You ddnt mention one of the 2008 weakness. The wet timing belt. It is problematic. Also how reliable are these 3 cylinder engines producing a lot of horsepower?

If the turbo is big then it means the small engine will be forced to produce more power and that normally leads to wear of the engine. It reduces the lifespan of the engine. The turbos on these peugeots are not big so with good maintenance and decent driving the engine will last, something that kills them is aggressive driving but if you just drive decently it will last.
I've heard of the wet timing belt but not so much, how problematic is it? Have you come across one that had an issue with the timing belt?
