I platinumed the game. The most important advice I can give to players when they fail is, they probably aren't hitting hard enough. More damage means you can shorten your combat, the longer you make your fight, the more risk you take.

Damn any tip on how to beat all bosses without damage? I beat all boss with damage except for Eagle and Clov

Platinumed? Congratulations! Beating all bosses without damage is a miracle. I did not figure out how to make a good build using good weapons and attributes. When I get third Boss I’m really tired, every run because I pay so much attention all the time. I really love this game but try to get platinum throphy is a torture, probably I will spend months doing this.

Some extra tips that i found in my hours of playthrough thus far:
Weapons have rarity ( common: stone background to gold: rare). The higher the rarity, the more bonuses a weapon has. However, this does not mean a higher quality weapon is alway better.
Things to look for in a weapon: apart from choosing a weapon based on preference, always look for weapons that remove corruption and gain health based on kills and greed kills. These can carry a run by themselves. Also, avoid bonuses based on main/off-hand weapon type for main/off-hand weapons, these will generally remain useless if you cannot pair it with that weapon type.
Cursed weapons (purple background) : cursed weapons are a mixed bag. They deal dark damage, which means you cannot apply t'amok's breath, however the damage is usually quite large. The problem is that quite a few of these weapons give you corruption per kill, which can stack up in a curse really fast. Good for bosses, but bad for clearing mobs.
Lightning: a weapon that is naturally imbued with lightning (not the ones that have a chance to apply it) will always apply lightning to all enemies hit prior to the weapon's finisher, even if they are quite far away. Lightning deals extra damage but also staggers enemies and sets them on fire. Imo it is the strongest status effect. Look for the lightning whip for extra staggers and insane damage (plus it's visually impressive).
Don't waste money on things you don't need: simple, if you don't absolutely need something, it's better to keep the money for an upgrade or stats. The game doesn't really reward changing weapons 10000 times in a run.
If you don't main a two handed weapon, put a greathammer there, it will help you break cracked walls and traps.
Don't go ham on healing pools: especially in longer runs, you will get corrputed.
Stamina: very important, if you can get a relic that boosts it, get it, whereas the curse that affects it should be removed at all costs. Learn to manage it. Don't go ham on the enemies, you will remain open to their attacks and you will get spanked.
Unlock as many altar upgrades asap: you will get a nice start and you won't need to worry about finding a decent weapon early.
And lastly: try to get a weapon that you like early, even through blood sacrifice, it's a long term investment that will not fail you.
Weapons to try: whips, especially the electric one and the one that weakens enemies on charge attacks, bows, two-handed heavy weapons.
Weapons to avoid: pistols (either i'm doing something wrong or pistols are just terrible in this game, they deal less damage than a bow, and it feels like the charge is often times slower).

On the pistol. I've found it's only good if you can get the right buffs on it.
I ones had a run with a pistol that applied fire damage and had crit damage when doing the "off-hand combo". It was quite strong, but considering it's an ideal scenario it's still not great in my opinion.
Edit: mainly because that build SUCKED against bosses. Would simply runout of stamina and eat a faceful or it would take ages to kill them.

I like the pistol because it breaks the enemy attacks with the off hand combo. Thats the only reason i use a pistol.

Great tips, and glad to see the Grandpaw cameo! One relic I find particularly interesting is the Divine Perception (Increased Quality of stuff dropped by Enemies or chests). Seems underwhelming, but it's suuuper noticeable how many of the Very Rare quality relics drop. Last run I found 3 "+6% damage per 1k Gold" just dropping on the ground. Pretty nuts!

Sweet! I got this game a few weeks ago and have been pretty intimidated by some of the mechanics. Thanks for these tips Hael!

That +Constitution blessing if under 50% hp combined with 3% base dmg based on constitution claws is dope. Even those +1% dmg based on const weapons work fine for this, just remember to get hit in the first rooms and get some healing based on crit dmg% or greed kills and then use that huge max hp pool in the last few rooms to get the health back for bosses.
Shield is great for this as a second weapon, so you can parry to enable crits on your claws and then heal up even during boss fights pretty easily.
Crit dmg against elites and bosses is a great weapon stat for those heavy weapons on this build, again for that easy healing and boss dmg.

Learn to parry. Thats my most important tip, but also use a shield if you got a strong main weapon since the shield will give you a longer parry window making it much easier to parry. The key to parrying is to ignore the indicator and focus on the enemy and when they are about to hit you is when you parry. Once you adjust to that, you will find parrying a lot easier and it will make your runs a lot smoother.

That’s true, but it is a bit hard to parry the dead wives which cast purple orbs, especially if you have to deal with a lot of mobs at the same time.

My top tip so far is to go slower. It’s not as fast-paced as Hades and it pays to be methodical to avoid stuff more in this game.

    • @susaac9755

Indeed, the game is really more about precision than speed, however it rewards both if you can manage to combine them through greed kills.

    • @aziztcf
      @aziztcf 3 года назад +3

Absolutely, find those secret paths! Use enemies with big weapons or environmental hazards to break open those walls that have rooms behind them you can't seem to access. I think your heavy weapons work for this too?

I would also add for folks coming from Hades (like I did), you *don't* have to take items/offerings at altars. You can also back out to check the map/inventory when making a purchasing decision. After 250 hours in Hades I still catch myself thinking I am required to take an option from the reward altars.

realy good tips, and an informative vid, I find if I take a weapon that adds bonus damage bases on an Atrabute and or removes curruption realy helps in the early game.

I find daggers extremely strong, especially paired with claws. Serpent dagger and ceremonial dagger can deal so much damage.

The sad thing about this game is that there is one build that you can go for which is way better than everything else and that becomes even more true in harder dungeons. The build is as follows: Get the titan slayer heavy sword, crit heal and healing increase relics, take all the corruption which will enable you to get the op cursed relics near the end (+40 all stats and revive on half hp on death). With this build you can win anything all the time. You can just stand there and heal all the damage you are dealt and deal insane amounts of damage.
