I guess I’m one of the exceptions. I tried this saddle and couldn’t get comfortable enough. I returned it and went with another brand two section saddle. Much better choice for me. I will say that Tethrd does have great customer support and return process was easy.
@@markmurrell1894 Oh wow! Yea, man everyone is different. I’m glad you found something that worked for you. I have heard from several that two panels are the way to go. Saddles are very user dependent with what works for the individual. Which two panel did you get, buzzard roost?
Thanks for the idea about using the back band on your legs. I was gonna use a tree strap around my knees. That looks like a better idea. I sure wish there was a way to use some of these products for a couple of hours before you plop down over $400 though.
Man them pouches are huge. I was never a fan of having pouches on my cruder sc. I always carried a small backpack. Unfortunately I had to sell my saddle hunting setup due to my hip surgery. I may try the bridge buddy to see if I can saddle hunt.
@@bigjimar77 yea, that’s their marketing pitch either way this saddle. They definitely hold everything and the kitchen sink 🤣 Hope you’re doing well after surgery! That bridge buddy may be your ticket!
I had the Cruzr XC and the lockdown is nearly identical in my opinion with the exception of the shoulder straps and also the elastic that holds the pleat together when you’re walking in and such. With that said, there’s a reason I switched haha, I just feel like the Lockdown capitalizes on the XC’s shortcomings. With that said though the XC with shoulder straps would be a VERY close second in my book! Those suspenders are just money for keeping your saddle from sagging, ESPECIALLY when you have sticks and platforms attached to you while ascending or descending the tree!
ahhhh that makes sense! I have seen them on a couple saddles and I really wasn’t sure what they were for since they aren’t there to make you more secure in the actual tree and never thought to research it since I wasnt in the market for a new saddle. It makes sense that they would be helpful when sticks and such are on your saddle as you climb. I can for sure say my xc starts sagging in that department lol

Sitka Tool Bucket! It’s money man, I’m able to comfortably carry all my late season layers, sticks, platform, camera gear ETC. I highly recommend it 🤙🏻
I’m hitting up a tethrd buy and try event at a local dealer this week. Looking to get into one step climbing. Thanks for the useful info, but I am curious, with the bags and suspenders on this saddle, is the tethrd ultralock much heavier than a similar decked out cruzr xc with bags on each side. I’m guessing they weigh a similar weight minus the suspenders on the tethrd.
The Cruzr is actually lighter. I don’t notice it anymore, but the lockdown is heavier. I think you’ll like it though! Enjoy that try and buy, we don’t have anything like that around eastern Kentucky!
Thanks for the video, What platform were you using in the video? Also are those elastic straps available to purchase separate from Tethrd? I wonder if they could attach to the Cruzr XC.
@@eddievannewkirk4458 yea, you can purchase one of two variations from Tethrd. They have the ones I’m using which are their yoke system or a regular suspenders system. They should be able to attach. I’m currently running a Cruzr Seeker platform but will be purchasing the new Tethrd platform they released in a couple weeks! Thx for checking out the channel man!
@@rixb6283 I do walk in with it on. However, I keep the leg straps buckled but do not wear them until I begin my climb. I’ve tried what you’re talking about before and had the same issue. That’s why I just buckle them, leave them dangling behind me and call it good.
I’m a 38 Waist and chose the XL. The XL size is also known to be a little more comfortable even for smaller guys because it has more fabric that can expand and conform to your body while wearing it!
I did a test and review on it yesterday. That video posts today at 5 detailing my thoughts on it. I have all tethrd gear except my platform. I never could get away with using the regular predator because of the front edge digging into my feet, I also have bad plantar fasciitis. Now that Tethrd has released the Predator V it allowed me to match the rest of my gear. And, I'll say this. I don't really know how to explain it, but the lesser angle on the Predator V is much comfier on my feet and seems to conform better to my arches. I don't know if everyone will have the same outlook, but it's definitely a more comfortable platform in my opinion. With that said, Cruzr has been my go to up until this point. That's a stellar platform as well!
I’ve looked around and can’t find a weight rating. They market their XL size to +40 inch waist so it’s made for bigger guys. I’ll attach the link here to the website so you can see if you can find anything.
