I don't agree with Orban's policy, but this is the first time I agree with Orban regarding immigration.Countries that allowed immigration to bear the consequences.
Countries signed the UN asylum treaty (including Hungary) No country is "allowing immigration" most countries work according to the treaty and their independent rule of law. Immigration is not bad per se for a country, Europe would have been bankrupt long ago as too little people are born to sustain the economies in European countries, governments walk a fine line between the population that want less immigration and companies that are screaming for more (cheap) labour. Hungary does the US-way of cheap labour, just make 1% extremely rich, and the rest of the country gets poor and is willing to work for close to nothing just to stay alive. And Orban gets his votes because the 99% of people are afraid their life will be even worse with immigrants coming to their country that will steal their jobs. ps. It is very interesting that you create such a report without even trying to show a balanced view. Normally you would voice opponents as well as people in favour of a leadership. The way you structure videos like this shows you have a clear agenda and you are not even technically try to show any truth.
But it's true, isn't it? Orban is looking east and despices the west, except for the money. He takes the EU hostage in decision making in alliance with Poland and maybe now with Slovakia. A friend of Putin and Erdogan. We can't trust him. This can't be good for Hungary. Don't complain about a missing balanced view when Orban is just simple and clear with his statements.
There is no truth other than Orban receives 5 times the amount that he puts on the table, and he uses his position as a member to get more and more in a sistematic way,
For me, the Dutch elections show that people want to get rid of left-wing ideology, and maybe Orbán is on the right track to making the right choice for all countries.
Geert Wilders only got 21,85% of the total votes and right now, it's very unlikely, that he can form a government - which is not suprising at all. Netherlands is not Hungary, where Orban can win 2/3 majority with only 3 million votes out of 7,8 million.
Dutch case is completely different, Orban is just corrupt autocrat, anti immigration and nationalist rhetorics is only a tool in his agenda to brainwash population and to stay in power. In Netherlands mass immigration has became a real problem to some extent, so it's reflected in the outcome of elections

You do realize that Putin, Xi Jinping and any other dictator does it out of pure greed right? They don't believe what they spout, the only thing that matters to them is that they are in the power. There are basic principles on the separation of power, meant to safeguard democracy as well as some basic principles of human rights that the EU demands of it’s members. Hungary has been dancing on the gray line and increasingly stepping out of line. The EU is a club of liberal democratic countries, set up to try and prevent the kind of horrors that happened during the first and second world wars. When a member starts flirting with authoritarianism then the EU has full rights to pressure their member to comply. If the country doesn’t like it, it can leave the club. Brexit has demonstrated that no one is forced to be a member of this club if they don’t want to. It would be a shame if Hungary decides that they would prefer to be outside, but at the same time, if they keep moving further in this authoritarian direction and don’t leave the EU, I think they should be kicked out.

@@EzraBenKhazar what you've wrote is generally accepted, but there is no definite clear answer. It's still open research and there are several debated theories.
The Hungarian tribes were living at one time in the Khazar Khaganate, until they were pushed westwards. Some of the Khazar tribes joined them, so indeed, Hungarians are partly Kazakh too.
@@EzraBenKhazarHere is a hungarian view for you. The origins of the hungarian nation pretty much far from the present population composition of Hungary. The hungarian language is Finno-Ugric - so relating with Finn, Estonian and north-east European smaller folks. (Manshi, Khanti, Mordvin etc.). This is the core of the hungarian language - our basic words coming from the Finno-Ugric root. Hungarian or "Magyar " tribes moved to South of Ural and migrated to West through 500 years. During this period Hungarians met with turkish folks, and few of them melted into the hungarian tribe. The Hungarians who arrived to their present place in the 9th century weared turkic clothes, used turkic war strategy and tribunal system, turkic names. After Hungary decided to baptize to christianity, the western impact became determinative. During the 1000 years long history so many invasions, resettlements, war happened in the territory of the country, the uralic population melted into the big central european genetic pool. This mean the genetical map of present Hungary very similar to the Austrian genetical map. Present Hungarians keeping their unique culture, holding Eastern and uralic impacts (for example the pentatonic folk music), and holding a unique Hungarian spirit. Meantime the present Hungarians a descendants from slavic and german people - this visible in their outlook and characteristic. According to the DNA map, the Hungarians mostly Celtic R1b (27%), Slavic R1a (25%) and Germanic I1 (21%) and South Slavic I2a (14%). As you see 87% of the present hungarian population holding this very european genetic admixture. Orbán's himself has austrian ancestry. So you can see that in Hungary the cultural heritage and the very strong spirit survived the times, meanwhile the genes are not! This is based on the Hungarian language, as we saying "The nation living in it's language!"....

Hungary is not an anti-EU, pro-Russian country, as it was said in the whole video. Yes, Orban has insane and corrupt policies and I hate him as a Hungarian. But don't equalize the whole Hungary with Orban. Most of the Hungarian population supports the EU and Ukraine.
I moved to Hungary 7 years ago from Sweden. And what I can say is that I respect Hungary's stance towards the EU. The EU has assumed the role of a dictatorship over the member states' own governments. We didn't hear a word about that in Sweden before the referendum on membership. And as far as I know, there are probably not many countries where the people have had their say about the EU becoming a government over the popularly elected governments. Here in Hungary the people were asked to give the EU an extended power over the member states and people and the government said NO. So the people of Hungary have Democratically said NO to it. And the EU must curse me if they now want to appear democratic. Then NATO. It is about Ukraine and sending weapons and money there. Money that largely ends up with the profiteer in death. And that the taxpayers have to pay. An almost foolproof business idea.
It's kinda funny when you accuse Hungarian government of "interfering with public education". If there is a few sectors state absolutely needs to interfere then it's a public schooling
Lol as someone who went to state school in Orbanistan I can tell you that they absolutely need more interference.. just not in the education material, but financial aid. Most schools in Hungary (esp. rural) are collapsing, rundown and sometimes dangerous. In my elementary school once the walls were soaked after a heavy rainstorm and it was dangerous to turn on the lights :)
Status on Hungarian public schools: in our middle school our kids had to bring their own toilet papers. We had to photocopy the history textbook for the entire class. There was no art class. But the kids were happy, because what is sold to the public and the EU as education was actually a good time for them. The teachers let them play on their phones the entire day.
I like how you depict Hungary as an "extreme outlier" in terms of energy dependence while multiple EU countries are renewing their resources purchaises from the russians. Such a shield tactic.

As a Hungarian I can tell you that Mr. Orbán's policies are serving the Russian Empire and not our country. The founding father of our nation, Saint Stephen of Hungary was very much pro immigration. He had an immigrant wife and he wrote in his instructions to his son that a country with just one language is weak. The ethno-fascist so called "conservatives" are not real Hungarians.
No, he can do this because Hungarian people let him. High time we stop expecting outsiders to save us when it's our responsibility to chose our leaders
The problem with Hungary there is no alternative on the left side which could replace Orbán. If there would be a party with left values but not supporting the migration. I myself live in a very mixed country in England and I see this mixed cultures just doesn’t work.
I live in the UK atm. The population density, immigration and economical power are just a few factors where the UK and Hungary differences multiply. We, Ukrainians, have been defending our freedom, territory, the right to rule on our own land, the right to exist and other sovereign rights from Russia since 2014, when Russia treacherously attacked, violating our agreements (Treaty on the State Border, Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation , Budapest Memorandum and others). Ukraine has never attacked anyone and has never been an empire in history. Zelensky, the composition of parliament, all previous presidents and parliaments came to power democratically, that is, they were elected. Yes, we still have a strong oligarchic influence, there are problems with corruption, but if you look at the trend, you will see progress (largely thanks to the European vector). For 300 years in the Russian Empire (and then the USSR, remember Holodomor), the Ukrainian language and Ukrainian identity were infringed on at the state level, but now we have strong support in the world and we will not give up the right to our own national state, for which we fought for so long.

So we should to practically replace the Russian gas and oil, which reliably arrives via pipeline with an American source, which arrives from the other side of the world to ports that Hungary does not have, and pipes, which ends at the national border, because our dear western neighbors didn't really care about building the right european infrastructure for the untermensch of central Europe. And just because Putin so and so, and for the holy Ukraine, where, by the way, one year after the outbreak of the war, in the former Hungarian territories (National minority areas in Ukraine inhabited by Hungarians), statues of Hungarian origin are torn down by Ukrainians and Hungarian schools are forbidden to speak in Hungarian. It would be a shame if Hungary decides that they would prefer to be outside, but at the same time, if they keep moving further in this authoritarian direction and don’t leave the EU, I think they should be kicked out.

why would there be a special bond? the two countries are historically and culturally very separate. hungary used to form an imperial state with austria, and they once or twice occupied poland or parts of it for a little while, but who hasn't?
in the 20th century, poland went into WW2 as territory divided between germany, austria-hungary and russia, and got I think its second go of independence afterwards. in WW2, hungary was allied with germany. both poland and hungary were eastern bloc members, but hungary functioned more independently and more open to the west in trade and travel than most eastern bloc countries, whereas poland was almost as much of a puppet state as east germany.
hungary has more historic ties to austria and to the balkans than to poland.
in language, hungary is extremely distinct, as hungarian together with finnish and estonian form the finno-ugric languages, which originate in the ural mountain region of today's russia and are not part of and are highly distinct from the indo-european languages spoken by basically everyone else in europe. not only is polish more similar to other slavic languages like czech or russian than it is to hungarian, but it's also more similar to german, portuguese, swedish, farsi, or hindi.

Why are you in EU? Free cash??? Heard they giving 500 euro for lazy immigrs
Because in Europe people do not vote for parties that give the EU the power to kick Hungary out.
@@alfoldmapping5504 quit the nonsense, Orbán and fidesz is what will save Hungary.
Answerable to his oligarchs, his people dont get a say.
