I think I've finally understood why so many people need the grid pages when I usually use my ruler... it's because the grid is in centimetres, as my ruler, while most American users have rulers in inches, that don't fit the dot grid. I'm sorry guys, but if you try using a ruler in centimetres you'll spare a lot of time!
I am on video two already, but had to pause to say, these are THE BEST bujo videos I've seen. Your personality, your humor, your dope stickers, and the way you don't weirdly gate keep bujoing like it's some kind of elite etsy secret society? I needed it.
Binging on your old videos here. I went through one non-branded bujo and now am on my second, being this official version because my hubby wrote his name in it and never used it, so got it for free. But once I some day finish this one, will definitely get the official one as my next one as well. Also agree with you approach to a mininalistic starter pack. I have a Stabilo, which fits into the pen loop easier. Also usually carry a pencil case with a few colorful markers (adhd, need colors to remeber stuff). But all in all, this brutally simple approach is really something I wish more people would promote. Amd doing WHAT WORKS FOR YOU! Like even the multiple overlapping logs in Ryder Carrol's method is too much for me. I just have weekly spreads with hours 8am-8pm and then random daily pages if I have a lot to do or just random notes or themed pages.
I’ve been gifted so many notebooks/journals, but never was motivated to use them to their potential. But when I saw this one, I was immediately drawn to it. I use it ALL THE TIME! The layout built into it is so inviting and helpful! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this journal!
like you, i am not an artist. But I have a love of good paper and pen quality. I have difficulty saying ‘no’ to such things. But for a journal - that pen loop is a must.
The grid is the first thing I did for my journal!! It was extremely helpful at the beginning, but now I just use older spreads instead XD Having a metric ruler instead of imperial helps a lot too.
Great content but also hilarious with great edits. 8 days into my bullet journal journey so looking for inspiration ... Glad I clicked on your video! Thank you
hey Simie, I am glad that I have come across your videos on youtube. They are wonderful, useful and I love the rhythm of editing ~ I love your personality and your sense of humor ! Keep making new videos and I would love to watch them ~ Keep it up
The PEN LOOP should be included in the new UPDATED EDITION OF THE BULLET JOURNAL. Thank you very much. Mr. Ryder Carroll. Simie, I love the language you use. That's me. Oh and CeeGee1706, you are soooo right.
I love your video! You are so funny! Yet professional and serious. You would make a great boss! Great vibes. ❤ Also the information was super helpful. Thanks friend!
Absolutely in love with the way you edit your vids! I also use the micron pens for the same purpose - well not the sweaty hands but for its waterproof qualities 😆 I might just have to start buying the actual BuJo notebook vs the plain Leuchtturm just because of this. Thanks for the vid!
Great, great vid! I had no idea how many handy features this bad boy has. I, like the first poster, am currently using a Moleskine Expanded (squared) for the extra pages. I will keep this in mind for the future, though. Thanks for sharing your sticker source. I don't really use stickers, but I do enjoy adding fun stamps from cards, notes from friends, and interesting life ephemera. I can't wait to see your set up vid, Simie😊
@@SimieIriarte I love your commitment to your subs!!! Not sure if you do requests, but with your focus on streamlining physical items in your life, how do you handle letters, concert tickets, and receipts you _might_ need one day?
@@thegoatgirlcr I made a video about dealing with papers earlier this year! The quick answer is I scan stuff I know I'll need onto my phone or computer.
I just throw my pen inside on my current page, and use the elastic band to hold it all together. I could get on board with a pen loop being included, but not attached.
I actually logged into YT (which I rarely do) to point you to the reason why the original bullet journal has NO loop (and now I'm kind of annoyed that I added one to mine). You can attach the pen super easy to the book with the rubber band, by NOT using it vertically but diagonally. Video explanation by Ryder Carroll here: ruclips.net/video/Nn75EBBnUBM/видео.html
Well damn 🤯 I do worry that over time it would stretch out the band and then without the pen it would be all loosey goosey 🤔 but thanks for sharing regardless!
Yes. Ryder. Add the pen loop. It really won't break the dude. I've been using the Exceed journals from Walmart, but they are very hard to find these days in a dot format. I had a B5 (?) and loved it, but they don't make that size anymore. I'm back to the A5. At the end I discovered a new practice for myself: when the elastic band is crooked, I'm not going to straighten it. It's funny that I could make a habit tracker to track my success relinquishing control of the band. You're awesome, Simie. Keep up the good work! (I'm catching up...dunno why I abandoned my Bullet Journal for so long, but my life is currently a cautionary tale: don't do that.
Great video! And so true, you really don’t need much to start! About decorating: i do have a box… full of stickers, but I felt they stressed me out so I left them unused. I did get carried away collecting them so I no longer buy them. Yet you’ve convinced me to give my collection it another try (slowly) I might use the LT for my work bujo.. I’m going to use the moleskine expanded grid notebook for my regular bujo (…I write a lot and like infinite pages :D) Loving your no stress content and functional bujo videos! And the humor of course! Looking forward to your setup!
I guess I'll repeat after some people, but your editing and pace are awesome. You seem like a chill person, in general the videos are very idk, human and normal (in a good way), but with a sense of humor I find close to home :D I don't comment much, but no harm in leaving some nice feedback. So either way, wish you all the best man
I find the pen loop super annoying... no pen seems to fit in it.... I am using a small pencil case that can be attached to the cover with a rubber band. It is such a game changer. I can put a pen for writing, a ruler and some 1-2 colour pencils or highlighters in it. And it doesn't take much space.
Maybe try to get a regular leuchtturm or moleskin notebook that uses a bullet style format? It won’t have all the fancy things like the one in this video but you can get started with really any notebook!

Same here. Never understood! 😂
Ahh,for the half of the video I wondering, what's the big deal with couting dots if you are using a ruler anyway.

I literally loled when I read the gate keeping part 😂 I’m glad you’re enjoying!!! I appreciate your kind words ✨🌈
I agree. Very relatable content 👍🏾
Great idea , I agree a pen loop should be add to the next version of The Bullet Journal

3:25 sums up beautifully why the right pen on the right paper is heaven on earth.

OKAY I’m just learning about bujo-ing and I gotta tell you, your lack of cutesy, pink, Pinterest font is so refreshing. THANK YOU.

I like scribbles that matter dotted journals. A bit spendy but I'm more likely to use my bujo that way
I use a Scribbles That Matters, have for about five years but you may convince me to try this one - next year!
STM - I like the pretty colors!!!!
I looked into this and I like how it already has the pen holder!

No pen holder for me. Besides, you can always put it later if you like.
So my pens and markers won’t bleed through these pages? 👀
i meeeean I'll just say it'll be less likely than others? I used a sharpie and didn't have issues
