Qualcom does not make the radios and towers, only chip. What they will likely use in US is a 5g protocol that covers a larger area, but is slower, and will have weak spots.

The standards on 5G is not fixed yet. So America can change the frequencies, protocols, etc. Whatever to suit them. I recalled the CDMA days.
