- This is my first reaction to Dimash singing Blizzard Again and the first time I was introduced to Kristina Orbakaite!
This was beautiful and I can’t get over what Dimash can do with his voice… I still get surprised.
I loved their voices together and I was actually surprised by Kristina Orbakaites voice!

Dimash Kudaibergen performed this song on 26 March, 2016 on the Concert "70th anniversary of the composer Kenes Duisekeev", Kazakhstan. It was aired on “Khabar” TV channel on April 9, 2016.
The song creation history:
Approximately 25 years ago, the kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev wrote the lyrics of the song “Karagim-ai”. He dedicated the song to his daughter, who was getting married. The father puts his feelings into the text, his worry, how the life of the daughter with her groom will be formed, what awaits her ahead. Shares with daughter about the meaning of life. The poet argues that the most important meaning of life is Love. Life lived without love is empty. The poet asks: "All life lived without love is equivalent to one day lived in love?" It is always sad to leave home and cross the threshold of of someone else’s house. That is why a bit sad moment to a daughter too. After all, the tears of the girl are not from grief, but only regret when parting with the native village, relatives.
Poet asked his friend the famous kazakh composer Kenes Duisekeev to write music. The composer during writing the music to the song, recalls his only sister, who did not have time to get married and died at the age of 19. He dreamed what a father would have felt if she would have married.
Therefore, the song turned out not only about the poet’s daughter, who is getting married, but about the composer’s sister, who did not live to see her wedding. Therefore, the song feels sorrow, sadness of failed love.
Dimash sang the song "Karagym-ai" at a concert dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the composer on 26th March, 2016. The composer really enjoyed the performance of Dimash and applauded with the words "Bravo !!!"

The second performance was taken from his 2015 Grand Prix win at Slavic Bazaar. He was only 20 or 21 then and I much prefer seeing him sing solo. It was the start of his international career and he went back in 2018 to sing SOS which I am sure everyone has seen ❤ I see Gloria Wu stopped posting almost two years ago 💖

So good. FYI, Kristina is the daughter of the original artist of "Love is like a Dream", the diva Alla Pugacheva. Oh the second video is the one during the 2015 Slaviic Bazaar show after Dimash won the grand prize. "Opyat Metel" is one of the songs he sung during the competition.

As much as I love Dimash but the best version of this song is actually by its author Konstantin Meladze who doesn't even have great vocals himself. It is a very low key, intimate and beautiful song.
