars that i pick up from various sidings. and then take that train to a new yard. how would i do that?
Hi there,
That certainly isn’t difficult, but would be a pain to try and explain in a comment. Instead I will produce a video showing you how at some point - so keep an eye out for this in the coming months.
11:38 which menu are we talking about? Because of the RTT tab on I can't see it. Thanks
Thanks, only realised this post filming. I will get a screenshot of the menu I mean and post it below for you. Will be later today/tomorrow when I will post this. Thanks!
This is the button I mean, which allows you to access this menu, hope this helps! - ibb.co/ydPktzf
Thank you much appreciated! Keep up the good work
Do you know how to add headboards from other locos without them just floating when the loco moves?
Headboards are supplied as part of locomotive textures and therefore can only be applied on the relevant loco that they come with, usually applied via changing the loco number in the scenario editor. If you apply them via any other means, they are simply static objects and as you say, do not attach onto locomotives. There is no other way to achieve this, and it is a limitation of the game design.
@@lmsimulation413 Do you have any idea on how to do it? If so mind doing a tutorial.
@@TheDelticMan As I stated, these are loco specific and all the details on how to apply these (if they are available with the 3rd party addon) is in the Readme usually, just done by changing the loco number in the editor. It's not enough to warrant creating a full length video, however I will be looking to incorporate it into another video in the future.
please tell me how to do this, OK so I bought a train in the shop, but I can't add it into the pacific Surf liner route in free drive. It only shows up in the career sessions
Did you purchase this piece of DLC on Steam? If it doesn't show up in Free Roam's, you can edit these and add any DLC you wish through the edit function, simply press 'Pause' when in Free Roam and press 'World Editor'.
I'm having trouble with trying to set a destination, how do I overcome this? Any help would be much appreciated :)
Hi Jamie! It should be very simple, you simply select the driver icon on the player train in the editor and there should be a line to set the destination. Simply press the button, then go to the 2D Map (9 Key) and go the place on the map you wish to set the destination to, and click on the siding or platform and this should create a route for your train from its current position to this location.
@@lmsimulation413 I know now where I was going wrong! I wanted to stop the scenario I wanted to create at Dore & Totley but it wouldn't allow me to! Had to settle for Sheffield. Thank you for you help :D
@@jamieneil6123 I'm glad you made it work in the end. Happy simming!
Would this work on any scenario mate and also great video!!
Hiya Harry, thanks for the kind comments! This should work on any 'Standard' scenario, obviously 'Career' and 'Free Roam' would be different. I don't use the 'Timetabled' scenario function.
@@lmsimulation413 ok that’s great could you maybe do a video sometime so you can show me how to make the scenario from Newcastle to Morpeth (just trains Newcastle to Morpeth) Have a good day:)
And I would really appreciate it I just want to go in Morpeth dmu reverse sidings
And love your channel:)
@@harrystrainvideos9669 I do actually have plans to create a scenario from Newcastle up to Morpeth utilising the AP 156, watch this space!
How do you get the AI TRAINS to repeat the route schedule endlessly?
Hi, this isn’t really a feature embedded in the TS software unfortunately. You would have to set a start and end location but put the same instructions in maybe 10+ times, although that could cause the game to throw errors as it won’t understand what you are trying to achieve. It’s not very user friendly, and features like this, although useful, are omitted owing to the game’s age.
@@lmsimulation413 They have this feature for Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019 and 2022, but not Train Simulator 2022? That's odd they add all the extra detail elements that makes the game a bit more challenging to play, instead of making the game fun and easy.
@@MessengerKeyson99 yes, the Trainz series are still fully supported whereas TS2022 is now known as ‘TS Classic’ because the developers are now fully supporting Train Sim World 2 as a replacement simulator for TS2022. So the core game of TS2022 hasn’t changed since it’s inception in 2008.
Hi, I haven’t watched through the whole vid but how do u get it to go across a selection of routes such as WCML south, WCML Trent valley and North Wales coastline?
Hi, not sure what you mean? You can only edit one route at any time, unless the routes are merged by a 3rd party which has only happened to a couple of routes so far.
@@lmsimulation413 Well, I have seen scenarios on the workshop of train crossing routes like Birmingham or London to Holyhead. I was wondering because it has been my dream to drive a train for more than 2 hrs on TS.
@@funnygallie7863 I see, if you could provide a link to these workshop scenarios or tell me which ones these are, I will happily explain.
Ok
I have a problem with my game.When I try to.create a scenario,I get crash
That could be any number of things, even my game crashes from time to time. Just contact Dovetail games through their support network and they should be able to assist.
@@lmsimulation413 Ok, thanks!
it is possible to simulate locomotive wear ? Thanks!
Unfortunately there is no real way to simulate that, apart from visually by adding weathered versions (and that only applies to stock supplied by Armstrong Powerhouse). To be fair, there isn’t even an ability to do that in Train Sim World 3 either yet.
@@lmsimulation413 Thanks a lot!!
How do I spawn Inside the cab since I always spawn On the outside?
Hiya, I believe there is a setting when selecting the 'Driver' icon when you first set up a player consist in a scenario 'lock to cab' or similar. I am not too sure as have never used this function myself.
How to I drive the train, I add the driver and won't let me drive
Just click the play button (bottom right) once the driver has been added.
AI trains not stopping at red signal?
That is a glitch unfortunately due to the age of the game. I often have to scrap scenarios and start again if this happens.
I probably have a 5% success rate when it comes to scenarios, And by that I mean 95% of what I start is either unfinished, or I'm not happy with the finished result so I don't upload it or share it in any way, most recently an MoD train from Plymouth to Taunton, just wasn't really happy with the finished product so I'm not going to upload it
I am genuinely unsure what your point is? If you create scenarios and then decide to scrap them, what is the point in making them? If it helps, for me, I make scenarios that I know I want to accomplish and drive, so there is always a drive to finish - that is unless the game crashes and corrupts the scenario halfway through building (happens more than you think). I say keep going, purposely decide on a scenario that peaks your interest and you will find that the drive to want to finish comes much easier!
How to change speedlimit of ai train
Hi, this is not something I have ever done in the Sim, but I believe the punctuality percentage in the 'Schedule' tab is usually set to 75% and the higher this number is, the faster the train will travel between stops to achieve the schedule timings. Hope this helps.
In the middle of doing a scenario while watching
Hope this helped dude!
@@lmsimulation413 it did cheers
At around 14 minutes in you keep showing the train time table on the left and I cannot see what you are doing with the menus on the left hand side. Really annoying.
i live near toton sidings
Ugh my damn pc can’t handle this game I give up
