RIP Wade. thank you for all the music that you lived. all 104 years of it. you will be mist.
My daddy in a video with Wade Mainer, a famous two finger pickin' banjo player... who is in the Bluegrass hall of fame. My dad is playing the bass. My dad took him to Nashville to be inducted into the Bluegrass national hall of fame. They always & still, come out to my parents house. He is around 100 years old, what an honor to know them both.
I had the pleasure of taliking with Wade & Julia Mainer on the phone several years ago. I loved the Mainers ❤❤
Awesome 😇 this took me back to My Grandmas Grandpas House every wknd to here this type music . Christian Bluegrass !!! Praise God of us All ! Hallelujah. 😇
I grew up in southern WV in the mountains to this same music. It seemed everyone on my mother’s side played an instrument and the ones that didn’t were excellent singers. Our family always had Sunday dinner then this same music after. All the way to dark. I learned to pick the Wildwood Flower when I was 6. I just had to be a part of my families music! The Mainers bring back a rush of my own family that’s gone now. It was truly a blessing to run across these videos!! Praise God for people like them that bring such blessings!!!
these folks are my neighbors and they are as down home as they get. Wade is still pretty spry for turning 103 yrs. old. I am blessed to know them
I am from the country (NC) and these were songs came through that I heard from my parents and my grand parents. Now I know these his belly songs . But these were the songs my grandparent knew and were padded through my, and I am beloved this. music.

Wade & Julia, has been blessed with a long , long life, and be able to still sing, & play music. That's what worshipping GOD with whole heart 100 % does for you ! Just asked them, they'll tell you.
Wonderful! I believe Mr. Mainer`s still going strong at 102!

My favorite song EVER!!!
a great banjo player, good singer and funny man, he will be missed greatly
Dave, thanks for shining a light on the Mainers.....just watched all three parts of your interview with Wade and was truly blessed and uplifted. Wade's demeanor reminds me of another banjo hero of mine, Mr. Earl Scruggs. Thanks for sharing this!! Gotta go learn "Run Mountain"! 😉
What a great personality. Good looking and good singer well up in his 90's. Reminds me of my Dad.

And,...I also love you, too Mr Holt ...and all you bring to us... There is something VERY SPECIAL tho, about this video with the Mainers singing this song. It has touched me so, and so much so, that the very first time I had heard it, it stole my heart. So much so, that I had searched for it online for literally YEARS, ...(Not catching their names during the actual presentation on UNC-TV)... HOW I DO INDEED LOVE IT SO...Thank you, Carolyn Nunes, Holly Ridge
