The genestealer cult wasn’t something they made for this game necromunda has been known to have one all the gangs have just been able to keep them at bay
I deliberately spent NO credits on upgrading my mastiff because I didn't want to turn it into a metal and flesh monstrosity. About the game, it feels like it's a mix of deus ex and doom, with some titanfall mobility without the overall polish, but that's understandable, because, like you said, there were just 15 people working on it.
Exterminatus as a solution is more of a meme than an actuality. Why would anyone dare to exterminatus one of the recruiting world of the Imperial fists? More likely to get them and the Deathwatch deployed to purge and contain. Plus, Genestealers have always been part of Necromunda lore - and you should know how manipulative they are. The message about their presence has probably not gone out at high enough of a clearence to attract such attention.

Yes, I found the amount of exterminatus that take place, in DOW games for exemple, are ridiculous. Today I learned that in the DOW novel, Gabriel called exterminatus on Cyrene because the planet was anti-imperium and wanted to rebel; I was expecting a planet corrupted by chaos, but it didn't seem like that
The newest patch now has time slowed down when you open your power or weapons wheel. Your simulation of that at 38:50 is actually really close to how it is now implemented :)

As much as I love Streumon's faithfulness to the 40k canon - and definitely shows that's where they're most passionate - I feel like they're just more suited to making their own stuff. For a game that takes many mechanic cues from E.Y.E, the writing lacked so much of its depth despite being infinitely more understandable. I can appreciate that the story isn't the main focus though, and the world building was amazing. Playing this game honestly just makes me wish for an E.Y.E. 2.
EyE was essentially inspired by 40K, there was their homebrew 40K called Eva, game that probably was only their thing, like a thing between friends. Hell EyE has both offbrand 40K and offbrand Spacehulk mission in it, and it doesn't show they are plagurasing cunts- it shows that they are passionate and fkin love the settings. We need more devs like them to do 40K stuff, because most other devs are passionless shills
Honestly, I kinda liked not knowing shit about Kal Jericho or what was going on. It drove home the fact your character, despite being basically an eversor assasin boosted with Dark Age tech instead of drugs, was still a nobody deep in a hive world acting as hired muscle for slightly higher ranking pieces of the Great Game. To Kal, the Silver Talon and the Shadow, this is the climax of their story, a big important show down. To you, its work, and a decent pay day, you couldnt care less about whatever bullshit they are talking about. If anything you wished they stopped talking and let you off the leash so you can kill everyone and get back home to the bar and the cute waitress. Its good and funny when you look at it that way. I admit though, it would have been cooler to work for an unknown inquisitor and end up as part of their retinue.
Disagree on the lore part, high level augmentations are basically magic in 40k. The ravanor series has good descriptions on just how crazy the good stuff is.

As much as I liked seeing you fiddle about trying to equip a dog with a chainsword, I respect you putting their well being first if they weren't up for it. Decent punch line finish as well~
I was so so so so so careful with the dog. I legit had taken measures to make sure the dog was happy to do it. The last thing I ever wanted was to use the dogs for views or for people to get the wrong idea. That dog honestly has one of the best lives. Gets walked twice a day over farm fields, has a whole sofa to herself to sleep on. I’m very much someone who cares for animals.
At the time of writing this, the game is on sale so I got it, and it's updated and fixed a fair amount of issues. You now have an energy bar and can't chain takedowns cause you need energy for it. And the Mastiff AI is fixed.
@@PonchaYT yeah, Takedowns work a lot more closely to how the super punch works in Doom Eternal. It needs energy and it slowly builds up over time but dealing damage fills up the bar. However there was one issue I found while playing that wasn't mentioned; just like in Doom 2016, once you get an upgraded double barreled shotgun with the special ammo, there's 0 reason to use any other weapon. It's capable of 4 shotting Ambots and Ogryns. P much the only time I used anything else was during boss fights cause the shotgun does require precision and the bosses are m o b I i e

If you liked the gameplay of "eye divine cybermancy" you should seriously try out their previous mod for Halflife before that called "syndicate black ops". Very harsh difficulty but thankfully none of the annoying permanent stat drops for dying!!

I loved the game, and got all achievements, but I do agree it needed more polish, and a bit more time. My own belief is that the devs had to deal with a very strict deadline. The game got released right before the Warhammer Skulls. What a coincidence... I don't know if it was Focus, or GW's decision, but I'm convinced that Streumon Studio had to make it possible, whatever the state of the game.

Streumon isnt exactly backwards in french, its a type of slang called verlan, which itself is the verlan word for l'invers(invert) basically you switch the first and last syllable of a word, so l'invers becomes verlan, monstre become streumon etc etc
Actually, complains about bullet sponges might have some foundation. Some higher rank sub missions, the ones that require you to kill several ambots for example, are next to impossible to complete if you're not fully upgraded or don't have proper high-quality guns. I remember running out of ammo and medkits while killing only 2-3 ambots out of 6 (I think). S-rank missions are unlocked pretty early and there's no real indication that mini-bosses will scale up that much, so yeah, they give the bullet sponge impression alright.

Ambots take more bullets to kill than bosses and any mission against goliaths is you being bounced around by hammer guys that just jump at you from the other side of a map they don't even deal that much damage, they just send you flying really far.

Hired Gun is not a bad game. While the gameplay has a very distinct lack of polish, some by the virtue of being made by a small studio, some simply trough bad design choices, it's still quite fun. It's probably the best effort by the studio so far and it could really benefit from the same 'enhanced edition' treatment Space Hulk got. Visually the game is really punching above it's weight and some of the environments are truly atmospheric. It's a shame they're so often recycled in the side missions. That being said, it's greatest weakness by far is the story. It's mind-bogglingly stupid. They really, really need to hire a competent writer. Like seriously, I haven't seen a story so bad/badly handled in quite some time. Also, the drop rates for high-end guns need to be increased or you should be able to buy them. If you do any side missions at all, you're swimming in credits by the end anyways.
I just got this about a month ago and I’m having a blast, I’m assuming it’s now patched cause the dog never locks up for me and the takedowns are a lot less janky (though still hilarious). Idk, I don’t like “mindless shooters” which you could call this, but there’s enough gear and weapons to make it a fun enough sandbox, plus that movement is beautiful. I’m loving it, Bolters feel great also.
And... I don't mind that they don't teaste a sequel. It's far better this way, ya know, just in case if GW will try to fuck something up so at least people didn't got their hopes trashed

Great video as always, but I think you should've added "Necromunda" in the title of the video. I had no idea this was gonna be a video about a Warhammer 40k game and I almost didn't click on it because of that (I'm sure it would've been a great video even if it wasn't WH40k-related, but I'm just only interested in WH40k games at the moment). Had I saw "Necromunda" I would've instantly watched, and this would probably apply for other people as well.
I actually enjoyed Space Hulk Deathwing, but the single player needed to have all the customization that was only available in multiplayer. Teeminayor armor needed to not be so fragile, and melee felt weightless

Great video as always, but I think you should've added "Necromunda" in the title of the video. I had no idea this was gonna be a video about a Warhammer 40k game and I almost didn't click on it because of that (I'm sure it would've been a great video even if it wasn't WH40k-related, but I'm just only interested in WH40k games at the moment). Had I saw "Necromunda" I would've instantly watched, and this would probably apply for other people as well.

I actually enjoyed Space Hulk Deathwing, but the single player needed to have all the customization that was only available in multiplayer. Teeminayor armor needed to not be so fragile, and melee felt weightless
