#anime
I mean I’ve gone on record saying that my top four bands to make an anime opening are AKFG, FLOW, SiD, and Nico Touches the Walls.
I'm not familiar with Nico Touches the Walls, but Wikipedia says Naruto Shippuden and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (both of which I've seen).
If I had to pick my four: I would keep AKFG and Flow, but would also put Uverworld and probably Seatbelts (which is kinda cheating, since I don't believe they've done any anime openings outside of Cowboy Bebop).
@@yakumoyomi5765 Nico did the second opening for FMA Brotherhood (the one they brought back to use in the finale’s credits where it shows the photos of what happened with everyone after beating Father.) the eighth opening and the thirteenth opening for Shippuden.
FLOW, absolutely ^^
@@yakumoyomi5765 Nico did the second op to FMA Brotherhood, and the eighth and thirteenth opening to Shippuden.
That original OP for Bleach - Asterisk by Orange Range is classic. Big nostalgia hit every time I hear it. The album version is inferior to the anime version.
You can NEVER go wrong with Asian Kung-Fu Generation for your anime OP, Naruto, Bleach, Tatami Galaxy, Erased, etc. All bangers.
Everytime I think about Erased I think about how Re:Re is one of the best songs I ever heard
I almost cried when I heard Re:Re: playing in the first episode credit roll, listening to that song ever since your early teen days really hits hard.
TIL Erased used Re:Re as an OP.
At first I was surprised a recent-ish show would use such a dusty song, but upon looking it up I remembered they rerecorded one of their old albums in 2016 for some reason
@@BIGBLUBLUR Considering Erased literally involves time travel, why *wouldn't* they use an old song, especially a remake of one?
@@Who_is_Ari That's a good point actually, never thought of it that way
That whole album slaps
AKFG started the concept of linking specific bands to shows for me.
For me, it was Spyair linked to Gintama. Though they also did a banger for Iron Blooded Orphans.
AKFG is the band that made me invested in anime in the first place. Not just Naruto's 2nd OP, Haruka Kanata but also Bleach's After Dark & FMA's Rewrite. Those songs were exhilarating & being a 10 year old eith internet access who wanted more music like that, I got exposed to so many JP musicians bc of them.
FLOW, Sambomaster, Veltpunch, Aqua Timez, Porno Grafiti, Maximum The Hormone, Granrodeo, Hello Sleepwalkers, L'Arc-en-Ciel, THE PILLOWS, etc. So much music I love & wouldn't have touched them if AKFG wasn't there to just blow my mind.
This is also like when you first find out about bands like Sambomaster and Maximum The Hormone
I like Ailiph Doepa, but nobody knows about them...
I had to do a double-take when I first read a group named [PORNO GRAFFITI] was singing some fire for GTO and FMA 2003.
@@DeepestDankest Oh hell yeah, I remember seeing that
@@fluidthought42I know that band only because of their song in Let It Die.
@@DeathKnight5608
Two, actually! They were my favorite songs from that game and I was excited when I learned that they were both from the same band. So far, pretty good shit. The music videos are a fucking trip tho.
I don't care at all about Naruto but Haruka Kanata is SO f*cking good
Bleach's Haruka Kanata is better tho! I will die on this hill!
@@In-The-Zonewasn't the bleach intro After Dark?
Correct, it was after dark by AKFG
@@Flounderboy15
@@Flounderboy15 You Fool!... But nah, the original anime run of bleach had a song called Haruka Kanata as its last ending. It had I think like 12 versions of it that went through the story and one last one dedicated to Ichigo and Rukia's friendship.
Also Bleach's best intro is still Uverworld or Shoujyo S. God Bleach has so many S tier openings in retrospect.
@@In-The-Zone Chance for Heat the Soul 2 is so Good
CRAZY that nobody mentioned "After Dark" yet, you don't even need to know what Bleach is about and that Opening will give you all you need to put it on your binge-list, just BAM! love it
Came here looking for some love for "After Dark". Ty❤❤
Rewrite and Blue Train are my favorites. This band is so nostalgic to me.
Blue train is so catchy
I don't know if this is the clip I expected from this channel but godDAMN do I agree so fucking hardcore
The karaoke room be like
KESHITEEEEEEE RE RAITO SHITEEEEEEE
Even their calmer songs that don't have Masafumi Gotoh shouting hard are so good. My favorites from AKFG are Blackout and Maigoinu to Ame no Beat
Have you heard Gotoh's solo work? He has made a handful of bangers under the artist name Gotch/Gocchi. My favorites are Nothing but love, Endless summer, Heaven, Vegetable, and Stateless.
Kind of upset RUclips did not recommended videos of Asian Kung-Fu Generation
They have a song called 'Blue Train' that solidified them for me
Asian Kung-fu Generation and the Pillows were on regular in my headphones through the 2000s
AKFG are peak
One of the handful of Japanese acts that I discovered from anime who's discogaphy I actually ADORE outside of their OP/ED context. I think it's the grungy sound that keeps me coming back. Even their more recent stuff takes me back to being a highschooler discovering so much music for the first time.
They have such a unique style and sound, same with bump of chicken
I'm always down for some AKFG! Some of favorites are Sleep, After Dark, Kaigan Dori, Black Out, World Apart, Living in the Now, A Town In Blue, Love Song of New Century, Eternal Glider, Afterimages of Summer.
All of that plus fujisawa loser and New World
AKFG is the band that made me love JP rock music in general and made me find awesome bands like AliceNine, Versailles, Radwimps and many more bands from over there. So awesome I feel like some of AKFGs recent work is pretty okay but not as great as their older work for sure.
There was a certain point I was catching up on some seemingly completely unrelated anime in my backlog, and somehow AKFG showed up in nearly every single one. Erased, Tekkonkinkreet, Dororo, Tatami Galaxy, Night is Short, ... Even after, when I switched to a completely different medium and I read Solanin, TURNS OUT THEY MADE A SONG FOR THE MOVIE ADAPTATION OF IT. It was like the universe telling me "hey maybe you should check out these guys, they're pretty rad".
You have no idea what memory you unlocked by singing Haruka Kanata. I'm gonna dig into that discography.
Whelp, I gotta go listen to that opening again now, which means I'm gonna end up listening to them for like two hours. Guess I know what I'm doing tonight now at least.
I gotta finish the video later. I’m immediately about to listen to em
I've never even watched anime when I heard Haruka Kanata, and I immediately fell in love. They've introduced me to soooo man good Japanese bands: tricot, Number Girl, Polkadot Stingray, MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS. Japan's rock scene is SOOOOO fucking crazy good lmao
Woolie's absolutely right, Haruka Kanata and the other anime openings get your foot in the door, but once you step in and see the rest of their music, it's like coming upon a mountain of treasure. Ajikan's the best!
Re:Re from Erased fucking hits so different after watching that top tier anime.
Re:Write hits even harder now that I am at my age. AKFG is amazing, I now wanna cover their songs lol
Also and Porno Graffitti to that list. They have so many iconic series affiliated with them.
Two other black men talking about how great my favorite band is. This made my week. Everyone treat yourself and go watch the video for World, World, World + New World and also Fujisawa Loser
I'm glad someone appreciates the full metal opening as much as I do
The first song from Ouendan on DS was the one i remember most by them.
You're goddamn right they are
After Dark for Bleach is imo is their most underrated opening songs and is also my favorite AKFG song
Ajikan were my favourite Japanese band for years ever since I heard Haruka Kanata for Naruto and Rewrite for the original FMA series. Checking out Houkai Amplifier EP and then KTFM sounded so different to other Japanese bands. Then Sol-fa after that and so on. Admittedly I haven't listened to them since Landmark. Need to go and check out what I missed. I thought they stopped making music.
Hometown is full of bangers
The alternative, more mello single version of Re:Re is great
Damn it, now Re: Re: is stuck in my head again
How did you know I was just listening to kimi to iu hana specifically bro
holy shit this is relevant to my interests!
Rewrite hits so damn hard
AKFG and Uverworld legit got me into anime
AKFG & FLOW are still around, occasionally putting out new bangers. Yeah, a lot of us didn't move on from the early 2000s for good reason, music taste-wise.
I miss HIGH & MIGHTY COLOR.
They're like 50 and STILL rule just as hard
LISTEN 👏TO 👏ASIAN👏BANDS 👏OUTSIDE👏OF👏ASSOCIATED 👏MEDIA👏
kimi tsunagi five m is one of my all time albums. love this band
I've seen them live 3 times and they're always amazing
Been a fan of AKFG ever since seeing loop and loop on the anime network on demand in 2003. I hate how old I am
What was the first song he was singing
Haruka Kanata and Rewrite are great songs. soundtrack of my childhood. I really should do a deeper dive on them like I did on the Pillows.
I only like two AKFG songs, one is Rewrite and the other is SIREN from the album Houkai Amplifier.
Everything is else is something I'm not quite on board for.
Tatami Galaxy fans rise up for one of the best OP
Theyre probably half the reason the naruto anime was so memorable for many people lol
HARUKA KANATAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
I've gotten an even greater appreciation of them after watching Bocchi the Rock.
AKFG is goated but God damn DOES fucks super hard if you ever get into Gintama
Stance Punks are great too
I'll still side with Galneryus. Hunting for your Dream is still the best ending in an anime.
Seen them live. Pretty good
I hate that I knew the exact Naruto theme
AKFG are bloody great.
Ajikan 4ever
Love these fuckin nerds.
they're really good but they're always cursed to make the anime become worse
just watched op4, very boring lol
Fun Fact: We got Haruka Kanata as the first Naruto OP to appear on Toonami after over 50 episodes of one of the worst dubbed theme songs ever (at least one that isn't the German theme)
But the German theme has lyrics which instantly makes it worse. The EN "dub OP" is just some random electric guitar.
