@Daryl Wheeler That's Lee Thornburg, and he was a member of Tower from '85-'94 (and then briefly again in 2011). He was also in Chicago (subbing for Lee Loughnane's wife was having a baby), Jack Mack and the Heart Attack, Supertramp and many more. He presently plays with Joe Bonamassa.

I knew it! Anytime a horn section sits in with Paul and the band be it a special show (not an anniversary special) they play a brassy version of the theme music!
Also, others who have sat in with the band include most frequently, David Sanborn, plus George Clinton's P-Funk Horns, The Uptown Horns, Pat Matheny, Danny Gatton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Walsh, Jeff Healey, Joe Satriani, Carlos Santana and percussion, the 10,000 Maniacs horns, Al Chesnovitz and Bruce Kapler, Tom Scott, Van Morrison's horns, Buckwheat Zydeco, Michael Brecker, The Texas Tornados, and Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir.
1984 episodes rotated guitarists Steve Khan and Jef Lee along with Sid McGinnis (who would be permanent a short time later) after Hiram Bullock was fired.
