The Red Sox clip “96 years” was the 2013 World Series. 96 years refers to the fact that they won at home for the first time in 96 years. From 1918 - 2004 (86 years) they didn’t win one at all so 2004 was special I was only 7 but you could feel it. 2013 has a more special place in my heart though and not only b/c I was old enough to remember it. That was the year the Boston marathon bombing happened and the Red Sox were huge underdogs going into the season but pulled through a won it all for the city.

What are Fans in the Cricket stadium like? Is there taunting, a lot of drunks, massive amount of food, tailgating before the game, going to a bar after the game? Is there walk up songs for each cricket hitter/batter? Fireworks? Mascots? If so, that’s similar to American sports.

Definitely not as much of an atmosphere as you described. More subdue, but definitely gets quite rowdy towards the end of the game in the important moments!

I was a kid when the redsox snapped their World Series drought. It’s known as The Curse of the Bambino because it started after the redsox traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees. I still have the newspaper clipping from the paper the day after they won. Truly amazing time to be a young fan!!!

As a Dodgers fan the 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers when they won the World Series for the first time ending our 32 years of not winning a World Series. That was a huge moment when Julio Urias struck out Willy Adames in Game 6 of the 2020 World Series, we defeated the Tampa Bay Rays that year. I have been to Rochester Red Wings games (Triple-A Minor League MLB Affiliate of the Washington Nationals) and a Cleveland Guardians game in 2016 (when they were the Indians). I will be going to another MLB game this year for a 3 game series in April when the Dodgers play the Blue Jays.

2:02 That was the 1993 World Series in Toronto. Joe Carter hit a walk-off home run against the Phillies to win.
It’s regarded as the best ending of a World Series in history, unless you’re a Phillies fan.

if you want to go to a baseball game with an insane atmosphere you're better off going when its playoff time but that's really expensive. Philadelphia Phillies crowd is insane during playoff time you should do a reaction to the crowds from the last two postseasons for them. Its so big here its known as "red October" because the team colors are red and October is the begin of playoff season. I've been in the crowd myself I would know how insane it gets.

Baseball is really a defensive game. The defense controls the ball strategy is a big part of it. The score the inning and the particular pitcher and batter dictates a lot of what happens. I've heard it said that it's a casual sport that requires blinding speed. It's a game of inches.

  • @lovesgucci1

Regarding your question about enthusiasm for a World Series v a Super Bowl, NBA Finals or Stanley Cup, they are all a huge deal! In some cities it’s even more crazier. For example, Philadelphia Phillies were in the 2022 World Series and the city was literally insane during the whole postseason. You had the skyline lit up in red, on game days city hall would hold rally’s and this was all going on while the Eagles 🦅 🏈 were like 5-0. Phillies lost the WS the same day as the local soccer team (the MLS team is actually in the suburbs) lost their championship, but no one even knew we were in the Championship because no one follows soccer. Then the Eagles made it to the Super Bowl months later and it was another party but lost again! Then the Sixers 🏀 lost in the 2nd round, game 7 🤦‍♀️. I don’t follow hockey too much but the Flyers are bad, from what I hear.
**All four of Philadelphia sports teams play right next to each other, they share a parking lot! It’s insane 😂

    • @ryan_lloyd

Makes a lot of sense. Seems like the sports fan fare is spread quite wide across all those major American sports. Soccer hasn't quite taken off yet, but hopefully with the major signings recently, more attention gets brought to the MLS. Philadelphia definitely seems like one of the best cities in the USA as far as sports go. Great teams!

Oh Yeah. Winning the World Series is amazing. As a Texas Rangers fan, I am so happy we finally won our first one last year. Ik I’m late so u probably won’t see this but it was amazing and honestly clips from that series could be on this video but it was made a few years ago. Also fun fact that series of astros vs Dodgers World Series clips, the astros were cheating, they were stealing the catchers signs so they knew what pitch was coming.

There's absolutely nothing like it. I've been to some pretty special games from my State. I was at the '97 Michigan Vs OSU game with Woodson's punt return, incredible game & 110k fans going nuts is insane.
I've been to Detroit Pistons playoff wins. I've been to multiple Detroit Red Wings playoff wins, including the Stanley Cup Finals (close 2nd). However, imho nothing compares to a packed MLB stadium during the playoffs.
I was at Comerica Oct 14th, 2006 when Magglio walked off the ALCS vs Oakland to win the Pennant. That's the loudest I've ever heard a sports arena, ever. I still get chills from that at bat.

Texas Ranger fan here, to answer some of your question. Football might be the most popular, but baseball is what I call the most romantic. There something about going to opening day of baseball, the sounds of not just the fans, but the ball going into the mitt. The sound of when the batter connects ball in the sweet spot of the bat. The smell of fresh cut grass back in the day when most parks had real grass. My grandfather could tell me stats of his favorite players going back all the way in the 1950's era.

Baseball is slightly on the uptick. It used to be the most popular sport in America for decades, until football overtook it. That being said all but a few of the clips in this video are postseason baseball. Regular season baseball is not the same atmosphere as postseason baseball. Postseason baseball is some of the best and most electric atmospheres you will ever witness

I think it depends on what your favorite sport is, how much you appreciate and love the World Series compared to say a Super Bowl. I love baseball so the World Series is a huge deal to me and personally better than winning the Super Bowl or nba championships.
They also play the most games. Baseball season is 162 games, nfl season is 16 games so it’s a long road to get to the World Series.
I went to an SF giants playoff game in 2010 when they won the World Series and there was no sitting. We were on our feet the entire time and my arm hurt the next day from twirling my orange towel around so much. Best game I’ve ever been to. Crowds just like in this video.

I don't know if you have the context, but the Astros were found to have been cheating during that 2017 World Series game you saw. They knew every pitch that was coming. Makes that 10th inning victory a lot less impressive, along with the ring they got for it.

@@warrenaungst5655 he apologized for the scandal of course… but it never occurred during the postseason. There’s an hour long documentary based off the scandal and it’ll tell you they panicked & stopped after Farquhar found out what was going on 😂 you obviously took a narrative and went with it with no full research like most people did about the scandal. Point is, they didn’t cheat during the postseason so the ring counts cause if they really needed to cheat to win then they wouldn’t have had made it to the WS in the first place😂
