    I’m a retired Army combat veteran of multiple deployments. I served 30 years in the Army and retired in 2014. My wife and I now live in the North Cascades along the Skagit River in a family home that we purchased from my father in law. After a hunting trip with a veteran buddy of mine in the Illabot peaks area I no longer go out hunting in the woods here alone… and never as deep into the woods as I used to! I’ve had a few encounters prior to the one that day, even one that emptied an entire campground on Baker lake at 3:AM when the screaming and howling woke up everyone and all of the people camping there left except my wife and I along with three other campers!… was pretty F’n spooky!!!… but the day that did it for me was a hunting trip with another friend of mine that I had served with on multiple deployments. We were up in the Illabot Peaks area and were followed for about 5 miles! What ever “they” were managed to stay just in the shadows deep enough in the woods that we never got a look at them… but we could hear them and they would talk to each other. You could hear a very deep raspy voices just loud enough that it was like you could tell they were talking, but you couldn’t understand what they were saying! I’ve hunted men before and we were both pretty skilled at it… but we were never able to circle in or close on "who ever" it was that was "stalking" us! - I could go on and on about this day in much detail, but the point is, is that I just don’t go back deep in the woods here anymore! Nope, not gonna happen! people can think I'm as nutz as they want or pretend that there's no such thing as a Squatch🙄… but I've hunted plenty of 2 and 4 legged animals and have never crossed paths with anything like that day… and I ain't gonna tempt fate to play hide n seek with who ever they were? as far as I'm concerned, they own that place! 😕👍

      Back in 2013 I was camping in a very remote part of Vancouver Island's northwest coast. On August 1st or 2nd at about 1:30 am to 2:00 am I was woken up by an enormous noise which lasted only about 5 or so seconds, a sort of hooping, holering in a rising pitch. I've been an outdoorsman hunting and fishing in the Northwest for almost 50 years. The very loud noise that woke me up was nothing I've ever heard before. The hillside the noise came from was totally untravelable by man, an area of huge bolders and rock with a mix of about 1/4 trees growning the rock cracks.

      @@archer721 yes I agree with you 💯%.. One day after I came back from the Navy me and my buddy were going to look at an old house way back in the woods. But it was inside city limits. We had to walk a good distance, maybe a quarter mile to get to the woods. As soon as we went into the woods about 50 feet something started walking beside us. It sounded like it was right next to me and my buddy was on the other side of me. At first my buddy didn't hear it walking. I could hear twigs snapping and leaves crunching. I got the feeling that if we kept going something bad was going to happen. We turned around and went back to the truck. It followed us all the way back. It could run very fast and we never saw it. When we got to the truck it was walking in circles just in the brush

    I grew up in Southern Thurston County, I’ve been in the woods practically since I could remember. While I’ve never personally had an encounter I’ve seen some pretty interesting stuff. One year elk shed hunting my friend and I climbed up to this ridge line that we had passed up climbing for years because we always found sheds on the lower ridges and never needed to climb that high. When we finally got up there after hiking in the backcountry for a whole day, having to camp overnight. We found so many chalked elk sheds and fresh ones. Lots of huge 8 point sheds, more than we could pack out. The most interesting thing that we found up there however, was what I could only describe as a shack, made out of elk sheds and tree branches. We were absolutely baffled and initially thought that someone must have made this, but there was no tracks whatsoever and this ridge was covered in pristine elk sheds that other hunters would have taken. The sheds on the “shack” in particular were very nice and we ended up taking them . I took pictures of it before but since then I lost that phone. I’ve also spoken with lots of old hunters like jack and the old vet he talked about who’ve had encounters. Sasquatch is definitely real and It’s humbling to know that I’ve walked the same ground that these creatures call home.

    I was a few feet from a Squatch back in '92 - It was a bizarre incident where it was trying to hide it tall grass several feet from a bend in a trail.I walked right on up to it after seeing the reddish brown hair from a distance, thinking it was a bear. I got right behind it and it had human body features, I'm seeing it's back from the top of it's ass to the shoulders at about the height of the grass which was around 40" tall - It was built like a giant bodybuilder - from the top of its ass to the shoulders was at least 48" - It did nothing, I couldn't figure out what it was, "bigfoot" wasn't even in my head as an option.... I had been going to this area, the Delaware Water Gap, since I was a kid, hunting, fishing and camping in all seasons - I knew all the animals in that area, the biggest things there were deer and black bears. I was 25 and a Marine vet at the time - My brain was scrambled, I thought to myself that if I had a stick I could poke it and at that moment I had the thought that this thing was so powerfully built it could just get up and rip my head off so I backed away from it - I was with a woman, we had hiked up the mountain to camp and have a good time, this was at about 8:AM - I motioned for her to walk up to me and past me back into the tree line and I walked backwards keeping my eyes on the thing until I was into the treeline and out of sight of it. Then the thing got up and I heard it walking on two legs, when it's feet hit the ground I could feel it in my chest as I was running back to catch a glimpse of it - I remember hearing a swish-crunch before the feet hit the ground with every step. It had walked through the high grass back into the treeline leaving shafts where it had stepped - I remember thinking that if I or any other animal had walked through that grass we'd have left a "trail" through the grass you could see, a "line", if you will.... This thing was tall enough to be able to walk OVER 40' high grass, compressing it with it's "big feet" (the sound I heard) as it stepped over the grass - It had to have been ten feet tall and weight 500lbs for it to do what I saw, heard and felt in my body. Needless to say a "good time" was not had that night - The next morning we walked past the same spot on the way off the mountain and I inspected that area it had been "squatting" in which was obviously still there - It was a big area of mashed down grass 4'-5' in diameter - I didn't go back into the forest for 20 years but the strange thing is I blocked it out on my memory for that long - I never thought it was a sasquatch or anything, I couldn't make out what it was at the time, my brain just scrambled not understanding what I had experienced, I suppose my brain just tossed it out because it could make any sense of it - The memory was triggered decades later when I started watching the Bigfoot shows on the idiot box. It was a crazy thing, all-of-a-sudden it all flashed back into my skull and finally made sense. The details are burned into my brain like it happened yesterday. It had long reddish brown hair all over it's body, about 4"-6" long shinny and healthy, clean and matted down perfectly where I could see all the muscle definition. It even had that diamond pattern of muscle you see at the base of a bodybuilders spine - I remember seeing the striations in the muscle - These things are powerfully built

Canyons can make a sound & reflect durections but it eas close behind our home & never forget this sound in my life. My hair stood up. I knew this was a call different than I've ever heard! I know cougar calls bear all the calls of elk also. Never in my life did I hear a scream like this. Also my husband & logging in the back country 10 m acre park for thinning & brought me a pic of a he thinks was a Sasquach hut. Never had a camera back then & told me branches like a dome & tall & definitely a place to sleep & hang out! Bif fur branches inside also seen alot of black hair no prints it was dry then branches inside for bedding & he told me the smell was really weird like a dead animal. He's gone now but but I knew this was so true in his voice & my cousin working with him that day was scared & told me we found a Bigfoot den deep into this park no one ever can go! We have a store here that had a map of sightings amazing how many they were but unfortunately our only store been here for over 70 yrs burnt down but those dots on the maps were more than I ever could of imagine. Sasquach burgers & people who believed Drew thousands of people that came to our park was amazing. Might want too look into Silver Falls park. It's the biggest state park in Oregon. One day, she was walking her dogs and the heeler became freaked out, acted really weird and they went home. The next day she was looking out her window and this cat...it was very big she said and it looked "prehistoric" it was a mix of different cats with stripes on its back and very large ..she describes it today to a "t" but I'm not doing it justice. So anyway, she let out a scream before she could help it and the cat raised its head, looked her right in the eye and did a graceful bound more than 8 ft up and out and it was gone.

    Native Americans say Sasquatch is the boss of the woods. My girlfriend had some rocks tossed at on the west fork of the washougal River i saw some trees moving around on the hillside, that side of the river is very steep and full of trees and underbrush. Our friends dog was hiding under the truck, and we kept hearing grunting noises

      @@salishsasquatch no, never. I always felt safe at the Mountain and on the trails. Maybe because of my love and respect of the Land, maybe because of my Cowlitz blood I’ve heard reports usually from BFRO but never by any park visitors. There is a strange story about a “Batsquatch” by a teenage kid on the Oroville road. West of Mt. Rainier NP. (It’s one of the roads we take from the Carbon area to Eatonville, then on to T-Woods and Longmire.) It was in a paper. From what I understand the kid was a great kid, good student. It scared him bad. And sounds like no one believed him. I would love to hear his story now that he’s much older. I’ll look for the info on it.

    I’ve hunted the Doty hills and, although I didn’t know it at the time, I had a lotta unexplained, strange experiences. Until I saw really large bare foot prints shadowing the Elk I was hunting. Then, I drove down a skidder trail to get firewood and was blocked in by large timber lain across the trail. It took me 2+ hours to cut and move the timber. I was only down in that swail for an hour. Whatever did that was able to do that much quicker than I could’ve. Got some nice fir rounds outa the deal. I know there was no one hunting the land I had permission to be on, either. It wasn’t some disgruntled hunters. I got rained out & went into Centralia to dry out & mentioned the multiple strange & odd things to another person in a gun shop. I was informed I was in the thick of Sasquatch or SABE country. It continued for the next 3 weeks every day & night I was out there. Now, after listening to multiple channels covering this topic, I’m positive I’d intruded into their hunting grounds. I recall feeling watched. I even tried to catch who was watching me, but never was able to see anything except those 18” footprints. I still go back out there every 3-4 years, but don’t stay in the bush alone anymore.

    The doll story reminded me of the time when I was 5 years old and stole a candy bar from the grocery store. My mom saw me holding it as we got in the car and asked if I had paid for it. Of course I said no. She made me go back in the store to return it, confess, and apologize. So now I'm picturing Little Baby Bigfoot coming home with a dolly and being scolded by Mama... "That's not your dolly, you go put that back where you found it!"

      I could see that being the scenario with the young squatch. Same thing happened to me with the small grocery in town. I wanted a pack of crayons, but mom said no. I slipped them into my coat pocket anyway. Then I saw a pencil on the counter that was red lead on one end, and blue lead on the other. Fascinating to a 5 year old. I took it as well. Mom discovered my stolen stash and marched me back to the store to return all of it, confess my crime, and apologize.

Funny side note, I think my buddy (cameraman) and i were at Mt. Rainer on veterans day (I think thats when u guys were there too) We were shooting some test footage. Im slowly learning how to edit, my buddies a pro but I've got a long ways to go. I’ll be phasing out all the AI stuff on the channel next year. Im slowly transitioning out of the commercial diving industry and into this RUclips thing. History is definitely a love of mine. Who doesn’t love a good mystery ;) Have a great Thanksgiving to you and the entire Salish Sasquatch Team. - Kevin

    I feel the same Sara. I think from a statistical standpoint it's obvious that most of these things are peaceful. That these beings are not inherently evil, or there would be a whole lot more missing people, and the encounter stories would be way more violent then they are. Most of the "aggression" you hear about is behavior to scare us away. Intimidation. These things mainly just want to stay away from us, with good reason, as we destroy everything we touch as humans. I don't discount that there might be some out there who aren't as well intended, but I think that comes with the territory of any living being. Some good, some bad, but I do not believe that they are inherently evil.

    I seen a bigfoot and its baby in joilet illinois with my cousin and her 7 year old daughter. It was so scary. We've seen, so I'm digging through the garbage house and running as fast as a cheetah. It looked like a human, but with hair all over it, I called 911 over and over again, telling them to come there and they kept hanging up on us. It was one of the scariest things ever. My cousin tried to run outside after it and I grabbed her and saved her life. She's like this is once in a lifetime. I'm gonna go look at it in its face and uh, her and I got in a huge fight about it. And the 911 operator continued to hang up on me. And said that they were going to arrest me. And I said okay, that's fine B, which I've never been arrested and 911 never showed up. And they stopped answering our calls, they so that we were joking in that they thought we were joking, but we were crying scared out of our minds, the thing. What we see in its face was like, scary like a demonic. It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen. It must have been 78 feet tall, and the baby was like 5 feet tall. It was the creepiest thing I ever seen in my life.

    Since i was a wee boy i've been somewhat fascinated by the legend of 'Bigfoot'. For years i wondered if it actually existed. I watched documentaries, listened to interviews, read interviews, read documents, and i now know it doesn't exist.
    It's a beautiful fantasy.
    Being from Scotland, we have many folk stories, many tales of mythical creatures dating back thousands of years. All across Europe there are tales of creatures of all shapes and sizes, Werewolves, Vampires, Trolls, Faeries, Demons, Gremlins, Witches and Warlocks. We have them all. What many of them have in common is encouraging, or frightening children into not roaming far from home, being home before night fall, stay away from the forests, and the water, for danger lurks, and all the beasties and goblins will come and take you, and you'll never see home again.
    That is all the legend of the 'Sasquatch' is. It's just tales dating back hundreds of years designed to scare children from entering the forests. While we, in Europe, have moved on from those days of superstition, and fairytales, it seems Americans are still very much entrenched in those days, and they're not even making any attempt to get away from them.
    Something i've noticed about all of these people who profess to have either seen it, or have tales passed down from those who have seen it is, they always stumble countless times when retelling, details don't match up (From where he was sat it was a bear...only 'now' does he realise it was a Bigfoot...). How many times have we heard these people say that they heard the unmistakable call of a 'Bigfoot', for example? Unmistakable? So these people have first hand visual evidence of a Bigfoot making these sounds? They've stood and watched Bigfoot scream? No. They've heard a sound, they don't recognise it as a Wolf, or a Coyote, or a Bear, or whatever animal sound they are familiar with, and they make this primitive leap to then categorically state, that it was a 'Bigfoot'.
    They don't exist, it's as simple as that. Until i see footage of one on the news, or a body of one recovered and presented before the world media, with 100% positive ID, then the logical, intelligent, and rational mind, has to tell us they don't exist. I keep reading comments on Facebook, or RUclips, from people saying they have proof, but they never present it, or they present the standard shaky camera footage filmed on a 'potato', which shows a shape 200 yards away, mostly hidden by undergrowth, and leaves.
    Tranquillise one, film it, photograph it, take it back to a Zoo. Do that, and become world famous.

    • @salishsasquatch
      @salishsasquatch  12 дней назад

      Tranquillizing a Sasquatch is crazy talk. As for you not believing, that’s on you. It’s too bad that you won’t know the greatest mystery of our time.

    • @scottw.3258
      @scottw.3258 12 дней назад

      @@salishsasquatch Crazy talk? That's not a good way to attempt debate, by attempting to insult someone. Is it?
      Why don't you explain why it's 'crazy talk', to suggest tranquillising a 'Bigfoot'? Many animals have been tranquillised, some of which are amongst the largest animals on Earth (Elephants, Giraffes, Rhinos, Hippos, Crocodiles/Alligators.), so it's very much possible to do so...should they exist.
      I don't believe in them, because i'm educated, and rational. As i mentioned, i've done plenty of reading, and research from an early age, probably more than 40 years of research. If these things existed, we'd all know about it by now.
      I don't go with this whole thing about people having been silenced in order to prevent panic. Why would people panic? As i've seen mentioned before, Gorillas were thought of by Westerners to be myth. There was no wide spread panic when they were proved to exist. That argument is weak. If it exists, and there's proof of it's existence, as we're always told there is, then present, it. I'm sure the populace would be able to handle the revelation.

    I fell asleep in a deer stand, about 15 years ago in North Alabama. No flashlight, walking home in the moonless night, something or someone began stalking me. After I tried to loose them and couldn't, I called out and told them I was about to let loose in there direction, but they kept stalking me.

    In the early 1980s I was hiking and picking huckleberries with three family members in Shining Rock Wilderness on Tenant Mtn. This is an area that borders The Qualla Boundary on The Blue Ridge Parkway about 1 1/2 hrs from Asheville NC. We had been hiking about 10 minutes from the parking lot at Tenant Mountain when I looked to my right and saw a large black/reddish brown upright creature eating large handfuls of berries. It was easily 8’ tall. It WAS NOT a bear. My family are First Nations and have been around people who bear hunted in WNC & on the res all my life. I know a bear when I see one. My first thought was “how did a gorilla get up here? Maybe it escaped from a zoo?” Then I realized all three of my hiking companions (two who were X Vietnam vets) had taken off running leaving me standing there in shock. A few seconds passed and they yelled for me to RUN! The Squatch never acknowledged me …. It just kept stuffing berries in its mouth. I was frozen in place for about 10 seconds when I heard them yell at me to run. I finally took off and caught up with them out of breath, adrenaline pumping! We got to the Shining Rock and hiked out a different direction along the old train track. If anyone ever tries to gaslight me about these creatures I just don’t even bother to engage. I know what I saw that August morning in broad daylight.
    I have been informed by one of my cousins that there are parts of Qualla you just don’t go into. It’s well known that a tribe of Squatch live there. Believe it or not…I don’t care.

    Oh my God. This is only the 3rd video I've watched from your channel. Right now watching the first part. The mention of Rainbow Falls sent chills down my spine. Why? Because my daughter lives right behind Rainbow 😮. And I never knew. And I'm sure she's not aware of any sightings. To tell you the truth. I'm not sure if I want her to know about this clip. She's not frail by any means. I raised her since a pup in the outdoors. She knows how to handle a rifle. And harvesting her first deer at 10 years old. But when we've gotten off the path in conversation about the unknown. Well that was probably,the hardest thing I had to work on. When it came to teaching her. That nothing outside of, maybe a cougar or bear. Should she fear😮. Myself I've hunted miles and miles of the same country this story teller is speaking about. Sorry for the long story. Thanks for the clip. Makes me wonder just how many times I was being watched😬 while hunting the 30 + years in those same hills😮.
