- Studio Portraits with the StellaPro Reflex from Light and Motion is a powerful lighting tool for your photography. This light can be used both as continuous light and as a flash strobe for your photography.
In this photo shoot and behind the scenes video, we use the light as a continuous light source. There are two lights being used one has a CTO gel and a spot lens on it and the other is daylight balanced and has a wide lens on it to encourage better light fall-off.
The StellaPro Reflex is an LED light source, so its capable of putting up some really good light!
I hope you enjoy this video and the photography tips I've included for you!

Very good information! You’re such an incredible photographer and educator Sal!
She is gorgeous and you captured it
Amazing work, Sal! The final images are incredible!
Seriously can’t say enough good things love the product! And the results are phenomenal!
Yall had Sal. That’s a cheat code lol. I’m convinced though. I’m sold.
I intend to buy a pair for my video gear. The fresels make it all happen. Thanks again for a great show and tell.
you will be very happy!!
nice, will you do another video with the flash option of these lights?
at some point - yes for sure.
Wow! Excellent preview. Hmmmm, maybe I'll get 2?!!!
ty ty!! I love em for sure.
Freh nell’, Sal! (You know I love you!)
:)
How Reflex S compares to on camera flashlight? is full power at 18,000 lumens flash stronger?
The S in Fresnel is silent, my guy
Great video. I appreciate how you described exactly how you were using them. What power were you at on the main light? Thanks!
i believe the main light was at 1400 of 6000 so 1/4 power..
@@SalCincotta1 thank you!
Does the Main light too bright causing the subject to squint( Direct Light) Thank you So, if I increase the ISO to 400 or even 800 I can shoot F4? or 5.6. I never shoot Wide open. I use Medium Format. Than you Dennis
you control the brightness of the light... so thats up to you and how sensitive their eyes are. as for settings... of course... its how photography works right? increase iso... you will have more room for aperture. so you can see my settings... im at iso 200 and 1600th sec.... so on that setting alone you would be able to move from 1600>800>400>200sec... that alone is 3 stops more. hth.
The strap is to wrap around a pole or stand. That’s why there is a notch out of the “disc”on the battery. I enjoy these lights, especially the water resistance (I shoot in Lake Tahoe)(well not IN Lake Tahoe, but around.. in snow) they are great, but need a little more engineering love. Lots of parts, screws for attachments etc. definitely going to stick with the company as there is HUGE promise
Haha been using it around my hand. Works well. :)
Sal: Have you found a battery pack that exceeds the 100w output for the ReflexS that exceeds the run time from the existing battery pack from Stella Pro? I'm using my ReflexS at full power in some "run & gun" situations that tops out at 60 minutes.
i have not... but youre right... full power they will burn fast!! what ive done is picked up a few extra batteries.
Was this the CLx10 model?
no sir... per the video its the reflex.
I'm not sure I like the images insofar as the models skin looks pasty and flat with little definition or depth from realistic shadows. I assume this is caused by the harsh flat lighting from these tiny lights and not from post processing?
Hi Sal, did you check out the new Rotolight Aeos and Neo Pro versions? I own them and they do quite the same job. You do not need any color gels since they are built in and they can also flash in any color. Would love to hear your thoughts about these lights 😊
have not had a chance yet... will for sure!!
The word Fresnel is actually pronounced Fernel, it's a Fernel lense.
No, it's pronounced Frenel!
