I inherited a sewing machine from my mother-in-law, and you inspire me to learn to use it.
Learn together? I just got an old singer from my husbands grandmother! Cheers and good luck friend!
@@gracieshepardtothemax1743 You too!
Do it!
Awww 🥰
Imagine having a Gunnar Deatherage dress😍 It's beautiful!
Gunnar, the 2 year wait was worth it!! That was the perfect fabric for that dress. I just wasn't expecting the end so fast, I had to look down to make sure the red line was all the way to the end😭...
If you were teaching in person classes I would sign up so fast. love all the work you do
the real #metoo movement
Ha, project runway served him well.
Both the dress and Ashley are absolutely stunning. Those colors so perfect on her.
I was so excited to see this notification pop up! This dress is absolutely gorgeous. I truly love watching you create these beautiful dresses, actually I love watching you create anything. You are so talented and for me it's the fact that I can tell your ❤ goes into every creation. Thanks for another great video!💜
Love to see that you also have difficulties with decisions. It‘s sooo
relatable!! Thanks for showing it ❤
Gunnar, I truly enjoy your videos. I appreciate that you create patterns easy enough for everyday people. The model you picked for the dress in this video plays off the colors in the fabric beautifully. You are a wonderful artist. Thank you for sharing!
What a beautiful dress! Love it! Everything you create is stunning and beautiful! You truly are an amazing artist!!
Can you make a Persephone dress that shows the duality of queen of the underworld yet goddess of spring? Love your work!
That is absolutely beautiful I love that!
That is stunning! ❤
You are so talented and amazing! The dress is gorgeous! 💜
I love the intro! That fabric looks gorgeous against Ashley's red hair!!
Another beautiful work of art!🥰🥰 You never ever disappoint😍
You are so incredibly talented
this is a beautiful dress, I like the way the fabric flows in the wind :o)
You bring me such joy when I watch your creative process. 😊
I'm with you on the draping part 💕🥰💕❣ When I was in school draping was my FAVORITE part. Pattern making without draping first, was and will most likely always feel like death to me 😫 . Absolutely LOVE designing and sewing but I literally LOATHE the pattern making part. It's a good thing that we took that in school first because I almost quit during that class. Draping was next so I forced myself & pushed through it. But mostly it was because I knew I couldn't move forward without it 😂 . GORGEOUS piece as always, Magickal Muse❣❣
I've never been to fashion school but I LOVE pattern drafting with math and lines (I've never draped anything in my life)
I love this needs more time on camera its to pretty for the 2 second on camera cant see it enough ur a genius thats incredibly talented I want everything u make including this but I would to see from all angles like always u just master the fabric and make it become its absolute best self, you can turn something of not that great of a pattern to make me want it badly so take a bow.
That Avril Lavigne callout 😂. Honestly though pockets and that spring summer light florals print is amazeballs.
Love your new iTunes intro!!!! Missed you❤️
The dress you made is absolutely beautiful! I love the swirly, floatiness about it. I notice that all your festive dresses are strapless. Have you ever made a festive dress with sleeves or shoulders?
Gunnar USE A DOUBLE GATHER STITCH, it has more control. Even better, gather stitch EACH skirt panel BEFORE sewing them together. This way, REALLY protects you from possible breaking threads and you get way more control in spacing out the density of gathers. Plus you don't get any of those bits of the skirt caught up in the seam where you'd have to pick out and resew. God forbid you overlock trimmed with that stuff!
You are such a creative ⭐️ star!!! I love you and I respect you so much!! Keep doing you!!!!❤❤🙆🏻♀️🥰♥️♥️
I want this dress!
I can never get enough of beautifully patterned and draped dresses like this. Well done.
That dress is beautiful! ❤
Your voice makes me calm for some reason
Oh my, this is absolutely gorgeous!!! I'd die for that dress! It might be simple but yet so beautiful and the design is perfect and so free, I love the fabric and the way it falls down and goes into shape! 😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩
Maybe die for something worth it? I mean
I love how flowy it turned out...great job! 🥰
Not enough of you. Love watching you. Your the best. Beautiful dress. Looking forward to a long video with you all over it. 🍀♥️
Pretty fabrics. You always find and choose pretty fabrics.
Such a beautiful dress! The fabric looks dreamy. 🧡

dang! that takes some serious concentration! but OMG IT'S GORGEOUS!!!!!
That is beautiful!!
Omg, matched her hair perfectly! Loved it! You def have a creative mind. 🥰
Had to laugh at the title! Because back in the day, every teen who sewed would slave to make a new outfit for the next day! No one I knew in our little town had a dress form! We sewed, tried on, looked in the warped hall mirror, adjusted…sewed some more, and around 1 a.m., our frock was done. Despite living in a little podunk town, there was an absolutely marvelous yardage store (as it was called back then). The owner was an elderly woman with the most exquisite taste in fabrics. Swiss cottons and eyelets that flowed like silk, silks that ranged from supple tails, heavy satins, gossamer chiffons to crisp but elegantly drapey tweeds, Pendleton woolens, knife-crisp piqués, and laces that went from sheerest cobwebs to stand alone re-embroidered masterpieces. One was so beautiful, but also the equivalent of $200/yard, but I was in love with it, so my grandma made me a tattersall wool coatdress, with that pricey lace as lapels and patch pockets out of a quarter yard. Very Carnaby Street!
I love watching your process and creativity. The garment should always frame the wearer, and your creations certainly do that beautifully.
I have been watching your video's. What a talent you have. You are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miss you!! Glad to see you back! Loved the dress!!
Just the most beautiful things come from you! 💖
Hello Gunnar i love you videos , I have a question Can you make Wednesday Addams Rave-N Black Lace ruffle Dress my 14 years old daughter love that dress

Amazing I hope u had relaxing fun during time off Love u & your designs as always Thank u for sharing From Basalt co wish everyone the best
That is absolutely stunning on Ashley with her Red hair
Long time fan, first time poster. Construction question for anyone who knows… how do you line the pleated bodice after you take it off the dress form and sew down the pleats? It doesn’t look like there’s any bias binding along the top so I’m assuming it was a lining attached at the top of the bodice and flipped under? Any help would be much appreciated!
Gunnar I so love and admire all your work!! Love these desert dress too!!!❤❤❤😊
Oh oh oh!!! I hope this pattern is available to purchase!!!! The floral isnt my taste, but the pattern itself is what ive been looking FOR
"If I had boobs, it would be over for all of you." The truest statement of 2022. 🤣🤣🤣💚
BEAUTIFUL and Feminine look!!!
Gorgeous ❤
I would of loved that in a straightish longish skirt/dress style myself!!!
Beautiful
One question love your work and you have great style but have you ever thought about doing RuPaul's drag race show .I really think you would be great at it . If it's not your thing , your still amazing.
Now that one is beautiful.
Birdy
This fabric choice is amazing for such a dress! I do have one question, however. Do you have any tailors’ hams? I think you could use one to get the bodice smoother if you wanted. Anyways, it was beautiful either way!
Your designs are so beautiful and your such a sweet heart. Was wondering if you also do plus size?
Very good🎉
🇧🇷⭐🇧🇷🌙🇧🇷🌟☁️... Yes my little USA " Sleeping Beauty " citizen !! We, brazilians fairies we grant you three wishes: Ready? Here we go sweety " american pie" : first: have you the same design like the incredible Michael Cinco! Second: may you have the same modern traces as Dennis Basso! The last one: may the handsome George Hobeika be your guide in like you must wear !!! Amazing hum!? Yes, we know! Now go " american Cinderella's assistant " you will the galaxy's high fashion designer!! 🇧🇷❤🇧🇷❤🇧🇷❤🇧🇷
🇧🇷🇧🇷 Samantha, darling, you work with fashion and allowed yourself to wear a " alien short" like this one. Samantha, in order to Gunnar to exist, HE MUST learn a LOT. He can start watching " The Devil wears Prada". Once your learn the principles of what makes "fashion" , you will start at the top. Stop making cheap dresses; study the fabrics and , especially its combinations in nuances of colors. A lot to learn Samantha.🇧🇷🇧🇷
This turned out to be such a beautiful dress, and it looked just stunning on your friend Ashley!
I do have a suggestion, though. Have you thought about using a different model type? Maybe someone outside the fashion box? Older, larger bust, waist, and hips, maybe even someone taller or shorter than you usually work with? That sounds like it would be a great challenge!
yes us bigger chested girls want ur style the one girl he did with a blue dress that was bigger she needed some under garments to wear his beautiful gown she was gorgeous but the right underwear would have made her look much better in her bodice type dress but I dont know if the dress would have hidden the shape wear enough everything he makes is beautiful he has done a wide range just not very often but most in the fashion world dont which is why bigger girls dont have alot of attention.
Do you do tutorials? Would love to learn how to drape.
Hi, Gunnar. I missed you👍 and your creative fashions. You have an ability to communicate telepathically. I can always hear you through your mind. That is a gift you possessed so dearly. You are always in my thoughts. 🌟
Youre so inspiring and i really really want to learn more about the basics of sewing! If you could make a little short about how to use your patreon? Ive never used that platform
me to as well I dont know what it is or how to use it im terrible with subscription accounts
I want to be a fashion designer, I want to make clothes for everyone, so can you teach me please? I would really can use some tips and guidance, please
What sewing machine and model do you use? I am searching for a good smooth quiet workhouse
dropped waist with less gather and chefs kiss
I have a bad sewing machine, but i still use it cuz its my dream to create some type of fashionable clothing, yet i just dont have the right materials (a dress form) and the right steps 😭
That’s beautiful but I do wish the reveals where a bit longer and showed of the finished garment better seriously we got a seconds glimpse of the finished dress in the dessert, just my opinion.
It’s always feels so surreal when somebody is talking about summer and short dresses when here everybody is wearing 3 layers of sweaters…
OMG you are talented dude! And I'm happy to hear you say " flat and beautiful" jaja
