I didn't focus on it much but I put long concrete anchors about every other stud gap there are probably 15 or so around the entire base. I should also note that I used pressure treated lumber for the base of the structure.
it is a double walled SS vent system. I have the install documented in later video. It was a bit of a challenge to manage, but once in it has worked great!!!!

What did you tie the side walls of the fireplace into at the top? Was there a truss above the ceiling board?
Great question....we were able to hit a truss and some cross bracing up there that was added once we got up there.
Why the new concrete slab in the middle under the firebox? Did you demo the existing slab and add a footing?
We added the rebar and significantly increased the thickness. Looking back not sure how necessary it was but I wanted to be safe.
How did you attach the framing to the slab? Did I miss that in the video?
