Looks like Edgeworth still has trouble getting the names of witnesses.
Jerry Bi Really? Never realized until someone point it out XD
"Uh, that Old Bag..."
actually he did
Where?

The Judge going "I feel.... somewhat abandoned..." was probably the saddest, funniest thing to me.
lukaea I felt bad for the Judge for a second. Then I just laughed.
I feel bad for Labyrinthia in GENERAL!
"I think the judge is ready to adopt Ponco like another grandchild." I'm strangely okay with that idea.
27:48 Whether the witness is a parrot, a ghost, or a robot; Phoenix *will* get his cross-examination. You should know this by now, Edgey.
mydia023 don't forget at this also an orca.
thelegendaryhunter0 I hadn't watched the DLC case as I made this comment, so I did not really forget. Though I do wish to see Edgeworth's reaction to Phoenix defending Orla. :D
eventually he's gonna call a tree as a witness.
thelegendaryhunter0 And still win the case. :D
yep
Oh man. Wright vs. Edgeworth will always be the most badass rivalry in courtroom.
I dunno. There certainly is epicness to it but I kinda liked seeing him getting whipped around and sliced by Franziska and Blackquill. To me only Godot and Klavier were ''Meh'' (and so were the games they were in)
Maybe. I like Godot's rivalry slightly better. It ended at the end of trials and tribulations though. Which is a dang shame. Long live the aroma of darkness known as coffee forever looming in the prison walls. For all the guards and inmates to enjoy, and keep the prosecutor consuming it shaking his redless lifetime.
+Mindonthemoon Why you hating on Trials and Tribulations?
Every game Should have Wright vs Edgeworth at least once. It's always epic when they go at it
YEP HANDS DOWN
I like Athena and Blackquill's relationship. Like Simon and Marcy's. Or even Edgeworth and Franzy. A non-romantic relationship with no familial bonds, and an urge to protect each other. I wish fanbase's accepted these instead of turning them into shipping wars.
Gummy and Kay :v
+EnderMiner 21 glad someone is as recent as I, my friend.
As someone who has seen the dark side of shipping, and how obsessive they can be...I fully agree. Though couldn't Simon be considered a Big Brother figure to Athena?
I see them as simply a family. I mean... Aura loved Metis romantically and Simon loved Athena as a brother would.
Non-romantic, yeah..
I like Edgeworth's old "Objection!" voice better.
I do too, but rules are rules, you can't force Capcom to ask for the old objection back.
Matt Yan yeh we can. What's stopping us?
powermongerohyeah They'd never do it.
Oizahk Hyechs He _IS_ 36 years old, making him quite old.
thus the voice.

Edgeworth: "Mr. Wright has called all manner of witnesses to the stand over the years"
sure, he even called a parrot to make it testify xD
blackquill called a orca to testify.
Gianmarco Delgado And a radio
And a hitmanand a ghost of a vengeful spirit
Crazy idea: He calls a rock to testify
@@EC-hf8ui funny you should mention the radio... Edgeworth was the one to call that witness
> The Operating Table's purpose is to repair and dismantle robots

Edgeworth: ... by god.
Edgy won't be sleeping tonight...or..ever....or...maybe a week....a month....a year....
TheGrooseofLegend By the power of logic, thus I found this conclusion O.o
I loved Investigations!!!
also that has to be the most disturbing thing ever mentioned in an ace attorney game lol. an 11 year old having her mothers body dismantled.
Edgeworth: My.. chest hurts...
*Edgeworth is now suffering from cardiac arrest.*
28:00 *music starts playing* Phoenix: Music shut up!! *slams desk* Phoenix: much better, so edgeworth what were you saying? Edgeworth: O_o
Hahaha I thought that too. Phoenix just loves his cross-examination doesn't he?
Indeed he does. x3
XD what an interesting case. I'd like to indict Phoenix Wright for interrupting the music!
A witness changing their story to match the evidence? Relatively possible, if you can pull it off.
A witness explaining their REAL emotions as properly justified responses to match their fictionalized story? Wow.
Simon goes hardcore with basically everything in this game...
Yeah, his testimony was badass.
I love how the judge was surprised about a robot testifying. You already testified animals, I wouldn't be surprised if Phoenix pulled this idea out of his head.
28:00 WTF? The suspense theme literally played for like a second and then stopped.
+Ultranger Henshin I ask why...
But y tho
rekt
Because Phoenix needs his cross examination, and the music wouldn’t shut up. So Phoenix slammed his hands on the bench, and the music was like
“Oh crap!!”
Chris Sanderson OBJECTION! The music stopped playing before he slammed his hands on the bench. Therefore, the music could not have been scared away!
The bad ending to this is terrifying. Believe me when I say that you do not want to lose this case. Like, for real its far more fucked up than "the miracle never happened" or "maya's disappearance" or even "vera misham dying in a coma."
*Spoilers*
Simon is executed, Athena is permanently traumatized and can't look Phoenix in the eyes, Apollo is so ashamed of Phoenix that he quits, Trucy is killed by Aura, and Phoenix quits his job permanently.
This is what walkthroughs are for: avoiding bad endings.
Thank God I didn't read the spoiler part because I am playing that
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Now I have to look up those other bad endings.
That's pretty fucked up
24:33 I see Edgeworth still has trouble getting witnesses to state their names and occupations lol
First Thing i saw and freaked out was... Edgeworth in glasses is so CUTE *dies*
The cgi is really crappy tho
Edgeworth looks a bit Gay in those glasses But whatever
@@rbx_9 You can’t look at that man and say he’s straight
@@mega289 true
@@rbx_9 Hello again
That first cut-scene was short...but really epic.
There's Edgeworth, always getting immensely tough witnesses to deal with. Robots are no exceptions.
What are the odds that the same judge Phoenix always sees in court was the only one with nothing to do in court at this hour?
As to the voices... I really like the Judge and Edgeworth. The Judge's voice is exactly how I've always imagined it. Edgeworth is a bit low, but I'm glad they kept him English. I like Phoenix's voice, but I think his voice in "Layton vs Ace Attorney" sounds more appropriate. Apollo's voice doesn't sound as boyish as I always pictured it, but the fact that the man's name is Orion makes up for it.
I have to say, something I love about this game is the interactions between Phoenix and Edgeworth. They really do sound like best friends who go back a long, long time, and there's something to love about their immature taunting of the other like gradeschoolers... when they're not being overly melodramatic (seriously, could Edgeworth BE any more dramatic in his accusation of Athena?). It almost, almost feels less like a real trial and more like a game between them. Like there's no way Edgeworth actually thought Athena killed her own mother, but he knows that she has to be proven absolutely innocent before they can do anything about the real culprit. It's simply chess to him. I mean he's acting less like himself and more like von Karma when demanding the verdict be handed down, at least to me. Probably to goad Phoenix into his usual desperate thinking and bluffing. The writing is very strong in this game, I think, typos aside. The relationships between the characters really feel strong, something it always sort of lacked in the other games, and I think I like these cases a lot more than the ones from the earlier games since the stories are a bit more engaging.
Thats some really helpful and informative blabber
@@aelsaellie blabber? =-=
It's a bit weird that Edgeworth of all people is prosecuting this case. About what 9 or 10 years ago, he was in a somewhat similar position..
Brianna M 11 years, give or take a few days. You were close though.
seriously though, wtf edgeworth?
Edgeworth is rather harsh towards Athena considering:
A) his own history in DL-6
B) his treatment of Ema in Rise from the Ashes
C) his immediate defense of Kay twice (one in each Investigations game)
Yet he had the strange audacity to act like Wright is blinded by emotions when defending his junior attorney. It's odd. Obviously Edgeworth just wanted the truth and was more than willing to accept Athena was innocent. But he's unnecessarily harsh towards her given the circumstances.
Yeah, in SoJ+DD he’s an a$$hole that thinks that the only thing that matters is the truth and apparently the defendant is guilty without a doubt. And in SoJ he forces a confession out of Ellen with no empathy whatsoever ever, he didn’t actually say this but this is in a nutshell what he said “oh hey culprit, how about you just f***ing admit you did it already” instead of emphasizing. Then after he did that and she was proven innocent he had no concern that he did that even though it wasn’t the truth. What an a$$hole.
I watched the anime first so he might be more of a (I’m not going to keep saying that) but in the Investigations games (more specifically Investigations 2 maybe because the first one is unmemorable) he defends people that are falsely accused like a defense attorney. Even at the end he sympathized with *insert identity of mastermind* but from my memory he had no empathy for Athena whatsoever and just prosecuted the best he could.
Simon really subconsciously put out that he cares for autistic people (which Athena is) and shouldn’t be raised like robots. He’s my new favorite character of all time.
Edgeworth: I intend to prosecute the defendant with all I have... for that is part of my creed
Wright: Then you better bring it!
Judge: If you two could stop flirting-

OOOOH, THIS IS GETTING GOOD
Did anyone else get that feeling when Phoenix and Edgeworth were about to start the case?
I really like what they're doing at the end of this video. Using both the Emotions and Testimony side to cut through lies, only to have more lies reappear. It really makes it feel like you're fighting a battle against Prosecutor Blackquill, I love the idea they used here.
Edgeworth's "OBJECTION!" is starting to sound like Manfred's. The old one was better, much more lively.
To me, it kiiiinda sounds like the fan translation version of Gregory?
If you listen to his (Gregory's) fan VA, he kinda sounds the same :3
Get over it
this IS technically 7-8 years after we last see edgey, so he's alot older now

+Treznor Technically, "Apollo Justice Ace Attorney" is "Ace Attorney 4", because tells what happened after "Trials and Tribulations"/"Ace Attorney 3"
+Treznor me too.
I feel like the experimentation and stuff from this case might've been what helped bump it up to M for Mature.
Helped? That and the “tried to dismantle her mother” are the base reasons.
Hahahaha "Ms Panko"!!! Oh Edgey~ how can you mistake a robot for breadcrumbs?!
That's why he has glasses
Like when he calls the Psyche-locks Psycho-locks
And he called mr monkey Mrs monkey in the first ace attorney I think
I love how the trial took place like this.
It builds up the conclusion and fits best in the last trial of the game.
Edgeworth's objection is derp
+Pocketmonster 108
If you're referring to when he claimed that Metis's face was covered, I 100% agree. While it is possible, his statement is conjecture. He doesn't have evidence to show that it actually happened, and since PONCO is unable to identify the object it carried, it could have been anything heavy. However, I'm pretty sure that would have ended as a suboptimal way to win the case, as it doesn't solve anything regarding either of the bombings, nor does it clear Athena's name of the murder of Clay Terran.
Just about every witness is unreliable, lying,or doing some other shenanigans that mkae Phoenix's life and job even harder then how hard it already is
Bet the voice was recorded when the dubber covering his nose

Time for the best Phoenix Wright part EVER!
this case gave me shivers. probably the most intense one in the series.
two criminals shouting "Hold it" at a judge defending each other wtf this IS the dark age of law
4:41 "If the two of you are ready...?"

they're not even trying to hide it anymore
13:46 "To bluff or not to bluff? That is the question!"
Me: This is Ace Attorney, the answer is obvious, Bluff.
noooo, edgeworth became too macho. ahh, it's too deep. oh, please stop, it's too deep
Ah. I see Phoenix still hasn’t lost touch with the ridiculous witnesses he calls forth
Your honor.....the defense was BORN READY! Hell yeah, those words rang so true to me especially after playing all of the previous attorney games in the series.
20:55 more like it's never good when Edgeworth uses that finger-waggle of his.
Edgeworth's voice sounds like it belongs on a man around 30 years older than Edgeworth... abnormally deep...
But thank you for uploading all of these videos!!
Klavier's objection seemed off, as well. Phoenix's seemed a bit off, too, at first.
Isn't Kyle Hebert in his 30's himself?
It sounded like gregory's objection
at first when Simon started his testimony it sounded a bit crazy and I was like:
"wew! his testimony is just lying left and right, if we had Athena it would be using that discord powers thing... too bad she's the defendant and isn't allowed to do something"
Literally Athena: wassup im the first defendant in the ace attorney to cross-examine the witness in court
Phoenix in Turnabout Sisters: Am I a joke to you?
@@demy1393well, she is technically the first to cross examine the witness with no intention of defending herself from the get-go
It's been very long watching this, probably several years ago...
Seeing the case where Phoenix Wright had to defend Athena as she was accused of matricide by Ms. Blackquil.
It is an "astonishing" video.
This feels so much better to rewatch after. Ace attorney: investigations 2
4:20 to 5:01
Anime can make anything epic
420 nice
Personally I think they should've switched Blackquill's and Edgeworth's "Objection!". Edgeworth's doesn't sound British and Blackquill's "Silence!" would fit better with it.
Soooo
About that
From what I learned in the first five minutes I am assuming that Athena saw the murder and but her mother on the robot operation table to fix her.
~45:00 "Not when I'm around! Don't hope for an easy death, you selfish, self-absorbed, callous, self-forsaken..."
Negative music: imma depress you
Phoenix: I will cut you!
Negative music died
16:57 "It was Ms. Cykes who bandaged it up that like" I think Phoenix just had a minor stroke when he said that..
R/ihadastroke material, indeed.
Edgeworth. Regardless of his voice's age still has the badass voice ever (next to Godot)
38:30 Is it me or Edgeworth seems cold and ruthless, like in the first game?
And how can he say that Phoenix is "as green as ever" when in Ace Attorney Investigations (and the fourth case of Gyakuten Kenji 2) he believed that Kay was innocent until the bitter end, eh?
In the beginning: That was one of the most awesome court-is-now-in-session cutscenes. I like Edgeworth's voice.
Edgeworth has been practicing the art of the bluff.
PEARL! And she's all grown up :'), seems like yesterday she was still a kid
Only just occured to me now that this was canonically the first time they'd been in court against one another since Matt Engarde's trial
The entire circus is ready your honor.
it sounds like edgeworth is gonna start coughing after he says objection
OBJECTION! _cough cough, cough_ *COUGH* sorry
OMG. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS, IT'S SO AWESOME!!
What the fuck was up with Edgeworth's voice? He sounded like he was chewing on something.
His voice reminded me of Mr. Herriman from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
Nah it's just that he speaks american-brit. Cause american kids probably couldn't handle a real british accent so he just over-articulates to make Edgeworth sound british.
Holy shit that is fucking perfect
36:44
Now look we know this is a mystery visual novel and all but... This has to be one of the most fucked up thoughts Edgeworth has ever had
Edgeworth's old Objection was much more badass, but just the point that Edgeworth is here - DAYUM!
Dayum. Edgeworth sounds manly.
13:09 Edgeworth: Objection! //classy English accent//
Me: BAHAHAHAHAHAHA XDD //dies of laughter//
Edgeworth teasing Ponco was so funny to me
For people wondering Edgeworth's new VA is Kyle Hebert. The guys who did his voices before were just people from Capcom's localization staff. Same for all the other voices back then.
It's still bothering.
You shouldn't change a characters voice, that's changing the character itself then.
xJC4Rx
So you seriously want them to find this random guy who's not even a professional voice actor and who might not even work at Capcom anymore to do voice acting for him? All because they chose him to record some voice clips for Edgeworth back then?
mgbenz If you can't keep him, don't use him. They should've known better.
xJC4Rx
No YOU should know better. Because you have this delusional thinking that fictional character voices are somehow sacred things that should never be changed or touched.
So what, should they just remove an extremely important character out of a game or stop productionof a show just because a certain character's voice actor left or died?
They should have removed Genie from all subsequent appearances in future works then considering he's been voiced by Dan Castellaneta after the original film.
You don't have any idea how often character voices change in general do you?
You know what they did when the voice actor for Slinky in Toy Story died? Found a replacement without changing the characters voice.
Its so cool to see Pheonix and Edgeworth battle again
Yay!!!!! I won't have to wait to.finish this. You've been finished with this game. I've been watching it from another channel. Thank you!!!!

It's about everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Spoilers:
There are multiple bad endings depending on where in Turnabout for Tomorrow you get the game over. 1 is if you failed to prove Blackquill innocent. 2 is if you prove Blackquill innocent but fail to prove Athena innocent. 3 is if you fail to catch the real killer. The first game over bad ending is by far the worst: Blackquill is executed, Aura disappears and Trucy and the other hostages are gone forever, and Phoenix/Athena/Apollo basically all leave the agency and give up practicing law as a result. Ending 2 has Blackquill survive but Aura takes Athena hostage since Athena wasn't proven innocent. And ending 3 has the true killer escape freely.
"That... That can't be... TRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEE!"
This line alone makes it completely impossible to take this case or this game seriously. That someone wrote that and animated it and programmed it thinking it was anything but one of the stupidest things imaginable blows my mind and epitomizes how much I hate this game.
Thanks for posting it though, I needed to link it to mock it properly. Your sacrifice will not be in vain.
I think it was just once, it would be fine. But since it just keeps happening, it's hard to take it seriously
4:13 awe they absolutely missed eachother didn't they :)
Actually, this is not the first time he has bullied a witness OR Wright in court despite a crisis occurring. Same happened in Farewell, My Turnabout, but Edgeworth is a type of character you have to trust. He puts it bluntly, sure, but the strategy of the trial was exactly to buy time. And hey, they succeeded.

28:00 The suspense theme literally played for like 1 second...is that a mistake or something?
Wow even Phoenix himself knows that he does bluff in court.
Phoenix is straight up known to bluff and outright pull off the impossible. That is his gift. He manages to not only bluff, but back up that bluff with proof to bring something into question. And in blind luck, that bluff pays off.
Ah, that's not the game. Must've happened while I was editing.
To be honest, I cried for Apollo and Athena in this case. I mean, they both lost someone special to them. Athena, her mother, and Clay, Apollo's best friend. . .I felt so bad. . .I've never seen Apollo so aggressive and cold. . .and distant. . .I actually felt a little bit scared, too. . .
Was that a glitch when the music immediately stopped when Phoenix slammed his hands down? I'm confused...
1 measure of "Suspence" was played. ONE.
Only edgeworth can remove his glasses and look 10 years younger
I wish Phoenix knew to tidy up his evidence when he stopped needing it all the way back in the first three games. Would have been useful for 1-5 and it's massive hoard of stuff.
How do you know wether to press a certain part of the testimony or present evidence?
What's the name of the song that's playing at 47:10
40:31 and why couldn't they use Simon's "objection" voice line?
quite the tough case, edgeworth doing good
pathological liar lol that noise level
loving the differences in using her power isn't always the same
Unpopular opinion I guess, but I like Edgeworth's voice. It's British and mature just like I would find it. Phoenix's is a little off, but it will just take some time to get used to. Apollo's is way wrong. He's too quiet and old, he's suppose to be young and shout!
I'm not quite fond on new Phoenix and the way they go around. He's quite more dumbed down than in previous games. If he actually were like in AJ, he would've realized that the whole premise was based on Edgeworth's interpretation of the robot declaration. Hence, there might have been another way to interpret his testimony. After noting that they could mistake people judging by their IDs and that they don't recognise face if they're covered, he could've already suspected that there could be a false premise at the moment instead of going through all the crappy mumbo-jumbo.
I liked when it was less "She couldn't do it bc I believe in her only" and more like trying to make a change of perspective, like his mentor thaught him.
I think everything is relative now.
7 Years of living in Paranoia after getting PW disbarred has probably left Kristoph Gavin with an eroded motive. Remember, he admitted during the Misham case that he was Offended when Zak brushed him off and chose Phoenix, all cause of a Card Game. Gavin may have been more wounded by this than anybody could have suspected, and he's been carrying this hurt letting it build up inside him so he couldn't feel what it was doing to him.
28:00 start the funk music!
Phoenix: *slam* No!
