Hi Michael! I recently started watching some semi-pro players in my city, and they all look so explosive and glide across the pitch with athletic movements.
By comparison, when I record myself playing/training, I'm actually moving slower than I think I am.
Do i need to specifically train plyos/agility/fast feet drills, or will i gain that "quickness" by playing/training with more intensity? I do ball mastery and dribbling drills as my current training
Definitely add in a plyometrics and an explosive speed session once or twice a week if you can and not too close to game day to give your legs time to recover
@@deanbean8994 can a skipping rope session count as a Plyometric workout? I just don't have the time or the space to do proper sprinting exercises (unless I do them on the street which I heard is bad for your legs)
You don't need much space - try this workout with pogo jumps and other exercises you can do in a small space = ruclips.net/user/shortsEougAZJffQQ?si=Z8ITn3lrjHgQkSjk
Skipping rope is good too but won't get you as explosive as doing these kind of plyometric exercises

Hi Michael. Bit of a weird question. Do you tape your ankles before games or even training ? I've heard that majority of pros do it.
If pros have suffered from ankle injuries or weak ankles, they do. Personally I prefer to strengthen up the ankles and not rely on taping, but it’s definitely common amongst many footballers.
