8:03 When the cashier offered tissue, she’s actually offering napkins. In the Philippines, napkins are usually referred to as ‘sanitary napkins’. That’s why she said ‘tissue’ instead. 😉😉😉
Thank you for sharing this interesting cultural insight! It's always fascinating to learn about different language nuances and how they can lead to little misunderstandings like this.
@@tvtravelsonyoutubeBear in mind, you guys were in the more if not the most modern part of the Philippines. Aside from the skyscrapers, clubs, coffee shops, restaurants, and local convenient stores, the country also offers great scenic areas, warm white sandy beaches, historical sites, volcanoes and waterfalls. Enjoy guys!!! 😉😉😉
I say, the PHILIPPINES IS IMPROVING. imagine if this country tremendously improved? They are in the middle of Indo_pacific = SO MUCH NATURAL RESOURCES AS WELL AS NATURES LIKE PARADISE ISLAND, LAGOONS, WATERFALLS, GREEN VEGETATIONS, HOT SPRINGS, WHITE BEACHES BLUE AND TURQUOISE WATER. yOU NAME IT THEY HAVE IT.
It is definitely improving. We live in the Silicon Valley and there were more technologically advanced things in Metro Manila than here at home. They are creating beautiful areas that are going to be appealing to many more people.
The Manila Korea town is in Malate Manila while the Manila Chinatown is called Binondo and its the oldest Chinatown of it's kind in the world established in the 1500s
M.Manila has 16 business districts like Aseana, Ayala center, Circuit Makati, Rockwell, Newport city, Greenhills, Ortigas center, Greenfield district, Eastwood City, Araneta center, C5 Corridor, Triangle park, Arca South, BGC, McKinley hill, and Alabang these are the business districts that you can visit while you're in Manila. Old Manila is more on museums, parks, and the oldest Chinatown in the world.
I hope you visit Bohol someday. Stayed there for a week with my girlfriend and we were happy and satisfied. Beautiful beach, refreshing scenery and kind folks. Also, I'm from Nagcarlan and I saw in one of your vlogs that your wife's family is also from there. Travel safe!

Yep BGC is good to soften the impact of culture shock particularly for first time travelers here. Best cool months are from November to February in the 80s during the day and 70s at night.
Thank you for your positive feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and agree that Manila has a lot to offer compared to other US cities. It's always great to see cities like Manila stepping up and becoming powerhouses in their own right.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome! We are thrilled to have viewers from all around the world, including the beautiful Philippines and Maryland, USA.

Welcome!! Thank you Po! We have a lot of videos coming from the Philippines. Please tell your friends about us too. We can't wait to hear from you in the future.
Absolutely! Maintaining a positive mindset can make all the difference in our daily lives, no matter where we are. Respect and positivity go hand in hand, and it's important to spread those vibes wherever we go.
19:36 - Yeah unfortunately we don't have the "pedestrian first" culture here in the Philippines yet. This bad habit is rooted from poverty. Hopefully someday when this nation becomes a first world country only then things will get better.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on the pedestrian culture in the Philippines. It's interesting how poverty can play a role in shaping such habits. Let's hope for a brighter future where everyone's safety is prioritized.
@@tvtravelsonyoutube Haha next time you cross a pedestrian crossing and for some reason they stop for you, you know that they're either not from here (maybe a foreigner), a former OFW (Overseas Filipino workers) who has managed to adapt the western culture or they come from a well off good and educated family who knows the importance of human safety. 😊
I mean there is a ton of construction taking place and whole new city being built by the MOA. Also, the monorail system that is being put in by MOA along with 5G cable going in underground throughout Makati and Metro Manila are signs of major development projects going on and the area is developing.
Haha! Well, I guess I should start doing movie trailer voiceovers as a side gig. "In a world where RUclips videos reign supreme, one content creator takes on the challenge of sounding like a movie trailer!" 😄
It should be "BGC Taguig" or "BGC Metro Manila". BGC is not in Manila. It's in Taguig -- a city on its own 2X the size of Manila. However, I do recognize you have correctly mentioned "Metro Manila" which is correct. Thank you.
Just to correct and educate the content creator here, the Philippines was already way past the status of a "developing country" ever since the 2010s, that's over a decade already. Rather, the Philippines actually has the status called "Newly Industrialized Country". Basically, it's a middle class country with a thriving economy. Philippines is one of the countries with NIC status, alongside South Africa, Brazil, China, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Turkiye. You guys as content creators should know that by now, especially if you've actually researched enough about the country you're visiting. The title of this video is erroneous, misleading, ignorant, and discriminatory. Your title perpetuates the negative stereotype that the Philippines as a nation remains underdeveloped as 'developing' means third world nations in world economy. Why is it too "modern" for a developing nation? Because it's not a developing nation like your presumptions, it's a NIC nation. Just to reiterate, the Philippines is not a developing country (3rd World). It is a Newly Industrialized Country (2nd World). Use the correct label if you're going to talk about the Philippines and its world status. I believe you won't even use that title of yours to similar NIC countries like Malaysia or China. It screams prejudiced, a micro-agression. Change the title of your content instead of using prejudiced click-baits. 🤦♂
Actually, I was referring to the modernization of places like BGC, or the reclamation project going on by MOA, and all of the construction/installation of 5G cable in and around Metro Manila. That's all "developing" and in the works. It had nothing to do with first world or 3rd world countries. Thanks for watching and please check back for more content from the Philippines and Southeast Asia. We love the engagement.
@@tvtravelsonyoutube As if everyone’s gonna believe that?! Psh. There’s a difference between a proper “Modern Developments in the Philippines?!” title and your chosen title “A Very Modern “Developing Nation”?”… if that’s your reasoning. You even quoted “Developing Nation”… 🤨 if you really intended to refer to modernization, your quotation marks should’ve been on “modern, developing”… It’d be ridiculous not to see the difference there. 🧐 “Developing Nation” is a euphemism everyone knows which refers to underdeveloped poor nations aka 3rd World, something the Philippines has outgrown already. We ain’t dumb, Yank. Please use your English right, considering you guys are Americans. Hah, knew it. You go to Philippines just for “engagement”. Right, a not so genuine content just to boost a channel’s audience, as always. I’m not surprised, hence the erroneous, uneducated, ignorant title.
Yes. Developing nation as in the nation as a whole is modernizing and developing. We aren't a political channel nor do we try to make our titles political.
