Why couldn’t anyone notice she had cervical cancer when the son was born? Keping in mind all the tests given before, fusing and after pregnancy.
Its almost like its a TV show 😮
Alot of doctors are incompetent or just don't care also you don't have to go to the appointments and they don't have to run all the tests
I dunno the context of the show, but the fact she was worried about a full-time sitter and wasn't gonna do the surgery...it's possible it either wasn't advanced enough (or they believed it was benign and/or she declined further testing maybe due to cost) or this isn't the first time she's hearing the diagnosis. Sometimes people with cancer will go through a denial stage for it (cancer runs in both sides of my family) and that can last a decent amount of time. She may have gotten diagnosed, had the baby, believed "well if I was fine surely it's fine" "maybe they're wrong maybe they're not cancer, look at my healthy baby" "I can't have cancer, that's impossible" etc. etc. but also...magic TV show logic, so
It does sound like she's not in a great financial situation, and given that she's alone with two teen/tween kids, it's possible she was even worse off when they were born. There's a bit of a maternal health care crisis in the US at the moment, with a much higher maternal and infant death rate than a country like the US should have, especially among women of color. It's possible that she didn't receive adequate pre-natal care, unfortunately it does happen.
She didn’t necessarily have cancer when she gave birth. She was positive for HPV at birth. HPV can cause cervical cancer in women, and throat cancers in men (and boys). Or, the body clears the HPV on its own. She passed the HPV on when she gave birth, not cancer.
my mom had stage four ovarian cancer while she was pregnant with my brother and suffered in silence. she never told anyone, not even me, and the doctors told her that either she carried to term and would die or have an abortion. i thank whatever deity is out there that she was rushed to the OR right after birth, and now i have an 11 year old brother and just celebrated her 39th birthday with her
My Mom Had Cervical Cancer When She Was Pregnant With Me And If It Wasn't For The Doctor Who Helped Deliver Me I Wouldn't Have Came Out Completely Healthy And My Mom Would Have Died So I Appreciate All Labor And Delivery Doctors For All The Miracles And The Job They Do

I had a patient who diagnosed cancer in her lower limb ,Drs waited her until 7 months ,unfortunately, she had to do amputate her whole LL as it was advanced. But she took it so positive and everything went well

If anyone is confused they are talking about cancer from hpv, for women it can cause in cervical cancer and for men it can cause toncil cancer. There is a very low chance of hpv transmission from birth but it os possible
Yes, I was definitely confused. “Cervical cancer” implies that the child had cervical cells in his throat which made no sense. Thanks for explaining. It’s annoying that the show wrote the lines like that. Not correct. But definitely sensationalist.

I'm 23, my mother has terminal breast cancer, we're having to ask for help of people that we spent 10 years hating because my parents divorced and they took my father's side.. I don't know if they know what my father did to her, but I had to forgive him because his helping us for a long time. I'm learning to forgive his family even though I know they didn't do anything wrong.

My grandmas symptoms just got ignored by her doctor ,she got eventually diagnosed with stage 4 cancer with no treatment options.
She has been completely bed ridden for this year already.
Also kept begging my parents to please go to the vet with my pet bunny because I found out it's likely for them to get cancer around 5y old.
Finally gone because she started peeing blood, she had to be put down because the cancer had already spread really really badly and she would have died soon otherwise.
(she must have had the cancer for 1/2years and I started begging last year , she just started showing symptoms this year,when it was already too late)

I tried to trust my sister when I had a miscarriage that needed induced when I came home after 3 days I found out I was evicted she stole my rent it was almost Christmas she stole the presents she stole my foodstamps and still somehow owed the dealer $900 for her crack binge so dealers were demanding payment until I told them what she did and sent them after her. Turned out I lost my son because she was smoking crack in my house while I was sleeping. She gave me the whole she script I'm better gave my life to God wanna make it up to you be a good sister and aunt. Our mom sold us for her habits I always thought she couldn't help it until she started bragging to people about how she hurt me laughing then said I changed I'm clean now somehow people love a good "former addict" lie they are masters of manipulation but not human no they should all be out down they are forever a danger to society and I'm frankly tired of this propaganda that sacrifices so many of us to them

Wow I had to fact check this because it seemed dramatized for TV, but it is actually possible for a woman with cervical cancer to pass it down to her baby during a vaginal birth. It’s super rare, about 1 in 500,000, but that’s crazy that it’s possible.
