My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer Valentine’s Day 2013 (her birthday) was told she had three months to live. I was laying in the floor of the doctors office in disbelief & that woman just sat in her chair unphased, she told the doctor she would die when she was ready. She lived an entire year, three months, & one week to the day of her diagnosis. I was 16, my youngest brother 13. I helped carry her casket.
His senior doctor is really nice. He atleast tried to see his point when he gave 1 more symptom. Most of the doctors would dismiss it. They try their best but most of the senior doctors don't have enough time to cater to their own patients, let alone someone who isn't.
I love how Malendez and Andrew became punching bags to hug pillows. They were true to themselves, cared about quality and brave enough to admit they were wrong about someone they were so passionately against.

My aunt had acid reflux for years. Was taking over the counter meds until it stopped working. She got the prescription acid reflux meds. Years later she was diagnosed with PanCan.
It was unlikely that she had pancreatic cancer for more than three years. If she was getting medication for longer than that, it’s likely she did actually have acid reflux and the pancreatic cancer developed separately later.
Yep! Those were my early symptoms! Lucky for me, it was caught early! And good thing, at my age and health doctors would've missed it if they didn't do a biopsy! I actually beat it!
Sadly my grandmother died 2 1/2 weeks ago from this after 8 months of battling. Was sad but im glad its over for her. Very painful. Super important to get diagnosed early because its almost a 100% death sentence if not caught early enough. And even early isnt great sadly. Hard to fight
My Dad had Pancreatic Cancer but this wasn't one of his earliest symptoms. Actually this symptom didn't show until after the diagnosis. His first symptom was Pancreatitsis. Then a spot in his Pancreas. Doc told him not to worry. Dad trusted the wrong doctor. Lost him to it when we might have caught it three years before.
I had pancreatic cancer (diagnosed 8 and a half years ago and no evidence of cancer since the Whipple). I don't remember burping a lot or having more reflux, but I knew something was wrong. Uncomfortable, but not really painful. And the smell of my stool changed. GP did various tests but didn't check for that. Diagnosed when I woke up early morning puking my guts out, and turned yellow while in the ER due to my bile ducts being blocked. They thought it had spread already after the CT scan because they saw a mass in my liver along with the cancer on the pancreas. Turned out the mass in my liver was something like a birthmark.
@@Bubu_Lover Good luck. I haven't heard of mFolfirinox, so maybe it's a newer chemo that's more effective? Hopefully, the Whipple didn't mess your gut up too much. You're over a year and a half past surgery, and if nothing has shown on a CT scan since then, it's hopeful. I has a couple of scares that turned out to be nothing (a vague 'spot' on my colon that they weren't sure about and then disappeared, a couple of times my tumor marker levels jumped to 200-300 and then went back down to 15-20 in the normal range).
@@williamhicks558Thank you for your warm words, William! Yes mFolfirinox is the chemo which is getting used since about 5 years, it's 4 substances including folinic acid, oxaliplatin, 5-Fluorouracil and irinotecan. Stay healthy and happy❤👍

I just take things one day at a time. In April I ran 4 miles in the Run For The Cure For Pancreatic Cancer. I was able to jog the entire way without stopping. I thank God for everything.
God ??? Maybe you should be thankful to the doctor

So basically, Shaun and another doctor end up scanning this man and saying that they needed to check up on all of the patients for fevers, acid reflux etc. and they end up finding that he does actually have pancreatic cancer (stage 4 I think)
And they tell him to bring his family to the hospital.
And after that his family pray a lot for him, but he ends up passing sadly at the end of the

I loved every bit of Dr Melendez's character, gosh❤️ i actually felt hurt just as the producers wanted when his character was killed off🤧
I have been getting acid reflux for a year or two now along with stomach/chest pain but I have had tests done that show I’m all healthy. The only thing they found was a small polyp in my gallbladder. I also have anxiety so I tend to over worry it might be something else, but I love this show.
I'm so glad I found your comment I was rapidly scrolling through these comments getting scared the fuck out
wow, I'm having something similar for 3 months now.
Could be helicobacter pylori
Such a relief to find your comment
I’ve had it for years. I see the doctor at least annually. I was tested for anything and everything a year ago. It’s seems it’s diet and anxiety.
My dad had same pancreatic cancer snd i gave him chemo treatments for one year but didnt tell him that he had cancer and he died after that. I can't control myself. I miss my dad. I cried after seeing this video

The way Dr.melendez dies in this series is heart wrenching.... He knows when his time was....

My mom has these same symptoms, without the jaundice. They kept telling her it was GERD. It wasn't. She needed a double bypass at 50.
Oh my I have gerd really bad, doctors say I don't have that, but,I can hardly eat any full meals:( and doctors say nothing is wrong, something is definitely wrong.Diet isn't perfect, but,it's not terrible. Did your mom go to a specialist way before the bypass? If you don't mind me asking

My mom had small cell cancer they some how didn’t catch it until it was stage 4 spread everywhere, the DRs today don’t care it’s just another paycheck.
I had gerd 2 years ago and opnamed for 4 days
I took some pills from the doctor bit I gave me headache. I decided to take honey everyday 2 spoons 2x. It worked!!
I stop burping and now I can drink coffee ❤❤

My mom died 6 mths after finding out she had pancreatic cancer. For years she was told it was acid reflux. When you are living life and not thinking what the doctor told you is wrong. 😢
This pancreatic cancer took my dad too. It was 2015 when we knew he got esophagus cancer. He was able to survive and doctor told him he's cancer free. Unfortunately, early 2019 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away after 5 months fighting the cancer. Deep down I relief my dad didn't have to went through covid era... I also grateful to spend the bonus time with my dad. Life is precious for anybody, let's cherish every moments while it lasts 🎉

Hugs and love to you❤
Makes me cry that someone so innocent has the right mentor 😢
His senior doctor is really nice. He atleast tried to see his point when he gave 1 more symptom. Most of the doctors would dismiss it. They try their best but most of the senior doctors don't have enough time to cater to their own patients, let alone someone who isn't.
From the beginning of the movie he was dismissing Shaun, he wasn't always this nice to him.
The death of malendez really hurt me. Because i love his role . 😊😊😊 And i was wishing for him to be saved
I love how Malendez and Andrew became punching bags to hug pillows. They were true to themselves, cared about quality and brave enough to admit they were wrong about someone they were so passionately against.

My grandpa died from this. He went for tests multiple times but it always came back negative. Who knew the garlic her had every morning in his “shake” could give a false negative. (He’d put pretty much anything in a blender and drink it. He always asked if we’d like some as it’s good for you.) I miss him. It’s almost 20 years since he passed.

My aunt had acid reflux for years. Was taking over the counter meds until it stopped working. She got the prescription acid reflux meds. Years later she was diagnosed with PanCan.
How is she doing now? How did she become?
I'm sorry she didn't have a skilled, caring doctor😢
It was unlikely that she had pancreatic cancer for more than three years. If she was getting medication for longer than that, it’s likely she did actually have acid reflux and the pancreatic cancer developed separately later.
@@maggiv5401pancreatic cancer can developer for decades
@@maggiv5401Yes agreed, Pancreatic cancer is extremely aggressive and patients don't survive for years like that
The moment my grand mother show these symptoms she was already stage 4 and it took us more than a month and tons of testing before she was diagnosed.
Lost him to it when we might have caught it three years before.
if only doctors cared that much, or love their professions and the study of medicine and health
Crazy, pancan is one of the most deadliest in the first 5 years
Thank You for sharing, I hope for another 8x10 years for you! 🙏
You give me some hope man! Whipple in Jan 2023 then 14 cycles mFolfirinox...

I think hospitals should do additional affordable researches to rule out pancreatic cancer.

However, that’s when I decided to be there to talk to them and encourage them to fight for their lives. My dad’s jaundice was nearly undetectable to my eye. He only spotted it because he had been a nurse for more than 20 years, and even then, when he did, it was already too late. He was healthy, active every day, with just a tiny bit of unexpected weight loss and yellowing that only he noticed. Bile duct cancer took him in less than six months. The cancer he had was so small in his initial scans that they weren’t even sure it was anything until they did surgery. Demand greater funding for cancer research and therapeutics. All of the brilliant diagnostics in the world don’t matter when the symptoms don’t appear until it’s terminal.
