I've tested several inverters and was going to set up a variable load like yours, with incandescent light bulbs, but I found that the inrush current is quite high and can trip up inverters. It works here because you already have the bulb warm when you switch over.
auto mechanic here. Just to clarify, because i've met too many people that think just because a battery reads 12 volts, it's a good battery. Not at all! After years of use, a lead acid battery will become sulfated. That is lead sulfate will build up on the internal plates of the battery. Which reduces it's capacity, but not it's voltage. Nice set up by the way!
I picked up one of these recently at a thrift store and drilled holes in the side to poke the battery wires out (protip: top section pulls off, no screws), and connected a larger cell next to the unit (12AH I think). Working so far. I found that it's the older CP1000AVRLCD, but they named a newer 2020 model the same so you have to search a little to find info about this older version from around 2010 it seems.
Thanks for the video. Your lightbulb gizmo is a simple, yet innovative, way to prove proper operation. Good job.
Thank you

I know SLA batteries will do that but I didn't know AGM or Gel batteries would do that,.. Learn something new every day. Thanks
Excellent video, it helped me!
Great
Just what I needed. Thanks
Great

Thats cool,.. You could definitely extend run time with a bigger battery
I made some cables and hooked up an atv battery, any reason that shouldn't work?
Battery
huh
Where can I purchase a battery?
I bought mine on Amazon link it in the description.
