You know someone is good at what they do when they make what their doing look easy. He made making two knives simultaneously look effortless. Beautiful knives.
Because he isn't necessarily showing all the time consuming and difficult parts. What differentiates beginners from pros like him is the patience and attention to detail.
Elijah, really enjoyed this one. Part of the reason many of us own so many knives is that search for the perfect everyday carry blade. I find myself carrying a small fixed blade more and more, either paired with a small folding knife or solo. I would be proud to carry either of these knives daily…God Bless, Mike.
I do agree that 52100 is the best steel for such knives. I don't own any custom knives, but I do have the new version of the Cold Steel Drop Forged Survivalist. It's an excellent knife w/ the new textured handle scales. I would have designed it with a lower too hand guard, some jimping, & a finger choil. However, I know many people think choils are pointless. Still, Cold Steel listened to their customers, and added handle scales that still have grip when wet.
I made an EDC similar to your shorter one ...I called it "Middle Finger...as 2 EDC's I've carried over the years are Schrades "Little Finger"...the "Sharp Finger" ,,,LOL....I think of it as a modified leaf pattern. It is quite versatile. Very nice knives.
by the way, I just love ballbearing steel!!! Some of the best, if not the best steel for fixed blade knives!! Simple handle and drop point full flat grind=knife perfection!! Good job, well done!!
Excellent craftsmanship. Very impressive. That said, why not add some jimping for more control, & handle scales that won't slip if your hand is wet? I've gotten into knives in the past few years. I'm well aware that many people prefer fancy handles (rosewood, micarta, fake stag antlers, etc). If the knife is for a collection, I can see the reasoning. But, if a person is going to use the knife for it's intended purpose, grip and control are paramount, even in wet conditions. I know a lot of guys wear grip gloves when bushcrafting. That's great if you have them, but what if you don't?
neither Bowie knives, where designed to chop wood. They where designed for self defence.fighting. That's why they come with big guards and have that pointy tips, that's why they look like short swords etc etc.. Axe is the tool designed for chopping wood. Machetes are survival tool for jungle environments with thick and damp vegetation.
Basically true, however some Bowie knives including some of the originals were rather massive, which would lend them to chopping, at least better than a little knife. But an axe is better.
I say do a raffle and let one of us try those out for a month and then we give you our thoughts on it, just to see if the are perfect EDC knives!!! Lol
Looks good! I like using 52100 as well. Keep it up.
Nice job on these knives. I especially like how deep you stamp your mark then it gets partially ground away with the bevel grind. Nice added touch.
Thanks, glad you like them?

Very nice. The micarta handled one is similar to the edc I make. Thanks for taking us along 👍.
Excellent job, i really like the bone handle one.thanks for hard work.
Both are awesome.
That logo on the knife is Legit, legit like in a mega commercial international brand

I really like the antler handle knife, both are beautiful. Excellent video, God bless.
Beautiful knifes, and watching you make them is cool.
Loved the double build. Felt like I had to root for one to be the winner!
I love that antler handle I can't wait to use mine on my third knife so far
Great job on both knives. I'd love to get 1 of your blades no way i could afford to right now.

Steel stamps Inc
A couple of nice knives, really like them, like the handles too. What is the red material you used for one of them? Regards from Down Under.
Thank you. That is red burlap "micarta"
P.S. I’d love to see you make a lock back folder one day, just a suggestion, I know you’re busy with so many things, maybe sometime.
How did you do your damper set up on your burner? I tried a magnet thing didnt work so well.

I have a bunch of perfect edc options. For me.
I hope you don’t mind a personal question, which do you like better Tex or Ida, it’s none of my business just say so
Good points to both, we would like to make it back to Idaho eventually, Lord willing.
