    Yea Hungarians are a weird bunch of people, they look completely different compared to Estonians and Finns, their culture is completely different and they are located in isolated area in central Europe but they still are related to us somehow because the Hungarian language has similar really old basic words like "fish","swim" and "water" meaning there had to be some sort of deep connection thousands of years back in history when the Estonian, Finnish and Hungarian tribes were still in the Ural mountain area (which is the mountain chain that separates Europe from Asia) :D

      A huge mistake. It is an old fiction that the Hungarians came from the Ural Mountains. It was invented in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy and after that the Russian origin was also popular in communism. The Hungarians are a Turanian people. Its language is of ancient Sumerian origin.
      Sumerian words "Apu" = father in Hungarian. The "Annu" (annuit is on $ 1) = mother in Hungarian.
      In Sumerian, the first man was "Adapa." In Hungarian, the grandfather pronunciation: "Nagyapa".
      Sumerian word for god STN = Hebrew SaTaNa in Hungarian iSTeN (the god). The word STN remained but the person of God changed because already from 1001 the Hungarian people were Christians.
      Lake "Balaton" a Sumerian word this mean is: "for life".
      King Nimrod (נִמְרוֹד Nimrod), an important figure in Hungarian ancient history and tales, is the great-grandson of Noah; they are also portrayed as a mighty hunter and a symbol of power. He is often considered the builder of the Tower of Babel. Preview of the Sumerian fire god.

      @@palgabriel7675 but can't Hungarians understand the Ugric languages which are Uralic? I have also heard that Hungarian language has been influenced so much by other languages that the Uralic connection isnt that clear anymore.

      @@ristusnotta1653 "but can't Hungarians understand the Ugric languages which are Uralic?" Absolutely not. They all seem other-worldly to us. That's not to say that the languages aren't related though.

      @@palgabriel7675 It is not so simple. Because the truth is somewhere between the two. The Hungarian language changed a lot. Even before the hungarians reached the Carpathian basin they have contacted with southern regions and worked even for Bizantine. One of the joined tribe was the kabars, which originated from a turkish language family, but other tribes originated from other points of asia, even from the ural side. So there was no a clear one single hungarian language even at the beginning. It is a mixture of all, and therfore you can find uralic, and turkish base worlds in the current language. So I think in this question we should be a bit more felxible :)

    • @ThorTyrker
      @ThorTyrker 3 года назад +2

      @@ristusnotta1653 Hungarians can't understand any other languages whatsoever - It's probably because all the close relatives in Asia were wiped out by the Mongols on their way to invade Europe. Couple of similar and matching words surprisingly can be found in seemingly unrelated (but, consequently somehow after all related) languages, like the Kazah, various tribes from central Asia, languages from Middle East, Suomi, some words from the extinct Hun and even ancient Sumer (allegedly) - the past must have been pretty chaotic. So all the existing relatives today are soooo far related like, say, Hindi to English. Hungarian is the last of it's kind.

    you can go to the thermal baths anytime (i mean anytime where there isn't a pandemic going on), there's many of them in budapest and in smaller towns as well. and there's great architecture everywhere, some medieval forts and castles are in really good shape and there are very nice 19th century buildings as well.

      @@esztereszter9137 Sorry for late reply. If u mean "by enemies" its because Banate of Bosnia seperated itself from Hungarian kingdome and became Kingdome of Bosnia. Also Hungarians would often raid Bosnia. And send crusaders bc of Bogomils/Heretics of Bosnian Church. But I do believe if it wasnt for Hungarian invasion of Bosnia, Bosnia would probably be swallowed by either Croatia or Serbia or Both. Every time Byzantium didnt rule over Bosnia, Bosnia fell under those two control. Bc of Bosnian moutains and rivers it was hard to control Bosnia. So Hungary gave them autonomy as political entity (or allowed to keep it rather). So Bosnian identity managed to firmly establish itself outside of reach of serbs and croats. Ottomans also helped. I believe Bosnia was the only conquered nation that Ottomans allowed to keep its name. In fact in early days of Ottoman rule Ottomans established Bosnian eyalet and expanded it. Like 70% of modern Croatia was under Bosnian-Ottoman rule. Again in AustroHungary Bosnia was autonomous and Titos Yugoslavia made it republic.
