- At Cornell University, renowned psychologist Stephen Ceci studies the accuracy of children's courtroom testimony, particularly in cases alleging physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.
"Truth and Consequence" is a short independent documentary that focuses on Professor Ceci's research and three court cases in which he testified as an expert witness.
having watched this video as part of research for a psychology exam, I have subsequently hit upon another you tube video called 'Child of Rage'. This is about a severely neglected and sexually abused girl called 'Beth'. Instantly, I thought of the how the psychotherapist was (interviewing) talking to Beth and the style of questions asked which I though very suggestive and I noticed that she remembered abuse that took place at 1 year old. Episodic memory at 1? Is this all possible?
Yep, definitely got Grey Elephant from Denmark!
When he asks about the vegetable (~6:00) I think the reason everyone thought of carrot is because he kept saying very deliberately to "square it," and the way he said that sounded particularly like "carrot."
Yes, that definitely sounds more plausible than people unconsciously turning one meaning of "root" into a totally different meaning.
This was not suggestibility. The children just got tired of being asked the same question over and over again, so they told the adult what she wanted to hear.
yea i know certain ppl that would take this and run with it. Grandmothers, mothers and fathers fighting custody cases trying to get the kids and training them with these crazy stories against the other parent.
Isn't is the same thing as gaslighting with adultes
damn that root exercise 🥕 🤯
