As you can tell from my user id, I'm a radio amateur in England. So I might swap my Anytone AT6666 v3 (CRT ss9900) for an AT6666 pro With this aerial, have another, longer top whip trimmed for 15 metres (21MHz) A couple of things someone else has suggested are:- (1) A bit of electricians tape on the bottom of the top whip to dampen the rattle (inside the middle section) (b) Permanent marker to mark the whip to save mucking about with a tape measure
I bought the parts to make a sirio pl2000 a roof mount. You can buy a so239 bulkhead. With 2 nuts and a gasket. Amazon I think, of course, clean the metal for good ground. The sirio pl2000 was for a magmount they sell separately, anyways, I was going to use a larger fender washer for support along with the so239 bulk head. I went puck mount and 102 whip with 10 inch extention from Breedlove.
I have a couple of videos that show the homebrew setup I built for my Jeep. I'm going to do a comparison video with this Radioddity antenna vs my homebrew, so you'll get to see it then.
Can anyone confirm the type of mount these have? We would like test some of these mobile antennas on our ECM vehicles and may be able to use one of our existing mounts. Thanks
Mower Junkie I think they call that an M type mount. So essentially it will likely screw right onto the Wilson 1000 M type magnet mount. Next question? How does it compare to a Wilson 1000 magnet mount antenna in performance? And do you have a Wilson 1000 magnet mount to screw it onto to test it? Thanks for the video. 73’

Good looking antenna. If it works as good as it looks.... Great video John.✌️✌️
Thanks Steve, I'll be doing some testing soon.
Hell yes I was hoping you would get this antenna to test!!!!
It's a Great antenna! I'm so glad they sent it to me.
Thanks for watching, 73's
@@MowerJunkiehow many miles is the range from antenna ? Have you tested now for max range mower junkie ?
@@andik859 I did do a distance test with this antenna, Check out the test here: ruclips.net/video/LYt92t0N3uE/видео.html
I finally heard some skip coming in a few days ago. But all I heard was some dipwad playing a recording of a crying baby on 38 LSB.
Looks like a solid antenna, much cheaper than some of the other brands of those open coil models.
Thanks for the video, looks a great antenna 🙂
Good review mr mower junkie

nice antenna and base, when you get that top adjusted, run a permanent marker around it to mark it just in case.
have a great day
Can’t wait to see it in action!👋🏻👋🏻73
Now this is something I can get behind ! Love those Antennas with that type of coil and adjustable ?!!
DIY mobile antenna please, we really need that video, i believe in you

Its a good looking antenna just needs higher max pep.
Mark the whip for the lengths required rather than remeasure all the time ?
Looking forward to the test. 73/88
Hey John, if that thing is going to rattle maybe it would be a good idea to put a little Loctite on the Allen screw so that it doesn't rattle loose.

Nice! Tks agn for the video. 73s.

Will this antenna work on a regular antenna stud for a Freightliner?
I have one of these - it heavy duty and a nice antenna!!!!
Have you talked any skip on it?
What happened to the 102" whip on the Jeep?
I had to take it off, the 102 kept getting bent from hitting low branches.
nice.
Cool
What is the wattage rating?
it's rated to handle up to 500 watts pep.
Just the video I was looking for. Checking out that same antenna last two weeks.... no vids on it until now from you. 😊
Cool, I'm glad you found the video. Stay tuned, I'll be doing some testing soon.
Get a second antenna and fabricate a dipole ???? A sub mini base antenna!!!!
