As a retired builder and remodeler and flipped a lot of houses I'm completely impressed with y'all it's not easy doing all phases of construction. I'd have to keep that one it turned out beautiful congrats to everyone involved with this build and thank you for sharing with us

@rcmike09 same, was just telling my wife I've got a bunch of mindless stupid stuff that needs done but I dont want to. Let alone the bigger projects. Winter time especially is always kind of a down turn in my motivation. I don't want to deal with the cold and getting tools and supplies and stuff.
Every time I see Oliver, I think, "wow, he looks so much like Courtney!". The very next minute I think how much he looks like Riley. Your both very lucky, Oliver is such a great mixture of you both. By the way, I always save my thumbs up until I see Oliver 😁. Flipping adorable.
Blowing the dust off out the door is something like I do. I put an industrial sized fan in the front doorway... open up the door & windows on the opposite side... and go to town with a backpack leaf blower. Tim Allen would be proud.
Oliver just watches his daddy work with such intensity, like he is just absorbing all of it and learning great work ethics from both of you. Awesome job, guys! I loved this build, but of course, I love all your projects and videos.
You guys! I was the fella that said when you started this project that I couldn't watch if you were going to try to remodel the mobile home. I don't know if you were mess'in with us on that, but it has been a pleasure watching all your vids on this project! I have been building highend homes for almost fifty years, and I can say that, for rookies, you guys have knocked it out of the park! I am so impressed with your thought processes in working through problems, Your creativity, and your wisdom in asking for help with the professionals, ( insulation, drywall, etc.), things that would have bogged you down, and sapped your energy. You guys are amazing. Having built a few houses and understanding the patience, hard work required, not to mention the frustration, I admire your determination to see the job through. Great job with the house. BTW, your editing is fabulous.
7:30 - These kind of connections are so much better than any screw in - they remain at constant pressure no matter what happens with them, ensuring that no matter how many years passed, there will be not even slightest loss of connectivity, so no resistance and no arking - very useful for houses that are not torn down every 20-30 years
I've always used outlets and switches that use screws, never had any issues with any of them. I've installed some 20 plus years ago and they are still working fine.

Riley, I'm in the middle of doing my shower and have been dreading this. I suddenly feel so much better having watched you crush this shower in "moments" I know it wasn't but you helped my confidence on it A BUNCH. Thanks!
It's coming along nicely. As a trim carpenter, I have a suggestion to avoid holes in the wall from the ledger for the upper cabinets. This method only works if you install the lowers first. I have made a box about 36" long by just under 18" wide by just under 19.5" tall. I set it on the lowers and then set the uppers on it. I then finish raising the upper into place with Viking Arm type tools. Your box dimensions may vary but typically 18" is the space after countertops and 19.5" is the space from bare lower cabinets. I hope this helps for next time.

Last big drywall project I did, my helper and I blew out the house with blowers. The neighbor saw all the dust coming out the windows and thought it was smoke and called 911 and the fire department came out. Had a healthy laugh, but some of the firemen weren't too amused.
You are going to have a good little helper in a few years. Oliver is so cute now. The puffs of hair are a great touch Pretty neat little house! Great job you two.

@14:30 your comment about extra holes in the wall for the ledgers, try putting ledgers just below the nailing rail at the top of the cabinet. You can hang the cabinet from the ledger and leave it in place behind the cabinet. No extra holes to patch.
The easy way of putting paper suits on over your work boots is put the plastic bag then suit comes in onto your foot then slide the suit over it then take the bag of your foot and repeat for the other foot makes the whole process so much easier

The point of the plastic vapor barrier is to prevent moisture from getting to the drywall. Drywall will hold the moisture and create mold on the backside.

Why is nearly every closeup on the painted drywall look as if there are craters everywhere as if there was no sanding done at all?
I had the same initial reaction, but as noted elsewhere it is designed to look that way.
The drywall was finished with a skim coat knockdown texture
Its a Textured wall. Meant to look that way.
Must be intentional, but looks terrible!
..poor attempt at skip trowel technique
