Yes, that's what I originally thought when I saw it--where have I seen that image before? Oh, yes. Cruising. I guess you can call it an homage of sorts.
The scene that starts at 4:25 was probably one of the most surreal moments in motion picture history. I was like, "Wait, where did HE come from...and why?" O_o
How did I miss this AHS?.. I came out in 1980.. 19 years old, finally feeling a sense of freedom and sheer relief, to only become fearful and ashamed on the cusp of the AIDS crisis just one year later.. And later losing my circle of friends to the disease.. But, I'm still here.. Suffering from survivor's guilt over 40 years later..
@@blackgayhistorychannelI think of my friends daily.. 🥲.. I knew Larry Kramer.. I worked a bookstore around the corner from his Village apartment.. He made sure I ordered his novel regularly..
Thank you so much for expressing hate crime, domestic violence, and substance abuse in our black gay community. Hopefully these days the young black gay youths aren’t experiencing large amounts of racism within the LGBTQ, it’s best to eradicate any racism in the LGBTQ community.❤
Love AHS and especially this season! I watched a documentary on the making of Cruisung and the black muscle cop in the cowboy hat was pulled from real life instances precincts used to undermine a suspect's testimony. Sad. Likely illegal. Racist. But kind of sexy, on the show at least.
I thought it was a repost. But worth it. It's all a double-edged sword. Gay representation but often portrayed as the victims and sometimes the perpetrators. It's all the negative stereotypes over the positive.
black guy was abusive, evil…. white guy Big Daddy, a kill3er was beautiful, in shape and at the end portrayed as angel…. It’s a tv show, some things in show business don’t change and still the same.
The black cowboy in AHS was a direct lift from a similar scene in “Cruising”.

I agree with you that was a great series for AHS!

We can't always be heroes with happy endings, but it would be nice🌈
BRAVO!
Thank you! 💜
No way. Blessed for surviving the first time around, and I haven’t forgotten. No need to revisit. Personally, the show feels a little exploitive.
Great on AHS. Great content!
Thank you!

This is a re-post
What means AHS? and what is the name of the film?
It’s actually a good film
