I remember Chicka coming to my school to fix something as I think he was a sparky or plumber by trade. This was during the peak of his career. Great bloke and awesome finisher.
He was a big hero of mine, I’m a UK Wigan supporter. I remember one of his many great tries at Central Park, our centre put him away and he flew 75 metres down the touchline running right towards me as I was sat in the wall just behind the tryline, he was flying like a rocket scored the try and me and my mates gave him a hug and hand shakes , one of the best memories of my childhood.
