I have to say, I really like that Rick helped Jerry. He saw everyone was bullying him and decided to step up, even if Jerry is a loser, he still deserves some respect. Old Rick would have jumped in the bully train.
I literally pointed out the fact that in the last episode when Jerry fainted, everyone but Rick ignored him. I was surprised when Rick didn't jump in on the bully train and was even more surprised that Rick actually got Jerry out of the trip by lying that Jerry was actually "cursed" by the fortune cookie without even knowing that it was legit, and just when I thought Rick was just doing this for his own selfish desire to take advantage of the wishes, he actually gave that up to save Jerry. I didn't mind the incest joke here, because the premise of the joke had nothing to do with incest -- it was that prophecies from fortune cookies are super basic, in contrast with old-school prophecies like Oedipus Rex's "you will kill your father and marry your mother," so it would be funny to get an old-school prophecy from a fortune cookie. The incest angle arises naturally from pushing that joke to its extremes.

I feel like the incest jokes are just referencing the really creepy reality that that style of adult movies are becoming most popular, Rick and morty is really good about making uncomfortable funny jokes about real things
Funny how you guys thought it was salt in the wound, the trend this season seems to be referencing what people didn't like in the past and plot threads that are usually dropped outright specifically for the purpose of either directly addressing it as they hadn't been in the past or strait up making a joke at the expense of the previous offending episode. The whole point of the episode was "the worst part of last season won't happen again" and they made the whole premise around it way more interesting than just sperm gets big and now giant space baby. The team of writers this season has more control and has been influencing Dan Harmon a lot more to address topics and story elements he didn't want to talk about before or put the stuff people didn't like on blast and put some distance between it and now. This episode I thought was genius in the way it continues to grow Rick. He strait up dropped everything to help Jerry not be bullied by the rest of the family and at the same time ended the incest joke by making it overly convoluted and hiding it behind Gwenith Paltrow and "fate" which would otherwise be inevitable. Like you guys said they ALWAYS do that, but this time they didn't. It was the topic, but they didn't actually do the thing. That was the joke.
The theme from TAXI (a late 70s or early 80s sitcom about a bunch of lovable loser taxi drivers in NYC, starring Danny Devito, Doc Brown, and a lot of other breakout stars), is the shootout playlist song Rick’s car blasts, and YES Morty, it does SLAP 😅

I actually kind of like this one! The premise was cringey but hey, they've done way worse! I like how they actually stopped short of doing the worst outcome. Also Jerry and Rick team ups are really nice.
The more people dislike the incest jokes, the more I hope they keep doing them. If people just ignored them and took them for what they were just fucking jokes then I wouldn't care.
So far this episode actually has been my favorite in season 6. Aside from the incest, I did enjoy this episode. But thinking about it... Had Jerry been adopted, would the fortune force him towards his biological mother or the one that he sees as his mother?
Btw the first Final Destination is good not terribly gory and worth ONE watch. Not the sequels. Would be interesting to see Kacee's reaction honestly. It's one of those 'you gotta see it at least once'. You guys missed the 'Chow Mien' joke lmao! Also I think the reason you guys say you didnt 'enjoy' the ep is cause you guys arent comfortable with the 'sex with your mom' joke - but this ep was actually HILARIOUS. If you think about it, the moment Rick got involved with that, we knew Jerry wouldn't do that cause Rick would somehow stop/fix it. Again, not trying to roast you guys, but the episode was, legitimately, smart and HILARIOUS, but you guys just werent comfortable with part of the subject matter. If you watch any other reaction, literally no one thought it would happen lol, it was just a weird joke to make fun of Jerry's anxieties. Jerry was never going to bang his mom, lol, it was just funny how seriously he kept taking it - the seriousness with which Jerry took that is the essence of the joke. Whether it happened (it would have never), is beside the point. It was super cool also seeing Rick back Jerry up and taking an active role in his life - in his own way of course lol
Man, there have been a LOT of incest related plots on this show. I’m not accusing Dan Harmon of anything but…is there something he’d like to share? Between this and the several episodes with incest being a major plot, its…odd to say the least. Even Community season 6 did an episode where incest is approved.
What people didn’t like last week episode? It’s understandable not to like it but it’s too bad. It was one of the more creative episodes, funny and did a thriller right.
Yes, please watch Final Destination! One, two and 5 are a must. 3 is good but I get it if watching four movies is just too much. The 4th movie is trash and can be skipped without issue.
Even though this shit was so funny...i am getting so upset over all the incest jokes..with House of the dragon airing simultaneously it feels like incest is on air every week and its really really frustrating to watch...it also feels like a cheap joke as opposed to really smart jokes in older seasons
Pretty sure this is the writer's trolling everyone for the outlash against last year's incest baby. They spent the entire episode making you think we were inevitably heading towards Jerry having sex with his mother. Not my favorite episode, but I do wonder if I watched this episode having NEVER seen last season, would I still feel that way?

You skipped the best quote of the episode about sleepy Gary XD I died got resurrected and died again of laughter
Yeah wtf was that.
I was eating local chinese food while watching this episode. My fortune read, "Attitude is more important than facts." Not sure I want to read into that.
If my fortune doesn't contain any good news on incest then my meal at any Chinese restaurant wasn't a good one.
I actually kind of like this one! The premise was cringey but hey, they've done way worse! I like how they actually stopped short of doing the worst outcome. Also Jerry and Rick team ups are really nice.
When rick eat the Fortune cookies there is one that say your crush will call you
Maybe unity will call him and we will see her again
3:40 that moment made me lose it.
Perfect Jerry Humor
This was probably the coolest Rick I’ve seen
Why do you guys get so mad with the incest? 😂 They already mentioned in a previous season that was going to happen
The car played the theme from Taxi!!!
This is coming up to be the best season so far
No.
100% its my fave so far!
hell ya! all they need to do is have an episode with the president maybe do a lethal weapon style buddy cop episode!
@@JeremiahDouglas 🤡
Don't say that. the rick and morty fanboys who only like pickle rick will get you.
The more people dislike the incest jokes, the more I hope they keep doing them. If people just ignored them and took them for what they were just fucking jokes then I wouldn't care.
I think they are doing the incest jokes just because it's funny to them watch reactions of people complaining about it - lol (I wouldn't doubt)
🤯
So far this episode actually has been my favorite in season 6. Aside from the incest, I did enjoy this episode. But thinking about it... Had Jerry been adopted, would the fortune force him towards his biological mother or the one that he sees as his mother?
so cute (but also kinda sad) how NOBODY recognizes the theme from Taxi when it's played, it's been so long (meanwhile, the show was pretty brilliant)
I’m sad they didn’t recognize the Taxi intro song. I’m old.
what if the happiest version of rick is where hes friends with jerry
Well the zoo part had potential everyone fight for Zebra food
“Moon Prism Power Make Up”- 💅
Too many prudes around, it's a cartoon ffs and funny af.
I saw this episode right after house of the dragon so I was already ok with incest
😂yeah that’s how this jokes started Game of Thrones and the Targeryans family issues lol
I agree that incest should be stopped, but it's just funny😂😂
Man, there have been a LOT of incest related plots on this show. I’m not accusing Dan Harmon of anything but…is there something he’d like to share? Between this and the several episodes with incest being a major plot, its…odd to say the least. Even Community season 6 did an episode where incest is approved.
Ever watched family guy? (Like that episode where meg and chris hookup unknowingly at a halloween party) Nothing new here really
Interesting I felt night family was the weakest so far. Still enjoyable.
Old Rick would have saved only the fortune monster and replaced the Jerry
Remember when the morty from the Citadel wish that incest become more mainstream? Yeah. Blame him (when you know, you know the episode)
Weirdly my DVR didn't record this episode. I had to go watch it on-demand before I could watch this video.
How tf do yall upload these before I even have the chance to watch the episodes myself
That was quick
Did you finish season 7 and didn’t add it to the playlist or do you finish the season when 8 drops. Only saw 1-2 in the playlist I might be wrong
It was cool to see a Jerry and rick episode since we rarely get em and the fortune cookies aren't even good anymore they just say anything now lol
I think it was pretty obvious they were plastered on the planetina episode lmaooo
9:40 how you say it 😂😂😂😂
Even though this shit was so funny...i am getting so upset over all the incest jokes..with House of the dragon airing simultaneously it feels like incest is on air every week and its really really frustrating to watch...it also feels like a cheap joke as opposed to really smart jokes in older seasons
Why is it frustrating?
Pretty sure this is the writer's trolling everyone for the outlash against last year's incest baby. They spent the entire episode making you think we were inevitably heading towards Jerry having sex with his mother.
Not my favorite episode, but I do wonder if I watched this episode having NEVER seen last season, would I still feel that way?
4:26 It was playing the theme to the sitcom "Taxi", which Morty mentioned at the beginning of the episode. It IS a peaceful tune for killing goons! Great reaction and discussion!
