I'm psyched for you to get into PC-E. I think you're gonna have a blast. Jumping around on my PC-E+Everdrive is always a great time, and I'm still finding great tracks (and games).
If you wanna learn Japanese, I recommend you to start with "Visualizing Japanese Grammar" by Shoko Hamano from George Washington University. It's a series of short videos + supplements going through grammar step-by-step. It also would be incredibly helpful to learn your native tongue's grammar first, as it makes learning way easier. But as always, the secret to learn anything is through repetition.
repetition is the biggest problem. ive made great strides when I was able to keep a consistent study schedule but it's astoundingly easy to fall out of that schedule. :\
@@GSTChannelVEVO Yeah. Sadly, repetition is hard to pull off, but it's pretty much the only way to learn any skill whatsoever in a reliable manner. Our brains just refuse to store long-term any new knowledge we throw at it unless we keep doing it over and over again. The human brain is just weird like that, lol.
Gosh heckie, an Emma Essex mention. Growing up as someone exploring the furry fandom at university I ended up listening to a lot of their aliases, but Neko is perhaps before even that time.
@@GSTChannelVEVO Kleh-putz-kee would be even more accurate. It's hard to transcribe non-English names without proper pronunciation symbols. Anyway, where are you from? Your English is really good.
20:02 I remember searching through your video catalog to see if there was a specific example for your follow-up, but couldn't really find one. Plus, I got busy IRL during that time. Anyways, the fact that even if it's not true Romhacking anymore, writing your own bitmap font translator for specific games is one hell of an achievement (coming from someone who struggles with coding most of the times). Thanks for including me in the video even if I couldn't reply to you at all, I greatly appreciated it. PD: The lowpoly graphics in the background and the UI mockup are quite impressive
np np. seems like i was able to answer your question well enough anyway :) I just realized I have a second answer, too: The thumbnail/titlecard on my last video (Handheld Fusion Flavors) and the background graphics in this video are both from a new realtime generative graphics tool I've become obsessed with (... called tooll). i can't be stopped. im happy to see ppl digging it, though :P
I can totally get the "mac & cheese is not my vibe" thing. I like stuff like grilled cheese and quesadillas, but something about mac & cheese just feels so... tired? Like it's too much and too little at the same time, even the good stuff. And thanks for answering my question. I know it was a little weird, but I was on a cooking hyperfocus, and loved hearing about people's personal recipes.
keep learning japanese my guy
Good to see the nonsensical (most important) questions get the spotlight first
omg I want Aki Hata back on prog too!
thank you for answering my question!

Ey! My question made it even if it was a simple one.
nothing wrong with a simple question sometimes
May you keep enriching the musical and gaming landscapes with your incredible work!

@@GSTChannelVEVO Heck, my era would have been the early 2010s
1:17 So right. Also Nu-Jazz/Broken Beat.
tbh I was hoping you'd do the bit from Monkey Island 2, but 3 is a perfectly good answer

20:07 Download link to that tool?
i don't intend to publish it, sorry...
