Ehhh, when the tire costs $200, I'm not too worried about the $20 to mount and balance it. The trick is, keep one full size spare at the house, then you have plenty of time for things to be ordered, shipped, fight with insurance, etc.
JUST STAY AWAY FROM TIRE RACK. IF YOU HAVE A CLAIM, BE PREPARED: IT WILL TAKE FOREVER. TIRE RACK USED TO BE MUCH BETTER. THIS IS THE LAST TIME I PURCHASED TIRES FROM THEM.
Actually, I have stopped too. The tire prices locally are now better than Tire Rack and I can deal with a warranty claim without the BS that is involved with these out-of-towners.
Mine was a road side repair to get the wife home so the tire was removed for the Pics I sent in. If you are not putting on a spare then take pictures at the shop (?). The whole thing is a waste of time.
I understand but if the insurance ends up reimbursing you for the tire and you only had to pay mount and balance that usually goes for $30-ish thats not a bad deal for a road hazard protection right? Assuming you payed $100 plus for each tire, not sure if i'm missing something
You are correct. My point is that the cost reimbursement only covers the amount paid for the tire. Anything else like the tire costs more now, mounting, and anything else is not covered.
Sounds good, but that's NOT how it's handled. They waste your time asking the same questions over and over "we need additional information" etc. etc. be prepared to fight for re-imbursement of a ruined tire for 6-8 weeks. This is not a good company any longer.
Yes, The 1st check was 'lost in the mail' and after calling them up, I had to wait 30 days from the approval date until another check was sent. The '2nd' check arrived and that was that. So... I thought about it and I will not say they never sent the 1st check because there was some personnel issues where the original person went on vacation right after handling the issue originally. The other issue was in the replacement tire. I had to handle everything because the shop where I went used another insurance company and I had to file and I had to take the tire to the shop and remount it back on the car.

Some trick. Why would I have to fight with some insurance dummy? I have much better things to do.

3 months later, still waiting for my check. Lost in the mail..twice.
IMO that is a tactic that they use.
Just keep bugging them, I know I had to.
If you believe that. Priority mail tracking costs nothing. Seems they do that on purpose.
How the hell am I supposed to take pics of the damages if I can't see them without removing the tire

Can you give an update? Did you get the money from the insurance company?

@@A_Renaissance_Man I don't think it's a coincidence my check was "lost in the mail" too. Twice now..
When I selected the tire on the claims form i chose a random one. Do you have to choose the exact tire that is being replaced
The manufacturing date had to be seen in the photos submitted
Yes, it's idiotic...considering that tires get rotated every now and than. But those tire "experts" seemingly come to work on bycicles.
