- Wedding dresses have always been a passion for me. Theres something so special about a wedding day, and I love how a garment can transport you.
The first video is a recreation of one of the most iconic wedding dresses in film. Love it, or absolutely hate it, the Vivienne Westwood gown that Carrie Bradshaw wears in the first Sex and the City film. I used a Champagne color duchess satin, and also a Cream charmeuse to create the dress. The original was a silk taffeta, and although I personally LOVE the slight wrinkle that taffeta gives, I wanted to polish this gown up for the sake of adding a "Gunnar Touch"
With a lot of my videos, I shop at a "discount fabric store" and that Store is located in Downtown LA! The store s located on Wall st. between 8th, and 9th! They have a lot of incredible fabrics, but are cash only! Also be super nice to them, they are family owned, and incredibly nice people!
The last 3 dresses in this video all include fabrics found at that store! They have a GREAT selection of laces, and stretch laces!

@@michellebyrom6551 my Aunt, who taught me to sew, and worked for Coco Chanel in the early 1900's, always nagged me, "press as you go". I have that embroidered and hung in my sewing room. Hehehe
You are so amazingly talented. My Aunt Bea, (born in 1913)who worked for Coco Chanel in Paris, in the 1930's, and taught me to sew, would have loved to know you. Thank you for sharing..

I have an odd love-hate relationship with how he always says "I pressed everything nice, flat and beautiful". I kind of get annoyed whenever I hear it (literally for no reason!) but then, if he doesn't say the full phrase, I feel disappointed 😂
I miss hearing, " flat and beautiful". It encourages me to press more often when I see, which gives nicer results 👵🏼🐞

I don't know this world so just asking to understand....but why could he not sell these pieces on his own, keeping his own designs as his designs instead of giving his patterns to help someone else get rich and the great pattern becomes theirs? He gets no credit & no recognition in that....only money. Is it really worth it??
He is well known and liked among his social media platforms and he inspires other artists. Why should he become and unknown, working fir a major fashion house ?

The grey/amethyst dress is perfectly beautiful. It's the type of dress I have been searching for, for 4yrs. Delaying and postponing and delaying my wedding because I want a periwinkle/ice blue dress as these were my mum's favourite colours and it's my way of having her with me on my day. We are set for February 2022 but only if I find my something blue 💙

They Carrie dress is more beautiful than the original IMO!! They are all AMAZING!! You’re so talented!! I used to sew as a couple hild/teen but quit when I moved out of my parents bc no sewing machine. For 40 years I’ve only done hand stitching/mending. Last year I bought a Singer and it’s still in the box!! I didn’t realize how expensive material was now. You’ve motivated me to open it up! Thank you!!

We moved back home to Mississippi in 2018 and my husband passed away 4 months later. With all that was going on I haven’t even unpacked my machines.
