Not sure where they got set up here at, but I chatted with Nick while he brewed for us in the show floor and they’ve got a few units there with much better views of the Aiden.
We got there pretty late so it was definitely brighter before, but it was a fun event! I don't even think it was entirely to showcase the machine but rather hangout with the Fellow team.
This video genuinely sold me on this machine. I didn't even think I wanted it based off the website but the amount of features packed into this at the pricepoint is insane
I mean it's "a good deal" in the context of commonly overpriced coffee equipment, coming from a manufacturer that generally makes premium equipment at high prices. I wouldn't say the price is absurd or unreasonable (especially considering that it will likely outperform the competition and has a bunch of unique feature) but I also think we as a community ought to remember that 365 quid is still a lot of money.
@@DamnZodiak I agree that things in the coffee industry are incredibly expensive, and $365 is a lot of money. BUT with the amount of features and tech this has, I’m surprised they didn’t charge more since its fellow, they love expensive stuff lol. Idk considering you can get kcup makers that also make batch brew for like $200 bucks….and we know how bad those are, this is right where it should be. I just wish wages kept up with the rising costs! :(
not going to lie, pretty impressive, seems like they combined a few of their products to make this a reality. Just shows how vastly overpriced their french press thing is... they are using a similar carafe bundled for 365. With the preorder 3 bags of coffee, which amounts to be about 75 bucks.. not a bad deal but it is Gen1 product.
This video is great, it's showing me a lot more than the official launch video. I looked at the features and then knowing it would be from fellow. I had a number in my head of what it could possibly cost and this came way under my estimation.
Is the exclusive coffees you get for preordering worth the potential hassle for this product to be faulty? First run products run risks of defects, faulty operation, or just not living up to advertising mojo. I'd wait.
@@ahpadt my $350 ode gen 2 is not worth $350. Looks nice but clogs something fierce if you don't slowly add beans while running. The grounds knocker literally doesn't do a single thing for retention because the tolerance between the grind chamber and auger is too big. Plus the ionizer gimmick does nothing to prevent retention inside the grind chamber because it's downstream of the grinding process. That thing solely prevents grinds from sticking to the exterior of the grinder. Low-key feels a bit like misleading advertising
Aside from it likely being the best automatic drip brewer in its class., my question is… If you want to make one perfect cup of coffee, would you use your pour over, or the Aiden?
If I had a choice I'd do it myself but I can say for majority of people this will do the job and will elevate the average quality of cup they can get in their home
1.Does this have a basic timer / clock to start brewing any program at a set time ? 2. Will the baskets allow for the deep basket Bunn filters ? I prefer these as it prevents any overflow if you add too much coffee.
I don’t understand what hes meaning when he talks about the difficulty of increasing extraction yield. First, it seems like TDS getting too high makes most coffees taste worse. Second, you can increase the temperature to increase extraction so it seems like he could always just try that if he’s having issues right?
How easy do you think it would be to use this brewer to do a Japanese iced coffee. It would be quicker than the cold brew function and can be brewed for single serve as well.
Btw- didn’t get a chance to talk to you for a long time, but saw your briefly at the Odyssey booth. Nice to say hi. I also got an in-person pitch from Nick at the Fellow booth. I pre-ordered mine.
That seems very impressive, I’m surprised they managed to put so much into it and also make it worked in single serve because usually it never dos well… I look forward when it hits the European market for sure
they definitely rushed the software, the UI needs a lot of work, but overall am excited to try this out. already reserved! can't wait for my meticulous as well.
Ships in September They still have time to make it good, but the first impression is going to suffer if the software is not up to par when it gets into the hands of reviewers

The xbloom is great. It isn't perfect. I am guessing the new one that is coming out will improve upon the original. I am a huge coffee nerd and I bought it for her. Do you have an xbloom @kahva123 @doylebbq4329
Looks like the non-espresso counterpart of a Meticulous Home.
Why is it so dark for an event that’s supposed to showcase the machine.

Yup - the appeal for people looking to drink specialty coffee without much hassle will lose their minds with this release.
Totally buying this
365 for this is honestly a legitimately good deal and this is probably the only drip coffee maker id ever buy

I cannot wait for an Aiden vs. X-Bloom video.
Can’t wait for Hoffman’s Ode catch cup moment… “I’m not a fan of the little fins”

Oh man this with the ode?
If I can sale my Moccamaster and buy the Fellow Aiden I would.
Saw fellow tease this in an email this morning, so glad I didn't have to wait long for a reveal!

How did it know how much water based on ratio he did? Or did i miss where he put in how much water?
Does it also tell you what grind setting to use on Ode grinder?
I'm pretty sure they'll be adding that into the app!
Thanks for posting this vid

I love that this doesnt have a grinder
What is IDY coffee?
you don't need to rinse the filter paper before brewing?
I mean you do, but they didn’t for the demonstration. I’m sure you could run the basket with the filter in it under the sink to rinse it before use.
@@HappyAccidentVideos could you with the drip stop?
$365 buys me a couple bags of coffee. It would be interesting to compare this machine to the pourover dripper Orea Big Boy.
The hell are you drinking?
Coffee bed look horrible
Small dose and steam agitation would be why! It tasted completely fine.
I know it’s all BPA free, but I’d gladly pay a little more for less plastic components. Replace with some more glass and metal!
Glass and metal soak more heat, there's more temperature stability with the plastic.
@@snowboarder2017 true but I think at this level of engineering, they should’ve been able to work around that.

Wow this is great
Next step is to have a built in grinder that adjusts settings based on brew size like the xbloom.
Personally I'm glad it doesn't have a built in gridner. I like grinding myself but I know that's not for everyone
Many xbloom reviews are stating they prefer that model without a grinder. I agree with that statement.
