Pitting shmitting! That's a fine knife right there!
Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous knife!
When you dropped the blade, you made my heart stop. Elijah you do really good work. 🤜🤛👍
I laughed out loud when you dropped the blade. Happens to me all the time. Ususally when it's nearly done
Haha, yep it's not a finished project without dropping it at least once. Thanks for watching
Very nice work the blueing was great idea
Great job very nice knife
Keep up the great work
Thanks for watching!
FAN..FLIPPIN'..TASTIC!!
Thanks man!
Came out nice bro, like the old styles better than most newer versions.
Thanks!
Amazing work! Congratulations!
Thank you!
That's a fine knife right there!
Thank you!
Be cool to revisit this type of Snake Skin pattern and do the coffee etch. Maybe a different kind of knife entirely, like a Japanese style chef's knife or a tanto or something.
Great knife man, and greetings from Germany
Danke!
yep looks like an old civil war era bowie still very cool and i would love it the gaurd looks nice with the blueing nice work sir
I appreciate it, thanks for watching
Love it! That is one stunning blade!
Glad you like it!
Amazing job 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
That’s pretty cool 😎
Absolutely a Beautiful Knife! Keep the great videos coming!
Great looking knife
Thanks!!
It turned out great!
Cool, thanks for watching!
The burnishing wheel finish looks nice.
Looks ALOT better than the survival knife I'm currently working on 👍
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful blade, beautiful handle, great looking guard… interesting final part, I would have never guessed it would pit under tape! Well done!
From a layman's perspective,
Wowsa Wowsa Wowsa.
Looks great!!
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Done it again. Love the pattern.
Beautiful
Thanks!!
Looks great! Can’t wait to see what you bring to the challenge! 👍
Thanks! It's going to be fun
Turned out awesome! I just started back up with my old job as a roughneck on a drilling rig in west Virginia and I'm going to get some drilling line to make cable Damascus. Gotta wait to get a chunk though. I can't just hack a piece off. It's big cable, about 1.75" if you want a piece to make something I'd love to see you do a video making cable Damascus tomahawk maybe?
Sounds like a neat idea!
Wassa luv ur vids
Too late for me, I'll have to catch it tomorrow.
Looks great I did one like yours after I saw your post I just love the Nichel powder steel . Great work man..
That's cool, yeah the nickel content steel is neat to work with
You can still bigger holes on the Handel side and only have to deal with an eighth of metal on the blade side easier to fit I know my spelling is bad
Will have to try that!
That blade is soo awesome. I am very impressed by how it came out very inspiring my friend 👏.
Thanks for watching!
Took 5 months but its still a good knife guy!! Handle looks good after all the waiting. Would like to see another follow-up though as you already mentioned the corotion, it makes one wonder what you'll do to fix it! And we know you can so just do it!!!
Aaaaannnnddddd!!!! Try making a handle from BLACK DOG HAIR, (Compound it with reson & hardner OR your own weird idea like YOU do) with yeah I know it seems strange, butttt, it looks coollllll and I think you could make it workkkkk!!!!
You're awsome like that guy!!!!!!
Would really like to see you react to this aaand also alot of other fansssszzzz!!!!!
Be careful that wire wheel will cup your groove for your blade or screw holes on flats just like a buffing wheel
That sucks to have happen. I have a boar spear project that has some pitting issues, thankfully it's not glued up and fitted so I can work them out with some 220 still.
Nice job, looks great. I like the blueing on the guard, adds that something extra to it. Ever thought about adding a bit of inlay to it? The Royers are a bit fancy and use gold, no doubt too expensive for that knife, but copper or something similar would look good, just a suggestion. Top job, regards from Down Under.
Thanks! I haven't had the hankering for inlaying yet, maybe someday
😍
Speaking of frontier knives, have you ever seen one with a brass or wrought iron spine reinforcement? Those always looked so interesting to me. Yeah, it’s probably the worst knife for slashing and hacking but they were meant to be a cheap multipurpose tool.
Yes, my understanding is that was intended as a blade catch for your opponents edge if in a fight. Anyway, it looks cool
Oh, my godness
Sharp enough to shave your face with ?
A beautiful knife. Can you make a machette with the same ball bearing damascas in a bigger canister ?
Even if they’re for show, I really wish you would’ve used 2 handle pins. Or my ocd does.
Hey brother, what kind of cold bluing did you use on the guard?
Brownells cold blue. Thanks for watching!
I really like your work.
Are you thinking abaut tuatahi racing stile axe ?
If you squint a little it kinda looks like a small messer..
Where do you get your cold bluing?
This came from Brownell's I believe.
i wanna see you use it man

Ek like jou bekker!!
What type of bluing compound did you use?
Brownells brand
Ball bearing steel is way better than most people think it is as aknife blade. It holds it's edge 2.5 more times than D2, yet it sharpens way easier than D2. It's carbides cut way way better than D2 or any carbon steel that I have used. Also it takes a really sharp edge, that no stainless steel can much. It's made of high quality process and it's a clean steel. Probably the most underated steek out there, with 1095 ben the most overated. ball bearing steel, is actually how tough the 1095 people think it is. Wrong.. 1095 and O1 have really low toughness, similar to super stainless steels.
It's a great steel.. Not everyone has the capability to heat treat it correctly, possibly one reason it's not more popular. Another reason maybe is people typically want the new cool thing, like 80CrV2 is these days, in it's current form. Not that CrV isn't a good steel, it is too.
Isn't a Bowie a fighter? I would have liked a bigger clip. A fighter should be able to stab too. You've profiled a viking knife, or a camp chopper. It's outline is like an Old Hickory butcher knife.
Otherwise, nice!!
Actually...it's more utilitarian this way... people don't carry Bowies into battle any more.
But why does a pure chopper need a distal taper?
The 2 down votes must be caused by beard envy or something , because it couldn't be the knife .
Haha!
You Americans say it wrong, like snow and bow as in bow and arrow it is pronounced as bowie and not boowie
