I'm wondering if, when this was filmed, DP wasn't still thinking about buying the Case dozer, and used that wording as a comment creator. Asked the question in a way that would confirm he could use the GPS system on the Case dozer, IF he buys it, but make the viewer think he has bought it even if he hadn't yet. DP does like to do/ say things to create more comments. I do realize there is the possibility he has bought it, though.
Well Mike, Aaron did a great job pressing your buttons today, not that he really needed to do much! I will guess you will have the plow working before your table. You are fortunate to know Joey, he will be a great resource for you. Hope to see the plow working soon.
I can see it now hypothem is gonna be getting blown up by phone and email for sure MBTS is definitely aggravating the situation for sure love the video.
Hi Mike, When you need to change those filter you will be cursing "Who put these battery cables in the way!" I think both those negative cables should have went down first then back up to the switch to keep the area for the filters clear. Everyone there stay safe.
Joey seems to fit right in with you guys. Hypotherm need to see their complaints and do some house cleaning. Love watching you and Aaron working together. Thanks for the video
Hello from Tampa, Florida Enjoyed the information from your video about the plow. On a more enjoyable note away from the cutterhead and assembly, and this is more for Aaron with a little bit of nice lumber planking you can turn that control cabinet in to resemble an outhouse with the heater
The last time you were so angry about something you came to realize it was a big misunderstanding mostly on your part and it created a great friendship.
Small recommendation for, replace that battery switch with a flaming river one. I’ve had issues with that style as they get older.. the flaming River ones just working they never failed
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Was funny to hear you so fixated on your new rant that you apparently overlooked the spoiler in this video, I see from the comments I’m not the only one that noticed it. Looking forward to seeing the official video with the declaration and official sticker ceremony. Interesting to hear about the history of the beast your working on. Wishing you and your family the best.
Here is my thought about your Hypertherm issue, it sounds like your torch is made in some place overseas and your torch is on a boat and as for them wanting $400.00 to ship to it the next day deals with them needing to ship it air overnight. I have been there in the past.
Your anger is definitely justified. $400 dollars to rush an order for a $1000 dollar cord that should have been made to be adaptable in the first place. That's actually insane.
Mike, you're a better man than me. After a phone call like that, the f you pay stuff doesn't work for me at all .I would drag the pile of shit out of my shop and send everything back on the first thing smoking.
A friend of mine opened a coffee shop and the health department told him that it could take 4 to 6 weeks for the permit but if you hand over $1000 more you could have it in 2 weeks.
You can install a cab on that, machine from a old combine back hoe, bull dozer etc.etc.why or search around old machinery yards. Or graveyards for equipmet
I see one of these TYPE plows in my area of central Wisconsin. Saw them placing some tile last summer, so with the timing of your videos, it was likely about the time you did this video😂😂😂
I experienced an equipment fire years ago when the Tree Farmer skidder main hydraulic hose chafed a hole where it touched the positive battery post and burst while I was pushing logs and turning. Fire came right into my lap because we had the winter fan in use. I did a world record broad jump off the machine. I turned expecting to see the whole thing burning but there was no fire! When I jumped the engine stalled ending the flow of hydraulic oil. There was a candle flame size fire on the top of the battery which I put out with a handful of dirt. Lesson learned: secure hoses as you did in the previous video.
Good morning sunshines! Boy oh boy that company has really messed up with alot of customers! Hope you get it straightened out soon! Much love and respect from Henderson Ga USA
Watch the kick back on that dewalt drill with the 5 amp hour battery on it! I was reminded a couple weeks ago just how hard they hit when kick backs happen. Had a bucket on my lap and was drilling a hole for a chicken feed adapter and the drill kicked back, that 5 amp hour battery smacked me in the forehead and spit it open. I know better than to have my face that close but I’m an amputee and can no longer place the bucket between my feet to hold it still. Luckily I had some butterfly strips on hand and was able to get it closed up and stop the bleeding. Gotta love those painful moments of re education on shop safety!
Manufacturing shop maintenance guy here that has 3 older hyperthermia units and one newer one, all have worked well. Company has recently bought the latest model with a special new long-lasting nozzle/tip instead of the many copper parts, electrodes, nozzle, and cone on the older models. The new one-piece cone/tip assembly has proven amazingly long-lasting but 50 bucks a pop, sad part it isn't interchangeable with the older whips. As for parts, I know the replacement whip/cable has a lot going on inside and the handle/grip is also stuffed full of parts and a wheelbarrow full of money to replace. There was a board failure on one maybe 15 years ago on the first one but other than that they've been great. I believe the story I once heard was when Hobart Welder Corp was sold a few different buyers bought it and different divisions moved around the world so parts were hard to track down. This was 20 years ago so I’m assuming things have improved. I think once you’re up and running with it you’ll be happier. Like others have said keep your air supply dry and constant, they’ll stop with low air pressure.
Had the same exact experience with a company called Heco needed a planetary drive and the wanted 500 extra to walk it to the counter if I wanted it today our snow rotors plow was down so had to do it , that summer we swapped out all hecco products in our fleet to grizzly boxes
Great examples of constructive anger! But you're right, there are some people who can flip switches so easily Hang in there and hopefully, they will come through on the torch setup - Now, back to the plow!
I was rear ended s few years back. The insurance company wanted to give me about half of what I paid for a machine that was a couple of months old. After months of back and forth I went to their Twitter page and Facebook page and posted my frustrations. I had a phone call and settlement within 24 hours.
DP when crimping power cables please do yourself a big favor and get rid of the bash-a-matic cable crimper. I have used for years a set of crimpers I purchased from Horror Fright that I just recently upgraded to a inexpensive hydraulic set I bought off Amazon that work as well as the Burndy or TB that I use at work. Additionally you don’t want any “shiner’s” (copper wire) showing between your crimp and insulation. Additionally if you are not doing the crimp and solder technique in the telecommunications industry we dip cable ends in No-oxide w/grit before inserting the copper end into lug for crimping. Lastly we use colored tape stripes to identify cables/continuity and use clear heat shrink on the cable ends that way if any corrosion starts it will be easy to see. As for the household wiring on that machine I have seen a lot of farm equipment and Harry homeowners projects from the 1970’s, 80’s, and early 90’s. However with the rise of how to channel on platforms such as RUclips thankfully most people have stopped doing that silly and potentially very dangerous practice because have you ever seen what happens to a 12 volt wiring and batteries when plugged in to 120v wall outlet?
Hypertherm is an example of a lot of what's wrong with customer service in the country. They can tell you to FO and not feel any repercussions from their actions. I read Hypertherm Associates is 100% Employee Owned so you would think they would do a better job. Plow is going to be great , keep it up.
I work a rapid rotation schedule of days to nights and it's 6 am on my day off before a night shift week so I felt it when MBTS said it's too early for math. Hypotherm has crappy customer service.. a local fab shop I was at had to bulk order supplies for the plasmas because they were notorious for not shipping small shipments, only large orders..
Thx for videos! Why would you “engineer” a battery cut-off switch location that partially blocks access to filter and turbo replacements and other engine maintenance work in the future?
Agreed, on battery cables causing fires. My combine had a misrouted cable(from the factory), that arced against the engine block. Fortunately, I had a fire extinguisher!
So you have 3 850 dozers? You never said anything about keeping the little 850 yet. That makes a Gunner size, Aaron size, and a Mike size 850 now. I can't wait to see more on this tile plow project. I like what I heard about everything is updatable in the future. And you have options for the main components for upgrade or replacement parts available. What a cool project.
When I made terminals for my RV batteries, I did not use a fancy tool like you have. I used my bench vice, and all of the terminals are still good after 20 years. I bought some terminals for the #4 wire from JCWhitnet (back in 1995). Then started to make them out of 1/2" copper ACR tubing. I would cut the tubing about 3" long, clamp the end in the vice about 1.5", then fold back in 1/2 to 3/4" long. Drill a 3/8" hole in the end, and then put in the wire (up to 1/2" diameter) to the copper tubing, clamp it in the vice, and it would not pull out. Even with 100 pounds of pressure. I guess if you want to link together 2 batteries, then cut 12" of tubing. Allow 1" for the end to battery cable #2, and flatten about 3". Fold it, and fold it the other way, drill a 3/8" hole in it, then cut it off at about 1" of not flat area. Copper water tubing comes in three wall thickness. M is really thin, L is normal thickness, and type K is extra thick. For the really large cables, you might want to get some type K copper. Then if it is soft copper, it is OK to crush it in the vice. Hard copper, warm it and allow it to cool naturally to make it into soft copper. You don't have to use wire cutters on that really large wires. A sawzall with 24 teeth per inch works great, so does a band saw. One tip that I saw to get that stranded wire into a terminal, use a wire tie to hold them together and in the smallest possible group. Then insert to the terminal. Then clamp it in the bench vice.
Model A is coming along nicely. GPS will cost a few penny's - hope you have a big supporter. Is there anything you can't do. You can do engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, etc.
Loving the tiling machine project Mike...why not extend the cab while you've got it all apart...laughing at Arron mentioning Hypotherm, nearly as funny as his maths skills 😅😅😅
My Boeing fleet does the same thing.they call it admin parts in stock for contracted units. If you pay the ago expidited price 700-1k they ship it the next day..
You can get solder slugs for those cable ends at O'Reilly. Pinch the eye in the vice, clean and flux the socket, drop in the slug, heat up the outside of the socket with a hand torch, apply a little pressure to the cable and as the solder melts the cable slides right in. Won't corrode as easy as a crimp.
Well in a couple weeks maybe they will ship your torch but hope like hell they don’t ship it with USPS. Little woman ordered something small the first of Dec, it finally arrived last Wed. I also ordered something small and it took almost a month, it happened to arrive the same day her stuff arrived. Even if they use a different shipper like FedEx we got a driver that can’t drive, the drive is flat and had a little ice patches and he threw the package on the ground by the mail box over a hundred yards from the house. The other day he drove in to deliver a package and couldn’t stay on the 12 foot wide drive and the ground soft from thawing and rain we had now I can spend half a day fixing ruts and sowing and strawing the yard next to the drive. It would be nice if things were closer I’d pick things up myself and these delivery companies would go broke. If they hire a driver that hasn’t drove nothing bigger than a Prius they should put them on a bicycle to make deliveries, they have no business driving a truck.
There is a place called Terminal supply they have everything you are going to need for your project in bulk. Plus tools Good luck with hyper therm😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I had a brand new hypertherm that never worked right my problem was the local supplier they would not do anything sounded helpful but just blowing smoke saw a hypertherm rep at a trade show and after the crowd started gathering he came to the shop and made the problems go away so we haven't used that supplier since
I would disagree expert here is someone who thinks they know it all and have a bit of paper that's says they are an expert but ain't worth shit and when put into practice are as dumb as doggy doo doo
Aaron's gonna ride that hypotherm train straight to a DP coronary event...lolol😂
Mike you are correct on hypotherm we got frustrated and removed our table all together good luck
Interesting
New case dozer? I thought it was just a demo when did I miss the purchase?
I'm asking the same question. Apparently the history channel got in front of itself.
Glitch in the matrix!
I chuckled and thought get the Dirt Perfect stickers out!

Unfortunately the hypertherm situation is becoming standard practice across all part sources these days
I called someone an expert 30 years ago, he looked at me and said X is a mathematical equision and a Spert is a drop of water.
I can’t wait to see this thing in action!
I bet Clint is your way to look for your final drive. Knowing Clint, he probably has stuff in his boneyard.

Hahaha, the cab looks like a guard house at the city dump.😂😂 only kidding. Once you enclose it, it will look great😊
Another great video on tile plow. Did you put the step stool by the refrigerator so MBTS can get his Mountain Dew?
Morning guys. Joey is a great fit for you in the shop. I really like the ball busting between you guys.
