*When you actually look upon your childhood than you compared to today's standards of what you remembered* "I don't want to live on this planet anymore."
No way. But for reals 2008-2009 was everything to me in cartoon network. The people who say they don't like this year should compare it to the awful shows they play now on cartoon network.
Oh BOY you are not going to get away easily by saying 2009 was a good year for CN Many despise that year because...well, that was when they seriously began to try desperately appealing to older audiences and aired precisely *zero new cartoons* that year. Instead, they aired seven new (and from what I'm told, completely forgettable) live action shows and did CN Real. For reasons nobody will ever be able to comprehend, the execs thought CN Real was going to be a revitalization of the network, and to literally nobody's surprise but them, it tanked horribly. I mean, I know people's opinions tend to vary, but the only good new shows that CN aired from that era were probably Chowder and Flapjack. And I wouldn't totally write off CN now...I hate Teen Titans Go, that's something I won't defend, but it's a bit difficult to say you can't find anything worthwhile among Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Regular Show, and The Amazing World of Gumball (opinions vary on those shows, some are love it or hate it, but I still find people like at least one of those, and it's hard to honestly say any of those fall anywhere close to "awful'). I wish they'd quit being the 24/7 TTG network though.
Honestly when I'm like really bored I just see teen titans go you know its okay there are some parts that really don't make sense but there can be a funny joke here and there. My childhood was Basically Chowder, Flapjack, courage the cowardly dog, johnny test, The classic tom and Jerry in the afternoon at 1pm, Adventure time. The shows that were horrible was destroy build destroy and generator Rex. I've read a comment on RUclips saying that they ended chowder for destroy build destroy. The logo was even better in 2008 than now.
Who wants to come to my place to eat cereal straws, color with some blendy pens while watching chowder, and then cry because things will never be like 2008 😭😭😂
Why does everybody want to go back to those years? If you happened to forget, those were the years when we had the recession and unemployment grew. These weren't our best years
I mainly grew up with CN in the 2000s. That was the time I got attached to it. My favorites were My Gym Partner's a Monkey, Foster's Home, KND, and not to mention--Shaolin Showdown. And no, I don't care if people say this was CN's dark ages, they were still awesome. I also LOVED Flapjack. I loved treating things as timeless productions.
Right? It still doesn't register with me that 2007 was ten years ago. I didn't honestly think I'd say the day when uploading commercials this recent would be nostalgic to certain people. I've certainly learned to quit treating past years as better, for sure. That's why I still record from modern TV; you never know when something will be treasured ten years from now. Who would have ever guessed that CN's dark ages would end up being a nostalgia point for people?
guys im searching cartoon i think it was in 2008 2009 so basically it was college or school kids and they had some technology where they could go to some dimension where they were strong and there was one bad guy that had black sword and some black powder it was 3D cartoon and one of the member of that kids had ainstein photo in his room please anyone know the name

Haha, yeah! I got cable around this time so I just accepted there being a lot of infomercials as the norm. It only sank in recently that it was the result of the recession to me!
Hey in early 2008 I also received cable and was hooked on to cartoon network as a young kindergartner heading into 1st grade I miss being a young boy in 2008 and for me that year while the recession was still heating up it was a year of prosperity for my minority parents oh how I miss 2008 if only there was a way of accessing memories and watching them again on a VR headset...

Haha, don't thank me, thank the previous owner of this tape. I only found it at a thrift store by sheer stroke of chance, and it was almost a miracle I even noticed it -- it was a commercial tape that was recorded over and the store didn't realize that. For real, glad to have been able to share memories with you!
As a CN kid, 2008 is the saddest year for me since that was the year when my all-time favourite Cartoon Network show, Codename KND, ended and it was time to say goodbye to Sector V.
Haha, I never even thought about that! That's pretty funny! On a side note, I'm from Texas as you might guess and I think the "Texas" episode is absolutely hilarious. Yes, even Patrick calling Texas-shaped SpongeBob "stupid".

I have never have been hit so hard with nostalgia. This commercials were my childhood. I remember staying up past my bed time just to watch new episodes of my favorite shows on my old VCR TV. Brings back the memories. Thank you so much!
McManpants Lol, I also used to record on a VCR TV, I have a tape that i last used in 2009 with some CN stuff. I used to not record commercials though. I did record adult swim bumps during the anime shows sometimes.
As a 8 year old back in 2008-2009, these were my cherished childhood. Chowder and Flapjack had that unique late 2000s-esque feel that almost felt timeless. Also loved the Blendy Pens commercials and the CN Flicks premiere. Looking at this in a recorded VHS format makes me feel old. I never noticed that the shows were in analog back then as a kid. I really do wish to re-experience my childhood one more time to take a break from adulthood.
Deadass was 10 years old back then. I remember 99% of all of these commercials and Cartoon Network cutscenes. This was the biggest nostalgia trip I’ve ever taken
YOU TAKE THE MOON AND YOU TAKE THE SUN Nice find, BTW! I remember wanting Blendy Pens or something like that when I was 7, and barely using it after a few days.
YOU TAKE EVERYTHING THAT SEEMS LIKE FUN Heh, yeah, I feel like they did a lot of infomercials for toys like that, spending almost a minute trying to make it look like the coolest thing in the world, but really when you actually stopped to think about it, it really wasn't anything special. I remember that same announcer was on a lot of other toy infomercials around this time (I recall Bendaroos, Floam, and Fun Slides as well), and he annoyed the living daylights out of me every time he came on, haha. And it also amazes me, since I generally didn't know any better, I thought there was always this many infomercials. It only just now clicked that the recession was responsible for bringing us this many!
Anyone else remmeber back in 2008 when your brother would let you play on his sidekick phone after soccer practice while you listened to music on an ipod mini. Your babysiter had razor cut bangs and sometimes your school friends would invite you to their birthday parties at chuck-e-cheese on the weekends.
I'm shocked the Escape from Madmun Island episode got legitimate promotion in the US! Here in Canada, they'd usually just dump it in reruns when I was a lad in grade school. Thanks for digging this up!
These were the days. I was a little kid and I went over my grandparents for the summer. My brother and I watched Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon until noon and then we played outside. I miss those days
Right? I still don't register it was really that long ago. People say 2008 and I'm always like "Oh yeah, it was pretty recent...wait, what do you mean it was ten years ago!?" Though me being a bit more of a late 90s/early 2000s nostalgia geek has a lot to do with that, heh. But I see value in things from all sorts of time periods, and I always find interest in what will be looked back upon fondly.
ahhh 2008 cartoon network I was 12 at the time I would wake up early every Saturday morning to watch transformers animated, Pokemon diamond and pearl also bakugan ...........good fucking times man.
Hah, that young? It's so bizarre that I remember these commercials from when I was your age (...well, okay, a year younger, but still). But I don't mind it either way -- I love hearing about nostalgia stories from all generations. It's always fascinating to me what people of different ages perceive as evoking old memories!
You know its funny looking back on the previous part of my life. When I was younger I kind of just looked at College like some sort of glorified elementary school. Now it's different, life is very different....
I want a time machine so I can go back to the 1990's. So I can: 1. Meet Cab Calloway before he dies. 2. See these good commercials and shows, especially old networks that are gone nowadays. 3. See old Toonami, and finally see what the old Nickelodeon was like. 4. Just start over with everyone I was a jerk to back then.
I started watching CN more often around this time, though I still watched it quite a lot from 2003-2006. Anyways, 2008-2013 were my most watched years and haven't watched CN regularly for almost 5 years, crazy.
I'm almost 99% positive that isn't actually a Wii. It's probably one of those bland name products that has a bunch of built in """""""games""""""" that they sell at the dollar store. They have no other reason to avoid using the word "Wii". Desperate times in the 2008 recession, man.
As pretty much what everyone else is saying here, I miss 2008 as well. I was 10 years old that year (now I’m 21) and all of these shows and commercial bring back fun, unique and amazing memories. Chowder was my favorite show at the time, and I also loved the Noods, Wedgies and Har Har Tharsdays. 2008 was easily one of the greatest years of my life. Saying I want to go back in time and relive it would be an understatement. 😭
Yeah we are pretty close in age! Did you enjoy CN in 2008? In the description you said it wasn’t the best time for the network, but did you find it ok overall? Which shows did you like and/or dislike?
@@gabrielotuokere6913 Sadly, I never did watch much CN. I was more into Nickelodeon at the time; that said, because of this tape I finally sat down and watched Chowder, and from what I watched, I enjoyed it. I remember watching a bit of it at a friend's house too and liking it when I was still that age. In the years prior to this, I spent a *lot* of time catching up on SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, and Jimmy Neutron having not had cable up until I was 11. I really regret not giving CN more of a chance in retrospect.
I see. I watched CN to a good extent in my childhood, especially from 2006-2011. Those were probably the main years I watched CN, and the years I watched it the most. 2000-2005 I watched it on occasion at my house and my neighbor’s house, but like you mentioned too I was watching mostly Nickelodeon in the early 2000’s. In the mid-late 2000’s I watched Nickelodeon and CN simultaneously. So I would still consider CN a pretty large part of my childhood. And yeah while it is sad that you didn’t watch much CN, Nick was always my favorite channel as well. CN being my second favorite.
Man i remember when clone wars came out first I rented the movie from Hollywood rentals and then I watched the show the day it aired after school with my cousin and brother and then I rented up star wars the clone wars republic heroes for my ps2...I'm a big fan of the clone wars lol
Around this time I was playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time while watching Chowder, Flapjack, and Johnny Test. My grandpa used to hate it when I watched TV while playing my DS because it wasted electricity. Wish I could go back to those times.
I wish I was in 2008 again

Skilledprawn1619 same here. I even wish I can go back there as an emo teen.

VaultHS I always asked my parents for them. When I finally got them, I ate them as a snack because they got soggy after a few sips of milk.
Those things always look sweet
I tried the chocolate ones... Man those were addicting like the strawberry sugar wafers I bought from the local daily at the bx :>

You know its funny looking back on the previous part of my life. When I was younger I kind of just looked at College like some sort of glorified elementary school. Now it's different, life is very different....
I remember cereal straws and my mom actually bought them, I wish Kellogg’s would bring them back.
God, I was 13-14 this year.
Same here. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Alex Aceves I was 6 years old during that year.
Alex Aceves I was 6
I was 9
TheGogirl127 me too
Cn noods were lit
I wish I was starting 5th grade all over again.
I started 5th grade in 2008 - I wish I could go back.
I was in kindergarten in fall 2008
I want a time machine so I can go back to the 1990's. So I can:
1. Meet Cab Calloway before he dies.
2. See these good commercials and shows, especially old networks that are gone nowadays.
3. See old Toonami, and finally see what the old Nickelodeon was like.
4. Just start over with everyone I was a jerk to back then.
I miss the Nood era. Chowder, Total Drama Island, fucking Flapjack. Those were the best. Also, 12:30. Just why?
Tbh. This era wasn't as bad as people made it out to be.
I started watching CN more often around this time, though I still watched it quite a lot from 2003-2006. Anyways, 2008-2013 were my most watched years and haven't watched CN regularly for almost 5 years, crazy.
luciano casanova me too. 2008 is the year where I start watching CN
2008-2010 were the golden years for me.
I've been searching for that Flapjack James Blunt parody for years holy shit.
My favorite year was 2006 & 2007
34:00 this commercial is cringe
They don't even use the name Wii, and they dont use a PHOTO of it, a CGI rendered model of it instead. Boi.
I'm almost 99% positive that isn't actually a Wii. It's probably one of those bland name products that has a bunch of built in """""""games""""""" that they sell at the dollar store. They have no other reason to avoid using the word "Wii".
Desperate times in the 2008 recession, man.
It's not a Wii. It's some model of a cheap console.
Wow, you're really not that far off from me! I was 13 that year, and it too was one of my favorite years.
2008 wasnt that great
I know it was the recession but 08-12 were the best years of my childhood. The noods bumpers were the best
Man i remember when clone wars came out first I rented the movie from Hollywood rentals and then I watched the show the day it aired after school with my cousin and brother and then I rented up star wars the clone wars republic heroes for my ps2...I'm a big fan of the clone wars lol
I was born in July 2008 and i still miss 2008 because there was no COVID-19 back then
HOLY SHIT I wanted those blendy pen things so bad when I was a kid, that commercial made me tear up.
0:43 Did chowder just take a bong hit?
Lmfao
I thought he was drinking a potion 😭 😭 😭
You gotta be kidding me 2008? Bro seemed like yesterday
10:35 DIP SIP MUNCH
Oh 2nd grade, how much I miss you...
I can relate to that so much I loved 2nd grade where I was awesome school
@@beachbum23 whatever
@@jakeystarsuper Do not be mean.
Kindergarten for me
Around this time I was playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time while watching Chowder, Flapjack, and Johnny Test. My grandpa used to hate it when I watched TV while playing my DS because it wasted electricity. Wish I could go back to those times.
That Batman film that aired on Cartoon Network on August 16, 2008 has the late David Ogden Stiers as the Penguin in it?
This was my childhood
When a Time Machine is ever made I’m coming back to 2008
Blast from the past. I'm gonna try and find my old VHS tapes to see if I recorded anything.
