I love the way you show exactly what and how you use it. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Haven't been fishing in 2 years both you guys have given me my inspiration back for carp fishing thank you both
I jave onlg started csrp fishing and this vidio helped me i caught my first carp today for my second day and am very happy thanks mate
Sat on the bank with my mates and a tub of vaseline,I might get some strange looks from passers-by 🤔
Tony Bradbury 😂😂
Brokeback bank?
Or on the flip you may get some attention from passers-by?
@@retrorecharge86 if I need vaseline for the attention I will give it a miss thanks 👍
@@terrifying7847 it's cool bro, I ain't judging you or your mates, what happens by the bank stays by the bank remember that.
My 10yrl old just caught his first carp using this setup. Catching a 15lbs carp on a 1.5lbs floater rod sure brings back the excitement in fishing. 😄
New vid love it I suggest you could do a margin fishing vid on a float or you could try catch some golden tench👍
Great videos boys can you cover zig setup in the near future
Cheers for this video I bought a 50g controller float a while ago and now I know the correct way on how to tie it
Some great tips here! Vaseline is an absolute must. Imitation dog biscuits are great too, I like to soak them in something sweet. These are the two main things that seem to get carp hoovering it in rather than questioning and spooking off!
Yes for sure, immitation dog biscuits are a mega hook bait!
Dove posso trovare i biscotti finti per cani..grazie ciao amico
I bought a 50g controller for a 7 acre lake. Last week and was praying for you guys to do a video on surface fishing 👌🏾
just done fishing for first time since Christmas holidays. glad to be back!
Just what I was after, thanks boys.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Didn't really look too hard at the sizes but was happy when they came that the biggest size was what I was hoping for
Thanks. Just started fishing at Weirwood, so this advice will help. Cheers.
Hi, I'm very impressed watching you fish. On the other hand, I also fish, but unfortunately I don't have money for any good equipment, hooks, swivels, moorings, baits ... Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina from Stefan.
big tip, if ur using a controller float.. make it black.. or any color thats not white.. ive scared off a lot of fish that tried to take my controller.. now I made them black with paint or a perm marker, never happened again.. also i use braid for my mainline since its naturally floating and a lot stronger then mono so that solves 2 problems at once... and maybe a little vaseline on the fluor leader.. to ensure that it floats aswell... also i never use the bolt effect.. i just rig my sbirulinos sliding.. works perfect aswell.. also on aliexpress u can get like 10 for 10 euro....
Thanks for the refresher course and the Vaseline tip
If you dont have vaseline use the sweat/grease from the sides of your nose or behind your ears very similar
Honestly didn't think I'd get much out of that video but that was very informational. I'm going to modify that rig and method for the materials that I have then take it to a local pond that's home to some 50lb mirror carp.
Yes great vid. Have prayed for this
gonna try this in the summer. thanks !
big up ! agian a nice simple and good understanding for float fishing ! +1
Thanks Mark! :)
Ive found the best way of surface fishing for carp, just a size 6 hook, bit of breadcrust hooked through the crust then dipped for a second into the water, then cast that along the bank into the margins. Have had some great carp up to 18lb (the bigger size of the fish in a lake just 10minute walk from my house)
perfect timing for this weather!..thought you boys would be out fishing!
Yeah the surface fishing weather has finally come! Tight lines!
Great vid do very informative I would be so great full if you could tell me were the reservoir that you did the micro lure fishing match again great video keep at it
👍
Excellent video I'm definitely going to use it thanks
Great video lads👍
Thanks 👍
Hey Carl and Alex. Your tutorial videos are great and I have found them super informative!
Do you have any plans to do chub and barbel rigs/tips with the 16th not too far away? 😁
Hi there! Thanks so much! Barbel tutorial incoming very soon!
Carl and Alex I’m going to Elmbridge tomorrow so I might use your rig
A pesca de carpa.no brasil e bem dificil em represas mais eu adoro....
Can you do a video on lead choice? What shape/weight/colour you would use in certain situations
as always nice tutorial!
Greetings from America love the video you guys should come to Arizona sometime
Another great video
Thank you! :)
Another great video, could you possibly do a video on how to use boilies
Thanks ill be needing this 🔥🙌
Just a bit of advise when applying Vaseline to the hooklink as seen in the video . You don't want to apply it that close to the hook end , say your fishing a 6ft link you want the first 4.5ft to float and the last 1.5ft to sink so the fish can't see it . Its actually advisable to apply a sinkant at the hook end so it breaks the surface tension being less obvious , just as you would when fishing dry flies
We don’t like having the last section sinking as very often we’ve seen fish go to take the bait, and touch the line as they approach. Each to their own though, whatever works for you! :)
I've had the opposite experience as the line is exaggerated by the surface film in flat conditions and had fish spook that way. Maybe its my experience fly fishing that makes me cringe thinking about greasing a line all the way up to the hook . Even if the line isn't 'sunk' just sub surface its so much less visable , but like you say each to their own and this is only talk at the end of the day . Proof is in the catching 👌
Super nice vid
I used fox 15lb surface floater fishing mainline and zig and floater hook link 15lb
But I kept snapping off but the venu I fish hold 30lb Carp
Do you think it’s the knots im tying that’s snapping my set up? Because both lines are brand new and kept indoors
Whats the video on the main channel on catching that fish.... I cant find it anywhere!
so do controller floats and bolt machines do the same thing? if i bought a controller float, the fish would still self hook themselves?
Love your vids, keep up the good work
Great video lads !! very helpful. as usual was just wondering if you can use a Palomar knot for the uni swivel ?? Cheers Nick
I had a crack at this yesterday however the carp turned away at the very last second - is there a way of burying the hook or presenting the bait better?
Nice one. Great info.
Can you not use an overhand loop knot on your main line?
Vaseline... That's is so incredibly clever bruh
I’ll try those 50g and 80g and your system to fish here in Britany, hello from France 😉🤙🏻
I works well if they take dog biscuits from the top use it allot in the netherlands
What kind of rod do you use for this montage?
Very good info 👍
Loving the content
Very useful 🐟
Great video 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
freeline is best is my experience esp for bigger carp the smaller ones not bothered by anything lol
You boys are seriously class 👍I'm after a bit of help really lads .Where would be the best place to look for a shelter bivvy and what make do you recommend. £100 is all I have at the moment 😖. Thanks lads
Hi mate, we have a Aqua Fast and Light but sadly that is out of your budget! :( I've had a look and it's tough to find a specific fishing shelter for less than £100. We used a Asda 2 man tent for the first few years of our fishing, and it worked fine :) The Trakker MC-60 Brolly V-2 is still over £100 but not by loads... could be worth a look?!
@@fishingtutorials you boys are quality. Thanks for the reply .lovin life 👍 Tight Tight lines .......
@@fishingtutorials TF Gear Banshee Bivvy 1 or 2 Man Waterproof Carp Fishing Tent & Tension Bars I went for this .I hope it's a good un 🤔
I will try this although I caught my PB with just rod, bread, line and hook
Freelining is great for close range fishing, this rig is only helpful if you have to cast a bit further out :)
Awesome
I’ve had carp go for my surface controller many times, quite often they’re not spiked by them
Yeah that's happened to us often too!
Literally I used a size 12 hook with 4 pound line and literally just tied on the hook to the mainline and chucked it out with some bread in it and was catching them all day once they are feeding well on the top it doesn’t have to be this confusing
if the line is floating why do we put petroleum vaseline? does the main line really need to be floating? or can it be a normal mono line?
The Vaseline just helps add buoyancy to the line. Normal mono is often too heavy, the surface line is lighter and more supple. All I’d say is that sinking line will ruin your presentation especially if it’s used as a hook link. The line creates a ‘U’ shape and pulls the bait towards the float, meaning fish spook more often when they come up to take the bait. Hope that makes sense and good luck with your fishing!! :)
@@fishingtutorials thanks for your reply! Still doing videos like that . Cheers
Nxt zig flo is the best 🎣👌
hi ove vids carry on
nice vid guys, what dog biscuits do you use?
Chum mixers from Tesco :)
@@fishingtutorials not sure i know those, will check them out.
Can you do a video on legering rig
tell me the best way to keep the seagulls and ducks away from nicking the riser pellets and other surface bait?
Martin.B I downloaded a bird-song app, and selected a recording of a hawk or similar bird of prey, if nuisance birds turn up I then play it loudly thru my phone, usually does the trick, if not then all u can do is feed them until they're full at which point they'll disappear for a nap and leave u alone, just makes sure you've got lots of mixers or pellets
Faye Todd brilliant thank you
Guys can you do a tutorial on a carp rig for fishing a river. Will carp eat dry dog food pellets?
Does the scent of vaseline not make carp weary? Thanks guys!
I don’t think so! We’ve not noticed that anyway :)
Nice
Poor floats tbh. The tail end goes under after a while. The fox bolt bubble is much better, also hooks the fish on takes, so you don’t have to strike and rip their mouths apart. Korda did a green version a few years back. That one was much better.
Interesting Danny! We’ve found the Korda ones self hook the fish too, each to their own though! Whatever works for you :)
Would I get away with using Korda mixa barbless hooks? Never liked using barbed
Absolutely yes! Whatever you prefer :)
I've noticed there's no Nash stuff being used anymore 👍
mike cotty that get help from Korda now
Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU recommend they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.
When will the book be out
Not sure yet, possibly next spring. To be honest it is a long process and it's gunna cost us quite a bit to buy the stock, but we'll get there!
hi, i have been fishing for 3 years, summers and springs. NEVER did i cuaghrt a carp. WTF am iu doin wrong here.
Why all off you use small hooks, im used to use big hooks ( hook 2) for fishing with bread
We use small hooks when we cant hide the hook from the fish inside bread! When we use bread we use a much bigger hook and tuck it inside the bread :)
@@fishingtutorials i just use a bigger piece off bread ;)
Wrapping my line 3 times around the piece then flip my hook over the line and pull it light so it stays in one piece.
Use that if I have to cast to the fish can make it wet and it will not fall apart
Now lakes are open are you working on any new videos
Yep lots of new content on the way!! :)
Vaslene? Or Vaseline? 😂
Line hook bread boom 100rds of carp
😂😂vazleen
RIP breadbombs
love your vids but....what on earth is vazline!!!!!!
And there carp in there up to 30 pounds
Best rig for surface is a hook on your main nylon line with bread lol.
Listen to what he says at 35 seconds ;)
*sad fluorocarbon user noises*
I tried surface fishing the other day but the blimin ducks ate all of the bait
Yes ducks can be a pain! Try feeding them with a loaf of cheap white bread before fishing. :)
@@fishingtutorials Since bread is junk food for ducks, it fills them up, meaning that they're less likely to eat foods with nutritional value. Ducks that are fed bread may even become malnourished, and adult ducks eating bread may become fat and overweight.
@@fishingtutorials thanks
Just me or has anyone else stuck the baiting needle into your finger before 😂
Yep, once. Never again I hope!
🇺🇦👍🇺🇦
No this is not the best rig imo the best is the parachute rig or beschcaster rig!
So far it looks like people in the UK fish for carp a lot. And you guys have weird rig setups and really foreign equipment
Great tips👍
