He does need to make videoing worth it and to be fair, on a normal length vid the advert would be a much smaller percentage. And it is skippable, thankfully.
It's a non issue really, Topdon (It's a decent name imo) must be getting big big sales and the businesses that make parts for it or whatever. Nothing wrong with that - keeps people in a job. You can always just skip it if you're not interested in seeing the adverts. I do watch them sometimes (esp a new one) because the products are interesting to me, already have one of those jump starters I bought a few years ago, but not Topdon make. Far better and less cumbersome than those past heavy lead acid ones, used to have one. Who wants to lug one of those around with a bad back?
I worked for a car rental company and we had over 25,000 vehicles on fleet and most were changed after 6 months on fleet buy back, but we also brought some outright. One day we was clearing out 1 of our compounds and sat in the corner was a kia that was 15 months old with only 95 miles on the clock.
A friend once worked for Mitsubishi Motors. They found a brand new car that had been left at the docks for about four years. After changing the coroded wheels they put it on sale as a special edition. It was bought by someone who traded in the same model a car but with a high mileage. About a week later they had to turn on the bullshit when he rang up asking how come there was less than 100 between the two cars VINs.
Or where's it not been? I used to be the Motability salesman at the local Austin Rover dealer years ago and we'd have some come back with mega miles and the odd one like the Astra where they barely used it but wanted to feel they could use it whenever they wanted. It was a rural area so buses were infrequent and taxis were expensive. Love your videos Lee.
Love the videos Lee. Miss the old car auction vibes. Hardly any open to the public anymore, your videos help itch that scratch. Appreciate your know how 👌🏻
My wife works with vulnerable adults in supported accommodation they almost all have motability cars one went back recently after 4 years with 320 miles on the clock
Just looked up the Astra on the Gov MOT checker. 36 miles in the first 3 years then 6 miles each year there after! Looks like it's longest journey was the trip tho the auction house!
Hi Lee. Your looking Good and Healthy bro. Don't Worry your only Human Lee. That Astra is a weird one for sure lol. Beautiful VW Golf. Great colour. If only I had that sort of money I would love to have it. Thanks for all your hard work Lee. 🖐🖐😊🇨🇮
Thx for the video as always, really enjoy these and look forward to the next one. The fleet stock looked smart from what we saw of your brief walkaround.

We have a Motability BMW X1 which was 4 years old in mid January with 14000 miles on the clock (we've extended by 2 years as you can get £900 good condition bonus plus £750 towards your next car). Trouble is that is 14000 miles of short journeys but tyres like new and full service history
@@carukchannel Yes. Originally it was £250 for the 3 years but it increased over the years to £500 then finally £600. It has now gone back to £250 but we still get the bonus agreed years ago. The £750 new car payment was just a one off last year but extended to the end of the agreement. We paid £1500 for our BMW X1 1.8i x line. Not bad for such a car.
Astra in my eyes, barely used but owner didn’t want to give up or not well. Family member could have taken it for service and back and maybe a food shop at same time. Wouldn’t surprise me.
Lee I used to go the fleet auctions 20 years ago there would be 200 cars 3 or 4 years old, most had 100k to 130k on them you would get some with 50k but mostly over 100k, I suppose it dewhich auction you go too. All the mobility cars were always low miles 15k to 30k at 3 years old, cheers Mark
We looked at a B Max diesel ex Motabiliy . Low mileage , immaculate, and dealer wanted top dollar for it . Had been used as a local run around by an elderly couple . Really wanted it , but was worried that that once I started using it banging up and down the motorway its lack of previous use may start to bring up problems such as dpf issues , dried up seals on the air con system and sticky brakes . Gave it a miss in the end .
I test drove a five year old Prius with only about 4000 miles on the clock. The lack of any service records and concerns about the hybrid battery sitting unused for most of that time put me off. Although it was snapped up shortly afterwards.
Trouble with a very low miler is you’re paying over the odds for the age of the car and once you’ve had it a few years and put say 20k miles on it it’s value drops to perhaps only just over top book and you’ve lost a pile of money 🤔
Just a point on the Motability lease. As you know, I have a Motability vehicle and have just changed it! The leases are 5 years and then it's up to Motabity's discretion as to how many years you keel the car.My car was a 2018 and I have just changed it!
Hi Lee. That Astra was probably someone that family had advised the owner not to drive anymore but the person would not let go of the car. My dad stopped driving three years before he sold his car but it was still MOT’d, serviced taxed and insured. Dave Birmingham
Regarding the astra why did they get it, because it's free on mobility and they didn't need the cash instead, motobility is another UK scam for some who shouldn't receive it,
Still doesn't mean there's a lot of people who are getting disability payment or a car who shouldn't, and you say it's self funding you mean tax payer funded , we all no people who take advantage of this benefit,
That Astra has got to be something like £17995 on the right forecourt to the right person ( grand or two either way depending on its actual spec of course) Great bit of stock for someone 👍
I have worked at places where we got company cars but there was always a pool car for "just in case" scenario's. So company cars went to the block at 3 years old on 100k miles and sat in the corner of the carpark was the dusty pool car that was 8 years old with 3 - 4 k mile on it only............ with a good wash and valet would look good but bear in mind as a pool car nobody had any real responsibility for it so it had probably never had a service had ageing cracked tyres so could have been quite a liability
We ended up with a BMW 420D as a pool car at work. The director who chose it as his company car left shortly afterwards leaving them with over two years to run on a lease that would have been uneconomical to cancel.
The realm of the creatures with extra baggy 'tracky' bottoms? Don't tell me if he bought a load of cars. No worries on the filming Lee, the filming mode is too easy to change on the gopro.
I picked up a 2009 Honda Jazz with only 9,000 miles on it from an 83 year old owner who's family had persuaded him to give up driving. £4,500 for a barely used 13 year old car! Had to replace the tyres due to their age but it had an annual service history from the suppling dealer. (Why didn't they pick up on the old tyres age?) My daughter is still using it now with another 20,000 miles on it and no problems
Doug Demuro's review put me off the MK8 Golf so I sought out a MK7.5. I know someone who traded in a Skoda with the dreadful VAG touch controls for an older model after just 3000 miles.

I think it's rare to see an Astra like that but I did own a 66 plate Citroen Berlingo in 22 which had 1700 miles on it when I bought it; it was absolutely immaculate and this was because the one owner simply did not get out in it-it was ex Motability and you could eat your dinner off the underside, it was like new.I got a very good price for it when I sold it as the car market was still experiencing turmoil from the pandemic shenanigan's,so it can and does happen.(average of 275-300 miles a year on that one,but that Astra clearly had even less!!!)

Lee! It's Monday night and I settled down to a nice lengthy video of yours. Oh dear what a catastrophe. Might see you at Prees Heath I haven't been for about 20 years! Tony
The person getting the mobility car may have taken a turn for the worse, so t he a car may have sat in the garage for years. Interesting thought though. 😎👍
I used to see year old Polo, Astra that were ex Motability in auctions and they had damage on every panel and looked like they were washed with a brilo pad
If only i had watched this 1 hour ago. Been looking for a jump start battery bank. Code ran out at midnight on 29th. Not valid on the 1st March. Hopefully I will get a chance next time.
Hi Lee, thanks for your recommendation on the TopDon JS2000. I bought one a month or so back when you told everyone they were in stock and it is fantastic. Cheers, Rob.
Usually find the elderly person has bought it and passed away and the other partner doesn't drive and it just sits in the garage till they pass away and the lawyer has the job to clear out the estate. 🤔🤔
Wilson’s had mega low miles stuff outa shell research basically shell pulled the engines ad ran them on test beds upto hundreds of thousands then pull them apart and finally sell off
Thought you’d run into trouble like Porterfield did with BCA😠. However from the comments it’s done your local auction some good (AB ) 🤫. Glad it’s just a glitch . Regards from darkest Staffyshure 🌝. Cheers Duck 😉
The astra was clean As you said Lee it's easier getting a bus , to me a waste of tax payers money to supply a disability car that clearly don't need it just had it cause it's free
Motability cars are meant for people who are disabled or have illness. What's possibly happened is serious illness prevented the keeper from using the car or could of been used locally only? No designated driver? That on top of 3 years minimum lease and wasn't used in all that time? Motabilty cars are well serviced and maintained. They also have changed the rules you cannot extend pass 3 years now. Shame about the limited footage would of been very interesting to watch. Still keep up the good work! 👍🏽👍🏽

I used to see year old Polo, Astra that were ex Motability in auctions and they had damage on every panel and looked like they were washed with a brilo pad
oh well things happen plenty of auctions going forward
Can private buyers attend aston barclays auctions? i see only traders are able to register online
Yes private customers can attend the sales and buy, you need to register on the day with a refundable deposit.
maybe the astra owener had 2 cars pluss with lock down we had 2 cars and my wife would always use mine as it was an auto.
Thanks bud
Maybe bought it and then got a job abroad for 3 or 4 years and couldn’t get out the tick on it so sat up drive way doing nothing or in garage
13:21 ... or those prices are paid by large dealerships who make their profit in the aftersale.
That astra has probably been at gm hq in the reception
😁👍
Usually find the elderly person has bought it and passed away and the other partner doesn't drive and it just sits in the garage till they pass away and the lawyer has the job to clear out the estate. 🤔🤔
Hiya Lee, Schoolboy error on the filming. It can happen to anybody LOL
Astra bin rented on air bnb
😂👍
Wilson’s had mega low miles stuff outa shell research basically shell pulled the engines ad ran them on test beds upto hundreds of thousands then pull them apart and finally sell off
Better be good jumper need one to start my digger cant be bothered buy another battery lol
I've just ordered the js2000 from eBay just waiting for it to arrive
Thought you’d run into trouble like Porterfield did with BCA😠. However from the comments it’s done your local auction some good (AB ) 🤫. Glad it’s just a glitch . Regards from darkest Staffyshure 🌝. Cheers Duck 😉
came across his video and the run in with bca, tbh does not surprise me with bca they are very secretive closed place
All these crazy comments about ads and you've explained fully what happened to the auction content. Are people just stupid ?
Li, the wife has asked if the JS1500 will work on me or should she get something more powerful?
You get extra bacon in the butties at the more expensive fleet sales.
The sandwiches are the same 😂
The astra will probably need 4 new tyres being at least 7 years old.
could do, they do perish quickly modern tyres, suspect these had continentals fitted
Would you change the tyres if you bought that Astra?
Thank you Lee .. IVE JUST BOUGHT IT ON EBAY USING YOUR CODE AND ITS WORKED SO THANK YOU FOR HELPING ME OUT.. ITS ACTUALLY A BIG DISCOUNT SO MANY THANKS LEE 👍👍👍
Great to hear!
OMG Lee you fall for that one that ASTRA HAS BEEN CLOCKED 🤣
😂👍
any chance you would employ someone with 0 experience whos willing to learn ?
Could that Astra be clocked? You’ll never know the story with it I suppose
I doubt it from what I could see it looked legit
We all drop clangers Lee 😂 If thats the biggest cock up of the day, id call that a win! Keep up the great content mate 👍
I have to jump in here and say I bought the Topdon 1200 the first time you promoted it Lee. I can honestly say it was the best 40 quid I spent before Christmas. Got an old 1.4 diesel and lost count of how many times that little TopDon saved me over winter. No, I don't know Lee or work for TopDon...it's just a top bit of kit...now I'm gonna watch the rest of the vid.
Thanks Daz, sounds like your diesel needs a new battery or glow plugs bud 😁👍
@@carukchannelIt's the battery Lee, but I'm an old miser who doesn't like spending money on things until I have to. The TopDon is my surrogate battery 😁
@@dazuk1969 👍👍😂😂
