That's honestly amazing achievement, congratulations and thanks for the insight. I also remember my first proper RUclips 'paycheck', a lot of emotions and I was so proud of myself. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (and a little bit of Famester), I wouldn't have made anything in my life.
Keep going, you're doing authentic work. I appreciate how straight forward this video is about how difficult it is to monetize, you're the only one telling the truth!@ingMurse
Congrats on getting monetised. It took me around a year too when I decided to take things seriously with RUclips. What I have discovered is RUclips is a marathon rather than a quick route to monetary success. I have decided to post weekly videos from January 2024 and will review things at the end of the year to compare how things develop. Good luck and keep on posting content. You can get lucky on some videos but most will pick up slower. You will do well, I am sure.
Thank you very much for the comment! And I agree it’s no quick process. I’m interested to see how your 2024 will compare to the previous year if you are posting that much, keep us updated! Thank you for your support and advice!
I appreciate the transparency, man. I have like 88 subscribers. I have 100's of videos but most I've set to unlisted. I'm just a little too timid to post some of the things I capture. But anyway. It's been several years since I posted my first RUclips video, so to see that you made it that quickly is in fact impressive. Shout out and good luck. I've subscribed, and here's a like on the way out. :) Have a good one.
Thank you for the comment🙂 it is a little scary to put yourself out there, you never know how people are going to react… but I’d say go for it! Post some more videos and some shorts to get those subscribers and you’ll be there before you know it🙂 good luck and take care!
That’s really good! I’m approaching my 1 year anniversary next week and my target is 200 subscribers by then… way off being monetised!! Did you get a lot of subscribers from that one really successful video, or has your channel grown quite evenly? I’ve subscribed to keep following how well you do - hopefully I’m not far behind 😎
Thank you for the comment Gary! As of now, I have gotten 70 subscribers from that previous more successful truck video. A lot of my subscribers came from my shorts, so it was a slow process. Once you hit 200 it’ll seem like you’re gaining subscribers faster and faster, you’ll be monetized before you know it🙂
Bro I say you start making more engaging shorts. As you got monetized through your long form content your rpm on shorts is pretty impressive. You can earn a pretty good amount through them. And I'm sure you'll go way ahead of 8$ in the coming time. Thanks for the video loved it
Congratulations on the milestone! 🎉 Navigating RUclips's monetization journey sounds like a wild ride, but you've shown it's all about persistence and passion. Going from a full year grind to that first paycheck, even if it's not breaking the bank yet, is inspiring. Your investment in gear and the patience with editing? Totally relatable struggles. 😅 It's refreshing to hear someone be real about the ups and downs, especially when it comes to views and what actually brings in the coin. Keep at it, and who knows? Maybe your dreams are not so far off. Here's to more viral videos and hitting that $8 mark soon - aiming for the stars, one step at a time! 🚀💼Keep it going!
Thank you for the comment Brian! It’s not an easy journey for sure, but with dedication it’s certainly possible 🙂 I’m happy to share the ups and downs, trying to be as real as possible. Hoping to be able to do it as a full time gig someday! Thank you again for the comment, take care🙂
Hi I think you have a real watchable way Cole your channel i am sure will grow and grow. It could do a lot better with very little in way of changes. I notice your honda ridgeline are all your best performers but its not obvious what your channel focus is, is it travel or the honda or could it be your travel in your honda ridgeline?. I hope you take as constructive input. The other main point is the shorts now your top video honda again where are the shorts from this i did a quick look and this vehicle gets tons of views people have a real interest. That one video you could edit and chop up and probably make 10 plus shorts and use them to drive traffic to the long form vid. Its good what your doing Cole and hope you dont take what I say the wrong way. To end well done on monetization many try for so long and give up youve kept going and you will get even better as time goes on ( define your niche though)😀
Thank you so much for your comment David! I certainly take it as constructive input, and really appreciate it! To be honest, I didn’t plan on my channel to have the Honda Ridgeline in it at all (I’m not a vehicle guy), I was just thinking of video ideas one day and had no idea that it would end up being successful! I planned for the channel to be about what I do while I am traveling, such as hiking, ocean stuff, different places we visit, etc. So I am a little unsure if I should be making a separate account for the travel videos? And you’ve got a great idea with making shorts out of the long form video, I will certainly give that a try! Thank you again for your tips David 🙂
Well done matey, ive started but havent posted for a while. Its a hard task getting subs. Ive got some great content im holding back on as i think it will get alot of attention so ill wait to be monetized, do you think i should wait or just go for it??
Thank you for the comment! That’s a great question… you are able to post your videos before you’re monetized, and once you are monetized, you can go back to your video and change the settings so you start making money on that video🙂 I wouldn’t hold back on those videos, I’d show them to the world! That way maybe you can get monetized faster. Ps I found that I got a lot more subs from my shorts than I did my long form. Thanks again for the comment🙂
@@ColeJErie Thanks mate ill edit up & get them out there, theres alot to learn on YT. Also is there a trick to uploading a "short" ive managed 1 but accidently & the other ones didnt go to shorts.
@@MrThai-wj5nj there is a ton to learn for sure! I’m exited to see your videos! And I always upload shorts from my phone, I tried to upload it from my computer but I couldn’t figure out how to do it, it kept uploading as long form content. There has to be a way to do it, I just need to figure it out 😂
I believe you can do either or… RUclips might push your channel more if you do both?? But I haven’t seen requirements stating that you have to post both. Thanks for the comment!
@@ColeJErie ahh dude i just checked again, you are right! I've been so angry for the last few months because I thought RUclips required me to upload shorts in order to be monetized.. that's great!! im not a fan of shorts.. its good in some niches but not for me. Glad that i stumbled on your video for real, that made me crazy :D i was even in the planing to create the shorts i had to do
@@VELVET462 Glad I could help! And yeah with some niches I’m sure shorts don’t make a ton of sense. But now you can go get monetized with your long form 🙂

A tip I will tell u for talking is try listening to your video at 1.5x or 2x speed and it’s good to help a nice talking speed when going off a script
