“Too be early is too be on time, to be on time is to be late and too be late is unacceptable “, I learned that in the Navy and follow that quote to this day

I am retired now so my schedule very flexible but I do remember always being pressured and short on time when I was working. I always tried to give 110 percent at work. Looking back, I wish I had focused more on family and less on my job. I feel like I missed out on a lot with my family by focusing too much on my job. It is more important to schedule family time and free downtime for yourself than always focusing on work. A lot of work deadlines that I thought or I was told I had to address immediately, could have waited. Don't prioritize your time based on work alone.

Good morning Dave from western Kansas. I just now had time to view this daily tip because I had the time this morning at work. I agree with you on time management and planning ahead. My schedule is pretty busy during the spring/summer months due to my husband’s mowing business. I have a short window of time to schedule appointments, run errands, or just to have a little time for myself before I have to help him mow. And yes I don’t feel I have enough time in my day to accomplish all that I need to do. And I’m with you on getting to the airport two hours early. Where I live in Kansas I could go to three different airports so I have to figure in travel time to the airport and traffic so I get very anxious the day of my trip. Thanks for all the great tips and advice you and Marc do for this channel. I am learning a lot. 😁👍🏻🎰

I've been a 'time management' guy for a long time. It makes things simple if you have a schedule and stick to it! Being in the Army and Public Service taught me this a long time ago and I still continue with it well into retirement. Very smart topic Dave....

I feel like when I know I have extra time, I plan to do something, and then I run out of time to do that something lol. You're right. Never enough time for anything lol

Yr right on with dealing with stress. I make a list and number the things by priority .
When I'm at the Casino, sleep suffers bec I love to go down in the middle of the night.
Go to sleep, hv clothes ready so when I wake up, get dressed and down I go.
I cld then be down there until the morning.
No sleep working on overdrive from the day before and that night.
Now I'm trying to be awake for the 2nd day.
Not a gd plan but I did what I love.
Guess, for this situation there's no cure. Ha
Dave, thank u for last night and doing a spur of the moment play night. 😅😅😅

As retired seniors, we have clocks around the house telling us what day it is because one day flows into the next.
Rest is important just like exercise and modest diet as our bodies are aging.

when i am home i have a small business. unless i have an appointment the day is mine and i just work. when on vacation expecially where there is gambling, i make sure i have lots of other things planned and other options for the time i just need to do something. this upcoming trip to Las Vegas in October i have a concert and i want to go to the Mob Museum. maybe minus5bar, some shopping to get me out of the Casino. going to listen to music is always a good option for me especially at night on Fremont Street. lots of choices and great exlarge drinks. Vacations are for me to party and have fun. can you keep up?? hahah Dave??🤣🤣

This hits home for our recent trip. Had big plans. Way too many plans. Ran so hard the first couple of days I wore myself out and affected the rest of the trip. Did as much as we could squeeze in to the time we were in town but missed a lot of stuff we had planned on doing as an effect of just trying to cram as much into our trip as possible.

I, too, get anxious when my travel involves flying. I always leave so I arrive 2 hours early, but until I'm at my gate I am hurry, hurry, hurry.

We live in a time with MORE conveniences than at any other time in the history of man. With each passing year those conveniences (aka time savers) grow. Yet we are more stressed, pressured, antacid guzzling than ever before. It makes no sense. And regarding time management in the casino, I think we should focus on greed management. If we did, the time would take care of itself.

Some people are inherently good with time management and getting things done. I'm not one of them. I have my own sticker business and right now I'm working 7 days a week, 10-12hrs a day. So I definitely don't have much time for a lot of extra things. I make sure I keep up on exercise to mitigate stress and have a couple hours in the evening to unwind a bit and trying to build up a daily/weekly schedule.

Retirement changes things but I'm busier with fun stuff I can have control over. Being organized helps- I try to get things done early before they r due. Gambling is funtimes! Airports are NOT.

I have the same thing with travel. And oddly it seems to be getting "worse" probably because I fly out of JFK which is a nightmare. I would much rather get somewhere early than deal with the anxiety of possibly missing a flight.

Time management was great when I was working so I could prioritize tasks. After work time was devoted to family and the home. Gambling should be done when time permits, and like your budget, only when it's available. When gambling hits your priority list it's time for a reality check. Like gambling, step back and re-evaluate. Are you gambling smart? Think about it.

That’s why I take my 78 year old mom 👵🏼 to the casino 🎰 every month when she gets her social security check - she’s earned it and it’s her one fun hobby! (Of course she doesn’t have to twist my arm to go 😜)
